@@Demonslate ah just ignore it, he's simply making some money for himself so je can keep making content.
Larys' monologue at the end is reminiscent of Littlefinger's "chaos is a ladder" monologue. Even the "love is a downfall" is basically the exact opposite version.
As soon as he appears with the queen at their meal, the first thing I thought of was "oh, so he's Littlefinger"
is Larys' name intentionally a simple cross between Littlefinger and Varys? did GRRM do it like that
@@kevinw712 yes i would say so… his character is sort of like an evil varys. similarly, aemond is just daemon with the d at the beginning as they really are foils/shadow versions of one another
Instead of Littlefinger, this time we have Littlefoot.
As a very small further connection, the two monologues are in the sixth episode of the respective seasons.
I loved the scene with Daemon being asked whether he wants to try and save the child at the cost of the mother. Matt Smith knocked it out of the park with the shift of emotions. I think it shows what a great character he is and I don't think he would have sacrificed his wife like his brother did.
He did kill his first wife. But it seems he’s made a lot of character developments. 🤣 the scene where he was consoling his girls got me so choked up!
love me sum Daemon
@@tired_mom exactly 😂😂😂😂😂
In Fire & Blood, it’s implied Dreamfyre is the dragon who birthed the eggs containing Drogon, Rhaegal & Viserion.
Not Implied but widely believed
@@nickpayne3693 i am hyped about that
@@nickpayne3693 The story in the book is suggesting the eggs that came from Dreamfyre are the ones with Drogon, Rhaegal & Viserion. Is that not the definition of imply, suggestion of the truth? I’m not an English major so I’m not positive.
Who’s dragon is that?
@@mayahyisrael2473 halaena's dragon.
"he'll have to close an eye " was the hardest line of the week
Explain please
@@dishanksingh3383 Aemond ends up taming Vhagar but Vhagar slashes out one of his eyes and he puts a sapphire in the socket
@@karlwittenburg5868 it’s nor Vhagar that slashes out his eye, it’s Lucery’s Velaryon ( his cousin ).
How the heck did you see the blue on dreamfire’s scales?????😂
When Alicent says “To have one child like that is a mistake. To have three is an insult” I feel like it was also a nod to Cersei
I'm freaking love helaena's character even though it was a short scene.
That sesame street Easter egg took me out🤣
17:35 In the books Larys is described as a person who likes to be silent, because every time he opens his mouth he speaks powerful gossip, and would lose his "shimmer" as a "master of whispers". But still, he can't help himself and like every sociopath he goes on to use clothers or quote things that amount to actions he provoked. In this case, putting your family's killers to wear your crests fits that.
He's like Petyr Ramsey and Tyrion all rolled into one.
The face of the delivering nurse is such an awesome Easter egg 🪺 lollll I love it
I wanna see leanors dad reaction to his “grandkids”😂
YES! After all of that effort for, "Velaryons on the throne" stuff and, "Leanor will outgrow that phase" he definitely didn't get what he bargained for.
My main complaint about the series thus far is that there hasn't been nearly enough time spent with all of the Velaryons, including Corlys and Rhaenys. RIP, Laena. I'm sure if we had gotten to know you, losing you would have been even harder. 💙
Daemon briefly shakes his head in disagreement before he sees laena leave
I thought I was the only one who caught that. He said no. I was proud of him in that moment. Definitely showed his growth and love.
Really appreciate that you all take your time with these. You're pointing out way more details and theories than other yters.
