This is the first song for me to learn, hit a wall doing the beginners course and started going backwards, but this has kicked the enthusiasm into overdrive, thanks this is great
Exactly. I think guitar teachers should throw students a bone right off the bat and then get into the courses. My first guitar lesson I asked my teacher to teach me Smoke on the Water. He laughed and 6 weeks in I was still learning Shoe Fly. I quit after that.
I've seen AC/DC lots of times, with Brian Johnson, lead Singer. But right after Bon Scott passed. They Did a Tribute to AC/DC in the Fox Theater in Atlanta, I went to. They showed a AC/DC Concert on the Big Screen, and Cranked Up the Volume, It was like seeing AC/DC Old School, It Was GREAT!!
Ever since I heard of AC/DC it was my biggest wish to see theme at least once on a concert, and in may I got the chance and it was the best thing in my life yet. Hope you got to see theme since you posted this. It is really worth every last penny.
Justin I have been fortunate enough to see AC/DC twice in my 45 year life. The first show was in 1974 (I was 5 years old) and was, of course, the '74 Jailbreak tour. The second was their Thunderstruck tour (at the now demolished Market Square Arena in Indianapolis, Indiana). I was totally mesmerized by Angus Youngs' talent and his outgrown school uniform. He was definately the main focus of each show with his stage antics and ability to absolutely shred on the guitar while climbing bass bins and stomping across stage. I always had great seats and backstage passes (due to being related to people everyone wanted on their guest list). I will try to dig out the old photo albums and send you some pictures (ones suitable for enlarging and framing). Nobody, in my opinion, should not have some sort of AC/DC concert memorabilia! I will get back to you when I find the correct album....OH, the fingernail thing, we discussed about 2 weeks ago, works great....who would have thought...lol In music, Randy G.
When I'm learning something new to me, although being very experienced, I come to your site for speed and you invariably have what I want mapped out. But god knows what the neighbours think of a 75 year old bashing out this stuff. Thanks a lot.
Justin, I have been watching your lessons for a few years now and I must say, YOU ARE THE MAN!! Heck I feel like I know ya, from South Alabama BABY, USA. Thank you so much for sharing, you even talk like Angus to an extent, ROCK ON!! And I was fortunate to see them perform Live ONE Time, on the Fly on the Wall Tour, AWESOME!!
You're a class A teacher Justin. Props to the ops. Really man. So well explained, with no needless information while maintaining the clarity of the lesson! Keep up the good work that you are doing!
seen ac/dc twice in 1991 razors edge tour and in 2009 black ice tour, def my fave live band..hopefully they will tour again and you will see them,i hope to see them one more time before they pack in..good on ya mate..btw been listening to you on radio 2 here in the uk,get more people playing the world will be a better place
Just wanted to say that I enjoyed this lesson. I'll check out more of your lessons when I get this one down through the solo. I'm fairly new to playing but this helped tremendously.
Many thanks for the super thanks and supporting the channel. It means a lot. Cheers 😊 | Richard_close2u | JustinGuitar Official Guide & Approved Teacher www.justinguitar.com
I saw them in 1979 on Highway to Hell Tour. I was lucky. The ticket said Ted Nugent and special guest. Turned out the special guest was AC⚡DC. They blew the roof off of that place!🎸🎸🎸🎶🎵🎼
Cool, thanks! There's over 600 song lessons for free here: www.justinguitar.com/songs Cheers 😊 | close2u | JustinGuitar Official Guide [ www.justinguitar.com/ ] & Moderator on JustinGuitar Forum
Justin tends not to do that in the video as everybody has different guitars / amps / pedals etc. Cheers 😊 | close2u | JustinGuitar Official Guide & Moderator on JustinGuitar Forum [ www.justinguitar.com/ ]
Great videos and a great teacher!! I found a third way to make the intro D chord with the F# root, and that's a bit easier for my current skills. Standard D major chord (with the high string muted) and my thumb fretting the F# and muting the A string at the same time. Pretty much like that chord you show further along in the video, but with high E mutted. Hope it helps someone. :)
Thanks Justin love acdc , grew up,with them , saw them three times first time was at a high school dance, and they were wearing silk flares ,hahaha, sound great though , question , in during the solo are they playing the verse , or chorus , Cheers Steve from Oz.
Great lesson, as always :) anyway I've seen many videos where Angus is using down-down-up strokes in D/F# and G chords changing. You can hear that the thinnest strings come first :) Please do more AC/DC lessons :)
I usually play G with 3 notes, but you have an extra note. Is there a reason for that. I usually play both the E strings and the A string, and I don't hold the note on the B string.
A truly excellent lesson, love the fact you gave as much emphasis to the feel as the notes which is of course a key thing for this band. 10/10 would recommend to a friend, subbed!
Excellent teacher. No flash or attitude just clear concise instruction. Quality!!

Love this thanks. Would be really helpful if the tuning and amp settings were also offered at the beginning.
Justin tends not to do that in the video as everybody has different guitars / amps / pedals etc. Cheers 😊

Great lesson, as always :) anyway I've seen many videos where Angus is using down-down-up strokes in D/F# and G chords changing. You can hear that the thinnest strings come first :)

Well I have been doing it wrong on the F#. I use my thumb wrapped around.
you look a bit like the great norm macdonald. well done
I usually play G with 3 notes, but you have an extra note. Is there a reason for that. I usually play both the E strings and the A string, and I don't hold the note on the B string.
Super***********
Couldn't find a tutorial for the cello so I'm going to be like water and adaptXD
Can you give me the song order please Justin?
Is the song in standard tuning?
+Tanuj Singh yep although AC/DC tend to play it in e flat live
I always get stuck on the 2nd chord it’s hard to get my pinky to stay when I move my ring to the 2nd fret
Disliker's are tossers. Good lesson.
Isn't this supposed to be E flat standard tuning?
Just use your thumb for the F note and play the full D
where can I find one of those MY signature guitars ?? The guitar that you have not the 10k dollars custom shop model..
did u edit this video? after 8 years?
Those strings are called E (low) A D G B and E (high)
Eddy Ate Dynamite Good Bye Eddy
HaystackGaming01 That was my favorite thing my guitar teacher taught me when I first started learning guitar.
this is probably a stupid question but does it matter if i play songs like this on acoustic guitar?
Bryce Pasop Sure! just not that same heavy distorted sound, but a guitar is a guitar.Same set up..6 strings, same frets. no difference.
PSA: the original recording of this is tuned a quarter step down. (halfway between standard tuning and e flat)
wish more teachers taught this
can somebody tell me what's being played while the solo is on? like what chords
+Andreas Wentoft The Solo is wrong, look up www.ultimate-guitar.com and type in Highway to Hell Solo.
It's the corus
dude, nice guitar and stuff...but u need a marshall
Tabs for the solo riff?
Justin, many thanks for all the great tutorials (sorry, I accidentally hit the dislike button on one of the vids)
whats better (overall) fender or ibanez
It depends on your personal preferences. Know what sound you are after :)
such an awesome teacher. thanks for all these lessons!
I wish I could see the strumming for the solo..
The tone of that setup is incredible.
More led zep please
A truly excellent lesson, love the fact you gave as much emphasis to the feel as the notes which is of course a key thing for this band. 10/10 would recommend to a friend, subbed!
