I used to watch your videos EVERY DAY as a young kid I was absolutely obsessed with fishing my whole life. I actually fell into drugs early on and after awhile they took everything I loved out of my life. I just stopped caring about anything fishing included. I just went for the first time in several years a few days ago and caught some absolutely lunkers. The obsession instantly came back. It’s now the day after and I’m already watching all of Brendan’s videos again😂. I know that got way too deep for the comments section but I can’t express how much this means to me that my joy of what I love came back so much that I’m watching the channel I did as a kid😂 anyways if anyone reads this thank you for getting to the end lol because I wouldn’t have
Your commitment to this set up even after it “broke” was impressive. And Carp are known to be fairly hard fighters, and that one was decent. Great job again!
Brendan love your videos I’m 72 years old an grew up fishing my first fishing reel was Mitchell 300 I caught every thing on it even sharks and still have about 10 today I believe it was the first spinning reel made❤😊
Dollorama is some of the most fun fishing you can find!! Amazing gear, sometimes even name brands for pocket change, even these comically big crank baits and 18 inch soft plastic 8oz lures!
Ur video came up on my fyp, and gotta say man u are putting in the work and made a functional rod outta scratch, lots of clickbaity youtubers out there but was pleasantly surprised with your content. keep up the good work, you got urself a new subscriber ;)
Hello nice to see a new video of yours it's been a long time since you last posted a video nice to see you again Brendan 🎣👍 nice bait cast you should put the eye on the top of the rod it would make it easier to cast
When you were showing the real life, I said to myself congratulations he made a scabla real because that’s basically what that is it free spools has no brakes and no drag , Scarbla real a.k.a. the KP
Except that the reel is mounted in the wrong place for a fly rod. It needs to be below your hand grip to counterbalance the rod and line during casting. This is important for consistently good line control accuracy & presentation, which are very essential to consistently successful fly fishing. It is the main advantage that fly fishing can have over spin fishing in the hands of a competent fly fisher. I’ll give you points for just trying though.
While I do appreciate the creativity it took to put this together, I would have preferred to see you make a rod out of foraged and gathered natural materials. I think it's past time we as a society tried to find alternatives to all this cheap plastic crap from China that only ends up polluting the planet.

The construction of the rod is super intelligent and creative , great job man!
Your commitment to this set up even after it “broke” was impressive. And Carp are known to be fairly hard fighters, and that one was decent. Great job again!
Once I saw the JB Weld I knew it was getting serious 😂
what a successful DIY rod
Very creative!
Excellent video!!!
Incredible video Brendan! You have such a creative mind to be able to make those supplies into a fishing rod!
Imagine pulling up to a bass tournament with this art piece😂
You're a graduate of McGuyver's School of Engineering. 😂 Another excellent video Brother.
Good job for making that fishing pole
The springs of clothespins would make great eyelets.
Very fun video. Was thinking if the line came off the top of the reel it may have casted smother
This is what keeps me watching this channel, super creative and fun. Awesome video man!
Yes, more please!

This was an awesome video! You should do another and see what other reals you can come up with.
I forgot about this channel I am so happy I found it again this is one of the people that made me love fishing🎉🎉🎉🎉
I absolutely love these kinds of videos please keep it up!!
That’s actually really impressive for a homemade Dollar General rod
Thats an awesome video my guy lol when i saw all your supplies i couldnt imagine what it was gonna look like but it turned out great lol
Was Isaiah just sitting there huffing Lacquer thinner?😮
I just asked this to lol
You make it out like this idea was original lol, this has been done by quite a few fishing youtubers, lol.
Lol wow 😊that was pretty freeking cool ! Thanks for sharing! Great job 👏
For all those who say you have to have a jig pole, cranking pole, flippin stick, frog rod, blah blah blah.
Great video ++
Yo I love these
Ur lure making and rod making vids are the best
Love it! More videos like this please

That was a great vid brother!! And i think I speek for all of us when i saw we would love to see for video's like this!!
Really clever! Thanks a lot!
I’d like to see you catch a sizable fish on an ice fishing rod. Use any lbs test line you want, but catch anything over 5-6lbs on an ice fishing rod.
Still landed some! Mission successful!
Brendan miller videos are peak, takes me back to 2020
Gotta take it steelhead fishing you made a homemade centerpin reel!
Nice idea. I would love to see your next crazy idea.
Didn’t know you were a disc golfer! Excited for that content!
They could use you at South Bend. That was fun.
Right on!!
My dad when a teenager made a rod out of a Tank Aerial he said it worked great 🤗
Pretty friggin cool man
Let's see you build a fishing boat out of card board box material. Than go fishing 👍 🚂 Gary from Michigan ✅
Thats awesome congrats on new channel ill have to subscribe. Ps great job on rod build
It's about that time of year :) dg and fishing goes hard.
Cool idea!
When are we going to see another fish fight video?and also I'd enjoy seeing another survival scenario vid ☺
Great vid
Make more of those videos please
I play disc golf alot just sub to your channel cant wait to watch the videos
Bro I'm taking you on survivor for sure! Wait we gotta find a Doller General 😂
Too cool !
Thought for sure u were gonna buy a kite, would've had line a spool and potentially use the rod as well
you made a DG centerpin!
Awesome video! Very creative! Maybe a new series?? I wasn’t able to see link to new channel though and interested in subscribing!
Always a good day when you upload
Make more rod and reels
Drag strength YOU 😂😂😂
You need to mount the rod on the wall its a real trophy
You made my day today great vid
Welcome back!!!!
When you were showing the real life, I said to myself congratulations he made a scabla real because that’s basically what that is it free spools has no brakes and no drag , Scarbla real a.k.a. the KP
9:52 but the rod held the carp. 😊
Interesting
Bad ass finger gash!!
Lesson I learned is... don't hate the player.. hate the game. If you aren't catching fish it's probably not the rod lol
This is weird … subscribed.
Doesn’t count because the line and lure didn’t come from DG.
Just kidding. Great video.
you shoud try google maping bodies of water around you
You’d get killed fishing for carp with treble hooks in the UK 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You should make a fly rod and baicasting rod respond soon thanks
Why is he just sitting there with a bottle of xylene or something lol.
This man built a rod out of garbage and I can’t seem to catch a fish on a 200 dollar set up. 😅
Prob could have bought a rod and reel for what you paid for all that stuff lol
Lol I know 😂
You ever fish in south eastern ohio? I'd love to take ya anytime I'd even buy ya lunch

dont get mad when i bowfish pleco out of diskgolf parks
Welcome to how to spend more money building a shitty rod/reel from scratch than just buying a cheap new one.
Why

Post more
HoF engineering.
Not my usual cup of tea, but this is a Brendan Miller video. What commitment.🫡