If only Lyonel reccomended Rhaenyra marry Ser Harwin they could have been happily married and their children true born Targaryen inheritors of the iron throne. 😵💫😵💫🤧
I cry 🥲
I think the only reason Viserys took his advice in the first place is because he didn't suggest something to better his own house. Everyone was suggesting matches that would benefit themselves and if Lyonel had done the same, I don't believe he'd become hand of the king
@@metalganjaguy he was loyal to Viserys for the decade time skip and long before that he isn’t loyal to him because of one act of selflessness it’s from a lifetime of it, had he known he would have suggested it
@@alexanderdumas- then why did Viserys guess that Lyonel was going to suggest matching Rhanyera and Harwin? If he truly thought he was impartial he would have never made that comment
@@metalganjaguy it was in a moment of rage at the realms treachery not Lyonels he was projecting, read the books Lyonel Strong is his most trusted advisor
Little Aegon BEATING HIS MEAT IN THE WINDOW THO
😂😂 just shows what type of king this kids guna be
That window has been through a lot.
I feel sad about the death of Ser Harwin
I appreciate you giving Joe the Magician a shout-out! He focused on the Strongs soon after the book came out. Larys becoming this prominent is a big win for fandom.
I don't think Helaena is a "greenseer" as that is the term used by the Children of the Forest and First Men. Maybe if Luke or Jace showed prophecy skills (since the Strongs trace their lineage to the First Men like the Starks). I think she's a "dreamer" like Daenys the Dreamer or Daeron the Drunk. That is the term Targaryens use to refer to their prophecy makers. It's just not been proven in the text that they are the same thing/the source of the magic is the same. I would posit that Targaryen magic comes from the Blood Magic practiced in Valyria. You may recall Viserys himself said he wished he had this gift earlier in the season.
Though of course Bloodraven seems to have both abilities since his father was a Targaryen and his mother had blood of the First Men. (And possibly Jon Snow as well.)
Agree, I immediately thought Dreamer too of Helaena
yeah i agree, helaena's not a greenseer, she's a dragon dreamer. the targs do not have first men blood or at least not that we know of (yet)
Larys is definitely a greenseer 🐀
@@Tsukiakari-qb3tk this!! greenseers like Bran and Brynden Rivers have both blood from the First Men, also it is very very rare to be one, so if it would be rare to be a warg but to be greenseer is finding a needle in a haystack of wargs
Two observations: Why did voss feel the need to call Vicerys' model "pathetic?" Helaena would be Jace's aunt, not his niece. (White haired aunt, dark haired nephew. Get it?)
Prophetic**
@@p_rob_hob205 he definitely says "pathetic". I'm not sure why though.
Along with Aegon The Dragon’s Painted table
I’m surprised the kings missing hand wasn’t mentioned. With so much time passing the king’s left hand (if I remember correctly) is now completely gone after the infection he got which lead to him losing his fingers. In the scenes he is in there is just a sleeve hanging by his side. I assume this is why Eddard is building his miniature kings landing now, because the king simply cannot do it with one hand
Isn’t that the same window that Tommen jumped from in GoT?
Yeah 😂
If you listen closely he was saying for my dead homies.
@@evaristoquiroz3806 Millions have lept from that window 😆
I don't think so. Aegons view was water. Even if the Sept wasn't built yet it would be land in the view.
@@evaristoquiroz3806 Get out. 🤣
Thank you for your continued hard work NR! Great video, keep em coming!
I look forward to these videos every week!! So good!!
The beginning of this episode was directorial genius
I like how they actually changed actor due to age gap between the episode. But then we have Ser Criston looking exactly the same :D
Not true! He got a haircut 😝
Always look forward to your breaks down, your insights are always appreciated. Thank you!
"pathetic model train set of Valyria"
Super harsh for something that looks really good.
Jace and Luke, The “Strong Boys” aren’t Aegon and Aemond’s cousins, they are the twos nephews as they’re older half-sister is their mother just thought to point that out
Aren't Alicente's children techically Rhaenya's kids uncles? Not cousins
Yeah. So it'll be an aunt to the bastard nephew 16:02 mark
Either way, it seems like a dangerous thing to giggle at the queen.
Uncles and Aunt, yes. Because Alicents kids are half siblings to Rhaenya (same dad, different moms).
Yep, I caught that
@@MzArnett1 yes thank you! He did say cousins
That single shot is low key gangster cinematography. I had to play that back… DID THEY JUST DO THAT?! 🔥
I love your videos, you tend to catch a lot that others miss!
