Sorry for my somewhat sickly voice.
See Frank Sinatra's new marker here: ua-cam.com/video/rr71Xb6IABk/v-deo.html
Also, correction: while Frank Scully’s name has been well known in UFO lore since the 50s, and likely played a role in influencing the X-Files, the primary inspiration for Dana Scully’s name came from Dodgers sportscaster, Vin Scully.
What!
Great selection of grave sites. Frank Sinatra and Danny Kaye were, in my honest opinion, THE GREATEST over-all talents and entertainers of the 20th Century. On the female side: it was the great Judy Garland.
Doggett was another baseball announcer....Robert Patrick's character got his namesake from him.
I really enjoy your videos you Post I was born in Los Angeles and then my mom and dad and brothers and sister and I left Los Angeles and moved to Texas I sure do miss California i lost my mom when I was 21 then I lost my dad when I 30 then I was 34 when I lost my oldest brother I have one brother and sister left I have always liked going to cemeteries and looking for the oldest one's I can find but your videos has made it awesome to watch thank you so much for your videos have a great day
wow amazing
My father, my brother, and my grandmother, are all at Desert Memorial.
My father was the owner of the Ingleside Inn for 42 years til his death in 2016.
Across the driveway from Sinatra.
Dad was a close friend of Mr Sinatra as well as Mr Rizzo and Mr. Bono.
Dad was a good friend of Sonny as well.
Dad knew alot of famous celebs because he was a popular restaurant owner.
I attended Sonny Bono' funeral with my wife and oldest daughter.
It was so hectic with so many celebs, politicians,
and news crews with most streets around St Josephs closed to the public.
I love and miss you Dad, Lonny, and Nana🥺😭💔❤
ALL RIGHT! My freezing cold, boring Saturday just got a whole lot better!!
Same here from France :p
NOT BAD JL OUT
How many out there having a frozen boring Saturday? From Scotland me2
Well 120 Deg F (46 C) here in Australia...roasting hot
Frank Sinatra sung Love and Marriage. The theme song of Married with Children. Holy shit, mind-blown
Wait u did not now that
I didn't know that either. I just thought it was a song.... Didn't think of who the voice was
this is sadly no longer the theme for Married with Children
It's obviously Sinatra. First time I saw an episode, (which had to be about the second or third of the first season..) when I saw the fountain spurting and the Song started...It made it that much cooler. And I really loved the first season or two, when Marcie's first husband, Steve, was on. It was alot funnier then, and Steve and Al had great chemistry together. Although it was SUPPOSED to be in Chicago, it was still filmed in LA. I really liked that show the first couple of years ..it was funny.
what's it feel like being the absolute last person on the face of the Earth to know something?
My grandparents are buried a few rows away from Frank Sinatra's grave. I've been visiting and vlogging this cemetery for years, but it's so nice to watch your beautiful documentary on my favorite cemetery. This will be my final resting place too, so thanks for doing such a wonderful job!
I'm planting the seeds of a dark graveyard guy collaboration.... Mr Dark... Meet Graveyard guy...
Really?
I think the two best are arthur dark and steve the graveyard guy
Hi Steve ! I'm watching this now in 2022 August..I'm on your channels all the time but I've been checking this one out recently. It's pretty good but you're my favorite of course 🥰
I adored William Powell. So sorry his life held so much pain.
Nancy Bennett William and Myrna Loy are my favorites. I watch the Thin Man movies over and over.
Thank you so much for visiting Sonny Bono!!!!!!!
I can't believe that Frank Sinatra doesn't have a huge mausoleum devoted to him, it just seems so anti-Frank to have just a flat stone. Same with Busby Berkeley, especially since he was so fond of such big spectacular musical numbers.
I thought the same thing. Sinatra was a legend, seems so out of place that he has such a humble low profile marker.
He didn't want anything fancy for himself, he wasnt the typed that liked attention. I also agree that Frank Sinatra should have a statue of him, a huge picture of him, that grave plaque seems so small and average compared to what he gave to the world, he was one of the greatest star's ever and he only has a small plaque...But his wishes was not to be elabrate and wanted to be with his folks and family. He didn't want anything big. He was an extraordinary man, a real gentleman and very classy man,
RogerClyne IsAGod frank was a normal guy!! look at Elvis he's in the ground.
@@victorialouden1912 I'm not complaining, I'm just surprised & kinda glad because I was fully expecting a spectacle. Mostly because sometimes even though the deceased wants a small stone the remaining family wants the exact opposite & will put up a grand spectacle against the deceased's wishes, especially if they can afford it. Even if it's in the will there are ways around that too.
I'm sure there's plenty of places with Sinatra statues to visit if you want to see that kind of thing.
He did not have an over-inflated sense of self.
I’m shocked at how plain Frank Sinatra’s grave is. I thought he would have had a more elaborate resting place like Michael Jackson. Loved the tour.
Mary coleman. If you read previous comments you would know. Basically thats what he wanted and nothing fancy. I thought the same thing
I thought Frank Sinatra was buried in California. It’s nice to know I can take a trip to New York to see a lot of the departed
Arthur Dark needs to do a History of Hollywood series. Something that goes in depth about old shows and movies and examines how they were made and what the working relationship was between the stars. His voice over work is exquisite.
