In case anybody else did not mention it, those longer screws are for shifting the pocket clip to the G10 scale side, which requires longer screws to get past that G10 scale.
Thanks for the heads up. They came with my 308, but I don't need left side carry.
I just ordered this. It will be my first ZT. I think it is beautiful and hope I will like it. I'm sure I will though, I like anything with a blade 😍😍😍
That tear drop on the pivot acts like a soundhole ..it gives the 0308 a great muffled snap...IMHO
Have my eye on one. Just the right size for me, and a sweet well made knife.
Your 100% RIGHT about other companies doing ''Emerson knives'' BETTER than Emerson !
I have SEVERAL different Emerson inspired /collaboration's [whatever you wanna call them] AND 2 custom's FROM Emerson Knives and the knives that are NOT from Emerson DO in FACT work/function & deploy MUCH BETTER than the ACTUAL Emerson knives !
I bought my 1st ACTUAL Emerson knife WAY back in the mid 90s and almost immediately after purchased Benchmade Emerson CQC7 and was a bit shocked by the fact the Benchmade Emerson functioned far BETTER than the actual Emerson ,so this is by no means a new phenomenon !
Love this knife
Love my pimped 0560 in Elmax. This is great but lots of choice at that price.
Great knife
Wow. Each to their own. Those stripes are a definite no go for me.
Stripes for you. Price for me. Ouch.
@@BeefGold damn! I just looked it up. I didn’t know. $320??
I thought it was under $200. 😂😂😂
LTK- I really like this knife, but I thought $320 was a stretch until I saw the box. Screaming deal.
Thanks for showing us the innards of a classic ZT folder. I love the external pivot nut. Fyi, steel ball bearings are often stainless so rust shouldn't be an issue (versus ceramic). You *can* get carbon steel bearings but one wouldn't imagine ZT specifying them on a $320 knife 🙏
Ceramic bearings are prone to fracture under impact. Steel is a better choice for hard use. The 1/2" nut is a gimmick. (Who carries a 1/2" wrench? Even fighting vehicles are metric.) The hole behind the pivot is a gimmick too. Other than the fact that it's overweight, it's not a bad design.
@@sheltermonkey6065 when cermic shatters, steel will flatten, so you need to replace the bearing anyway.
besides of that; i have dozens of knives with ceramic bearing and i never had an issue, but i use my folders for cutting, not for stupid stuff that puts so much lateral force on a blade that the bearings break.
@@UA-cam-Censorship-Police "when cermic shatters, steel will flatten"
Can't decide btw this and the coyote tan..
Love zt. But still have yet to buy one just got the benchmade bugout 535-3 carbon fiber. So light with s90v steel can't go wrong
WOOOOOW
Yes it is a little pricey even with that 20cv steel.
I want one sooo badly but I can't see paying 320 for it, especially taking into account the conversion rate to Canadian ( 402.00 ). Jesus, Mary and Joseph, just can't do it. I think I'll stick to my Two Sun's. Great video as usual, take care and stay safe sir.
I have a problem with mine, it sound lose when I tighten it become to ruff and the blade still has movement. I am very disappointed in at at the moment
I want it but not above 260
Zero tolerance 0302 now so expensive, i saw ebay sale usd700.
Have that knife new and original for like $20 bucks (don't ask me how lol)
$320 is climbing up the staircase! Hahaha
Is this a strider design or copy ?
I’d need to refresh my memory on this. I believe it was a collaborative effort between Ken Onion and Strider.
I always liked 0308 but the money they are screaming for is ridiculous
A little to much $, but looks like a good knife!
Mind-bogglingly laughably overpriced for what you get: generic, stupid tactical design; sorry, if I'm getting tactical knives I'm getting Cold Steel. ZT is not known for their good heat-treats so 20CV probably doesn't hold edge very well. I wish both sides are G10, instead, I hate when knife companies do 1/2 titanium and 1/2 G10, it just feels so off. Still uses single-row bearings when $50 clones from China have moved onto double-row bearings. No detent-ramp even though Twosuns and Maxaces have them in their budget knives. Non-skeletonized liners contribute to its hefty 7oz+ weight for only 3.65in of knife. That's 1/2 in per oz which is terrible. All in all just not a very good value for the money.
Lol, yes sir, this is too obvious for any experienced knife fan to see. No one buys these anywhere near retail prices
As much as I love ZT and a few other American manufacturers, I have to agree. They’re just not a great value for what you get. Even my much more expensive Hinderer full track has a captured pivot that sits loose in its cutout, single row steel bearings, and sloppy machining in the lockbar... stuff you just never hear about in WE and Reate knives.
@@hityoutwo Every one of my ZT's have been perfect. 3 out of 4 of my We's have had issues.
Multi-row bearings mean nothing. They are a gimmick. I agree the 0308 is a bit porky, but they have the 0452.
@@sheltermonkey6065 My old ZTs like my 0200 and 0301 were perfect but my newer ones all leave something to be desired. I’ve also got WE knives that were flawed too so def can’t say they’re perfect either.
Definitely no thanks
Overpriced by about $200. ZT and Kershaw have been really boring the last few years.
What a lame pocket clip for the price.. kinda turns me off.