That was the most emotional 3 minutes of Aegon’s life ever.
Always so good! And quick this time!
Appreciate the Joe Magician shout out! He really makes some wonderful ASOIAF videos. His videos on the tradegy of Summerhall and actually all on House Strong are worth the watch.
There are numerous shots in this series that peek through small openings, especially in Rhaenyra's room and the small council chamber. The presence of a weirwood tree in most of the episodes is also quite notable. If Larys isn't the greenseer or warg, there is certainly one somewhere. Perhaps it's Bran warging into the past to observe events?
I think it's a reach but since bran is the three eyed raven I wouldn't be surprised to see him lurking in one of the episodes
I like to think it's showing the old gods seeing what's happening, before Rhaenyra's grandson Baelor cuts them down.
Been checking my UA-cam every hour waiting for this😭😭
I need you on audible, you keep me hooked!
Yessss i was waiting for this
I love the idea Daemon starts to read a lot. That means he’s taking the Throne
Been thinking about this break dahn since Sunday night
Keep up the good work. I really enjoy reviews. This is the way….
for me this is the best review of the episode! Only one that mentions ser Harwin's sigel and identified the firefly symbol
Good job! 👍 👍
In the wise words of Maester Aemon: "love is the death of duty"
You guys are amazing!!
Lord Larys is seen sniffing a hibiscus flower in this episode as well as in the previous episode. Interestingly these flowers generally have no scent.
10:40 "the things we do for love" most epic moment on NR
The subtitles are what makes this series the best out at the moment. Especially when compared to other fantasy series currently out right now
That was great! Thanks!
The cadence/enunciation of Larys Strong’s voiceover (near the end of the episode), is reminiscent of Voldemort’s in the Battle of Hogwarts when he recalls his army. Cold-hearted.
Love The Offspring reference at the beginning.
That Larys monologue “love is a downfall”, “children are a weakness” reminded me a bit of Littlefinger’s “Chaos is a ladder” monologue to Varys.
(I know they’re technically not monologues as Larys talks to Alicent and LF to Varys, but since they zone out of the main conversation to other characters, Jon & Ygritte at the Wall and Daemon, Rhaena & Baela at Pentos)
SCREENCRUSH much?
He is the littlefinger of this story.
@@samuelcrows More like Varys, because he’s a spy…. I know technically Otto was a spy too but, Larys seems more like Varys, in that his words are more manipulative than constructive
YES, I was about to comment this exact same thing, Larys is a huge player, even more than I assumed by the books
@@shekutoronka9791 Larys = Littlefinger + Varys haha
Love that this has just been released and at NR HQ right now there's probably a room full of people losing their shit trying to make a Deadpool 3 Hugh Jackman video as soon as they can
Is Joffreys hair not white when we see Ser Laenor Velaryon holding him at Dragonstone?
Viserys is looking like old Salieri in Amadeus,
Yes! this!
If you want to know why Larys doesn't mind showing his face to those criminals it's because that ain't him. I am betting that is one of the faceless men. The thing that tipped me off to this being a possibility is when he said "a queen makes a wish". That particular manner of speaking seems to be telltale of this assassin brotherhood.
Only problem with that is he says “the queen” not “a queen” subtitles or cc works wonders
He cutt their tongues
I was thinking the same thing!!!
I'm so happy Joe Magician got mentioned in this vid he has so much good content
The boys are not cousins, they are nephews to uncles i keep hearing the same thing on other channels but Rahnera children are nephews to Amon and Aegon
Helaena is the aunt, Jace is the nephew here. Kinda like Jon and Daenerys
yea... the nurse was reacting to the color of the "hair" lmao
Technically the boys are there uncles not cousins
And Helena is the Aunt not the Niece...
@@blaze556922 🎉
@@blaze556922 technically it’s “their” not the unquoted their.
I love your analysis almost as much as I love watching H.O.D. ❤ keep up the good work!
