    A: The exhaust manifolds had 4 different revisions, but the updated exhaust manifold design with the improved collector didn't come until 2014, not 2013. In fact, half production year 2014 would have had the previous manifold design.
    B: Steering lock failure isn't a big problem, in fact you can simply pull a fuse to disable the steering lock and you'll never have the issue.
    C: All 2012 model year cars got the water to oil cooler. Any car built from 08/11 production date + had it.
    D: There was never a revision to the CSC. Never. If you buy a new CSC, it's the exact same part installed in 2009-2020 year model cars.
    I agree, a 14+ is the better car to buy but not because of the reasons you've mentioned.

      I want to ask you, did the paint job from factory manufacturer improve in any of the 370z models? there has been a lot of complaint about the poor quality of the paint so im not sure if i should buy one

    • @drizzetsrevenge
      @drizzetsrevenge 2 роки тому

      @@r.k862 the paint quality is the same amongst all years and models, although the newer the model you buy, the better the paint condition generally is. (Less age and wear) a good ceramic coat like Gtechniq will make all the difference.

    • @r.k862
      @r.k862 2 роки тому

      @@drizzetsrevenge Ahh dang! i was really hoping for a good paintjob. So not even the sports touring will make a difference vs a base cheap model? I might get a black color and if i detail it the clearcoat might be soo thin and might lead to problems because not enough protection (cearmic coat hardly adds thickness and protection vs a clearcoat). I need your advice because you look like you know about these cars. In the forums people with 2009 and 2010 models had horrible paintjob when new, i just hope nissan fixed that during later years or if they are the same still. Do you have facebook or email?

    I personally think the 13+ front bumper is a downgrade. It reminds me of the DRL's on a citreon DS3 (we get them in the UK). That was the main reason I went with a 2011. Plus I wanted a low mileage pre 2013 black, manual GT spec which seemed really difficult to find in the UK at the time of searching. Spent 6 months looking. Owned it over 2 1/2 years now and never misses a beat, never let me down as a daily and still enjoy the power delivery. Not that fussed about power on the Z's in NA form. If I am ever fortunate enough to make the 370 my second car, its getting twin turbos.

    The 09 and 10 is still the fastest and lightest stock, especially if you get the 7AT. Plus even the non-Nismo automatics get the paddle shifters. Also the less power thing is bullshit as mine made 284whp stock and weighs in at 3080lbs with no reductions. I agree headers and steering lock failure are the only issues, but those are easily solved. Also the '13+ DRL bumper is a little more on the cute side rather than aggressive lol. So yeah, 13+ are just heavier and slower off the lot, on average. All stock drag records are also held by 2009 to 2011 Zs. Side note... the only Z to beat me was a mostly stock 7AT 13+ model... but I had a shitload of issues at that time related to wrong tire ratios, heavy aftermarket wheels and a cracked diff bushing.

    2012+ 370z is the way to go. it is a known fact in the z community that headers doesn’t do that much for the car, granted the 2014+ does have revised headers you’re better off saving some money by getting a slightly older z and put the aftermarket upgrades on yourself. If you want “significant” gains from headers you have to go long tube. 2009-2011 are the most plagued by the issues he mentions in this video but they are still an excellent platform.

  • @its.Andy1

    The reason I preferred my 2009 370Z than a ‘13+ is because of the front look. It has more of a muscular jaw, if that makes any sense. Yeah having DRL is nice but I didn’t like the look of it. Other than that. I got my own oil cooler kit, fast intentions longtube headers, AAM catback, and AEM intakes lol

      Boosted_ brody Hi. Thanks for getting back to me. Crunch possibly not the right word, it isn’t really that audible,you can feel it through the gear stick. So to get a smooth change I have to clutch right down to the floor and make sure the gear stick is hard over to the left then down then let the clutch up slow. If that makes sense. Hadn’t driven a manual for some 5 years,maybe it’s just me over thinking it.

      IssaSlowZ Appreciate you taking time out to reply. As I was just saying to Boosted Brady...crunch is probably the wrong word. You can feel it through the gear stick. Have to clutch right down,make sure gear stick is hard over,then down and let up slow. Thought it was just me being a bad driver after 5 years in an automatic. Will log my concerns with the dealership,have 8 months warranty left. You know what they’ll say though if they test drive it.

First pull on the dyno jet I did 314whp at 300tq. I’ll link my Instagram cause it’s a video. I thought I’d make maybe 300wheel with just two bolt ons and that’s it. No cap. I don’t know why the 2014s are stronger, maybe I have a factory freak. Since then I’ve done test pipes, wheels and tires, z1 long tube intakes and flushed all the fluids and running a thicker oil for racing. So things have changed but still making good power.

    The 2012 model year ended early like 05/2012 because of the tsunami in 2011. Are you saying any Z built between 08/2011 & 05/2012 got the factory oil cooler?
    Where is the factory oil cooler in the engine bay? Pictures?
    Thanks.

    My 09 made 290whp stock and 328whp 270tq with just exhaust and intake + tune.
    130k miles never even heard of the steering lock problem.
    They never fixed the csc and the lawsuit fell on its face. They changed the clutch to an exedy one in 18 and that’s it. 2020 csc’s will still fail.
    Where’d you get your info from? Doesn’t sound first hand.

    Not really too sure about the accuracy of this video's claims about power difference the headers make . Like even he said : a lot of different factors go into when getting those dyno numbers. Honestly I've seen dyno numbers of everything from 270-280 pre-2013 . If getting a 370Z my only recommendation is to make sure you get a manual for the raw driving experience. To me personally, any difference the headers possibly make is pretty much splitting hairs but if you get a 370Z your going to mod it anyway. Removing your spare tire will close (whatever if any) power to weight ratio difference pretty easily. The only real reason to go for a 2013 and up is for the upgraded oil gallery gaskets. There's no hidden turbo charger in a 2014 lmao.
