    Picked up the a Zotak 3060ti. It is smaller than I thought but the thing is pretty powerful and loud. Undervolting it does the trip and surprisingly gives higher FQ boosts because it stays cooler.

    One thing that is missing here is information about ability to correct fan speed curves. Not every model on the market has 0 rpm mode (when idle) for example. Gainword idles at 0 rpm but than starts at 30% fan speed and it's unable to operate in 0 - 30% fan speed range at all. These are important factors.

      why is it bad when it has a plastic backplate?

    • @scale...3d
      @scale...3d 2 роки тому +3

      @@flewflu226 plastic backplates make the card look and feel cheap, and really kill the whole point of a backplate which is to strengthen the PCB. Well it does strenghten the PCB but not to the extent of a metal backplate. And to add up, metal backplates also help reduce temperatures as heat could be dissipated into them with thermal pads.

    I get the gist, that as long as comparing different RTX 3060ti, they are in the same ball-park, but I wonder why the number of Pcie plugs required indicates something different?
    Owner of an MSI, Ventis X3-3060ti. My Graphics card has one 8 pin power connector, MSI also offers the 3060 Ti GAMING X TRIO that uses two 8pin Pcie connectors.
    No buyer's remorse- but I still have a feeling the Gaming X trio would have been a better card, with better power control. Is this for better Overclocking potential? Would the difference even appear to someone not tweaking their PC?
    I think some of the reason MSI offers different tiers of cards within the same family is to get the consumer to spend extra money on the bragging rights, but I also think their is some legitimacy to buying the higher priced card.