I second that. I get equally excited
Did anyone else get homelander vibes when Aegon was tugging his love sausage out the window ?
Bruh yess
How cool would it be if they showed us in the last episode that everything we've seen in house of dragon was threw bran using his powers
I was pretty thrown off by how Raenera looks 40 and Ser Criston still looks 25.
Larys, too! I want to age like those two!
I guess Helaena is a Hufflepuff
Your comment hits so hard! 🤣
Not a Hufflepuff!🤣🤣🤣
I wouldn't jump to assume we'll get the aged up kids next episode just because it was in the preview. We have had multiple previews with the older alicent and rhaenrys, yet we didn't see them until episode 6.
How Vyseris made it for another 10 years is a mystery to me. I actually thought he had died at the end of the previous episode.
The 4th child of Alicent & Viserys, named Daeron, should be the same age as Jace (Around 10 last episode) According to the book Prince Daeron was sent to squire for Lord Hightower in Oldtown when he was 6. He doesnt return to Kings Landing until years later.
Nah. He's the same age as Joffrey. And he went to Oldtown at age 12. Not 6.
Yay someone who knows what they’re talking about!!
I’m not sure how innocent Lord Lyonel strong is in all this as he got Ser Harwin to rescue Princess Rhaenyra when the fight broke out at the betrothal ceremony in Ep5. They were also dancing before Daemon cut in. That must’ve kicked off their relationship.
Great detail. I always enjoy your vides but I just want to point out that Aegon and Aemon are the uncles of the Strong/Velaryon boys. Not their cousins. The Targaryen boys are half brothers of their mother.
Are we just going to ignore that Vhagar's final relunctant scream in the scene sounded like a literal "NOOOOOO"?
Larys pin is a honey bee, he's making the honey that alicent pours into the kings ear and the bee pollenates the flour
Lord Larys Strong also knew that Alicent Hightower knew something that he did not.
I did think the Tully's names were hilarious when I read them. Especially Elmo which really came out of nowhere. Elmo and Kermit.
JRRT was what the world needed
I always thought the rats were just planting the seeds for the introduction of Blood and Cheese later...
8:02 what sword is that tucked away in the roots around the Three Eyed Raven? Longclaw?
Lets goo🔥👍🏻
The no legs is the kid that breaks his legs jumping off of a dragon
Voss for the win with the Gandalf impersonation.
I can't place the actor who played the doctor who was trying to birth Daemon's son but he looks all kinds of familiar!
Larys marked the criminals so they could hide amongst the servants after the fire
you have missed the last scene where the baby is shown with white hair while its being held on the bridge
Really?
Aegon’s nephews, boy his cousins.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 for your Gandalf.
Helena/ Aegon: aunt and uncle (Rheanyras siblings)
Jace/ Luke: nephews
Is that you, Sir Ian McKellen?!
GRRM: 'What should I name this master of whispers? Hmm Varys was really good name... I got it! Larys!'
Is it me only ? I started to feel some sort of magical surrealism vibe in filming episode 6
Unreal 👏 🙌
Larys warging that rat would be so op
This is how you make an interesting series
I enjoyed it
Guaranteed blood and cheese use rhaenyra's secret door to do their deed, used it way too much to not have it be significant later on
Green seers! Yay!
this episode needs more dragons
I don't know how other people live, but I find it funny when I'm asked to scan the "qr" code, on the contraption that I could scan the "qr" code on. I'm both too broke, and too technically ingorant, to figure this out.
My QR reader app/Google Photos is able to scan images saved to my phone so I just take a screen shot (typically by pressing the power button and one of the volume buttons.)
You called the kids cousins but they’re actually nephews to Aegon and his brother and sister. I’m hype I noticed this 😅
The criminals wear the Firefly, so they can move in and out of the castle without being sus.
Wait... are you saying the Tully's that were around during the Dance of Dragons were named Grover, Oscar, Elmo and freaking Kermit???
WHAT
