Just come across a 12" pipe and a 8 "so I hope to make some myself I liked your comment on a previous message about tracing around a wire coon stretcher great tip I'm going to do a bigger one for beaver great video appreciate it all the best
Thank you very much for showing how you built your set up ..I have being looking for someone that has a set up like that .I like to go to pvc wood is ok but is got their draw backs ..Would you be kind enough to give me the measurements of the platform where the beam sets ..I would like that so I have an idea thank you for you video from northern mi
Mario the base is 36 wide by 28 in depth . The piece the beam sits on is 31 inches on the top side ,which could change to fit YOUR height. Make the measurements to fit YOU to be a comfortable working height.
I was looking to buy some 12 inch pvc hard to find. But what I do see in scraps around here that's thrown away is the black poly pipe 12 inches that they use and cut up into small sections with a chain saw for the well pads?
Hey I know this is old but been wanting to make some pvc fleshers and was wondering where in the world can I get some PVC with that circumference and thickness
Check out construction sites , do a little dumpster diving , there is always a busted piece of pipe or an end cut laying around big building sites. took me a while to find pipe too but its out there if you look hard enough.
I have made many different size boards but the one I use the most was traced off a #5 wire coon stretcher . Kinda all depends on what critters your gonna be fleshing. Bigger boards for bigger critters smaller boards for smaller critters.
I'm not a trapper, but I'm a hunter. And usually I never keep the hide, but I've always felt bad for getting rid of it instead of keeping it and tanning it to use it. I was curious about what size fleshing board I need for fleshing deer, bear elk, pretty much any big game. Also what fleshing knife should I look for. Also if I do the drying process instead of using salt, do I still have to do a salt bath before applying the tanning solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I would go with an 8 or 9 inch board for big game hides. Fleshing knives are a get what you pay for kinda deal. Invest in a good knife and it will make your job much easier. i prefer the Caribou but there are many other good quality knives out there Post is another good one . Another is the Necker Its a little cheaper but not as good quality as the others mentioned. As for tanning there are more ways to tan than stars in the sky just follow the directions on whatever you are using and you should be good.
act I was wondering if you could give me a better picture of the frame that you have on your PVC flushing set up just a picture of it and the dimensions cuz I know you're giving the dimensions but I can't see if you know what I mean pretty but it's a lot easier if I see it at the dimensions if you don't mind
@@paulohanlon2369 I suppose in the off season i could post up a video on making stretcher boards. kinda busy now trappin ,huntin and putting up fur, just aint enough hours in the day for this is the busy season for me. I will get it done at some point.

Where do you get this size pipe I’ve called everywhere no one has em
Find broken sections at construction sites

Good gravy! The sound of the knife going over the edges of that board makes my teeth vibrate...UGH!

Nice set up, diggin the beard 👍🏼. Got a new sub here cheers.
Thanks ,you guys look like your having some fun up there! Nice trapping grounds. like them little weasels.
do you ever have any problems with hair falling out of your fox skins?
No never have had that problem . Properly skinned ,fleshed and dried that should not happen.
Love your videos! Do you make your own stretching racks or do you buy them?
Make my own, I run a sawmill so i have plenty of lumber for making stretcher boards
@@cttrapperman5555 Could you make a tutorial on how to make one?

What are the dimensions on the board you had for a deer?
I made that one 9 inch at the widest part tapered to 7 at the front . But wider would be a bit better . I dont flesh many deer .
What is the length of your fleshing beams??
45 inches
Yes i forgot to say tjat is the nices coon I ever see you must got that on mid winter
Great video! Cheers, just subbed!👍
Thank You
Make and sell them
I wish my coons and skunks come out like your coon
just keep at it ,the more you do the better you will get at it.