Great video! I love how you show bits of movies or pictures of these people so we can see what they looked like.
Me too!
You'd think that ol' Blue Eyes would have a statue or mausoleum with his name on it - he was that popular! Heck, the whole Rat Pack should've been laid to rest together in Vegas... just like their favorite hangout was in November of 1996. RIP Frankie Sinatra...
Kevin Baker True, I was a little surprised at Sinatra’s modest resting place myself. Same with John Wayne.
Kevin Baker I must admit I’m very surprised about how simple his grave is as well given he is such a monumental legend. But maybe it is in accordance with his wishes to keep it simple and his children wanted to be respectful of that.
Simply Red I agree with you on that. Many Hollywood legends have simple markers, and some don't have any markers at all! It all depends on their final wishes. For example, John Wayne didn't have a marker for many years, and now he does.
He did not have an over-inflated sense of self.
You are finally back Arthur and it's always a treat to watch your great work. I was surprised to see Frank Sinatra's graveyard. He was among the greatest. His final resting place is so humble compare to his flamboyant life.
THANK YOU for including the causes of death. I hate when the videos don't.
I have no idea why I'm so drawn to this channel and these graveyard tours, but I love it. The content, the research, all of it leads me to deeper thoughts of the times of the past that I didn't know much about until I watched these. I love what you're doing and thank you!
Yay!!!! I am a William Powell fan! Love him!! And Betty Hutton? Such a talent!!! Thank you so much Arthur!!
retrobebop61 William is so much fun to watch, especially with my favorite actress Myrna Loy in all the Thin Man movies.
Welcome back, old friend. Always a pleasure to see a new video from you. As always, well done and thank you.
Well, looks like I'll have 'Hotel California' on the brain for the next three days now lol. So happy to have Hollywood Graveyard back :)
Great to see another HG video! I'm old enough to have watched Howdy Doody on the black and white Dumont TV with the rabbit ears.
and l remember when colour tvs 📺 came in and after vinyls, tapes... I remember standing waiting at a call box to call my boyfriend and for a call to come through, even when we got a house phone ☎️ because we weren't allowed use the it 📞😁. Now I'm watching UA-cam on a phone. Technology isn't all bad l guess 😁😁📱.
Hey, The Dumont Network!!! The original home of Jackie Gleason!!!
How Sweet It Is!!!!
I lived in Palm Springs for 2 years. Loved it. Have gone to this cemetery.
The reason why so many stars went to Palm Springs and made it a desert oasis was because way back then, the movie studios had it in their contracts that their stars were only allowed to travel 100 miles away from the studios when they in the middle of making a movie.
Very great video,Rest in Peace all.Frank Sinatra was very popular in the world.ooh this world is not our home.01.04.19.
It’s always a good day when you see ‘Hollywood Graveyard’ pop up in the new uploads page!
I'M PLEASE BY WHAT I READ THANKS JL OUT
THANKS FOR THE NICE REPLY JL OUT
Another great video. The only thing I don't like is when you say "Finally...." Then I know it's about to end. Fascinating as always!
I concur with you, Bill! I hate "Finally" too!😁
@@clarencejacksonjr. Almost as bad as hearing a woman say "We need to talk"!
I love your videos!! Do you have a cold in this one?
I was a bit surprised that Frank Sinatra wasn't buried in a grander way. It was a nice surprise to see a notification for a new episode. :)
TheKnitch I love when huge celebrities have basic plots. There’s something beautifully simplistic about it.
@@SugaStarr well, it certainly makes a statement on it's own. Celebrity isn't something you can take with you?
@@SugaStarr Well said.
@@TheKnitch I totally agree with you! 😅
Would love to see you tour Highgate Cemetery in London. It's aesthetically beautiful and so many famous names were buried there.
Please, submit to him your own your of the place, he does videos like that
Another Star Cemetery with awesome footage and awesome stories. Thank you, Arthur. Once again, a job well done.
Simply the best series of this genre on UA-cam
Wow! That was a wonderful tour! I didn’t realize that so many really famous people settled in Palm Springs, and that their grave stones were so simple. Thank you as always!
Yesss Mr.Dark!!! Thank You!!!!

@@angelawilliams3665 why you so boring?
Thought Frank Sinatra would have had a more spectacular grave
He remains a mortal human being
Thats what he wanted and nothing fancy
Frank Sinatra spirit: I know right!!!
I thought the same 🇬🇧👍🏻
Yea same here WTF he's Frank Sinatra
Of all the videos I watch, your narration is the BEST. Your voice is so crystal clear and to the point. I love listening to you and watch all your videos. Thank you for that.
I love sonny and Cher. I miss sonny and I hope Cher will love him for eternity. God Bless you Sonny and Cher!
I'm watching these video's from the UK.... Just to say, Thankyou Arthur for the lovely coverage and Guiseppe for the atmospheric music!! I find the whole thing very relaxing ♥️👍
The grave markers at Desert Memorial Park are fading fast.
One of the best yet! So amazed at the modest headstones, especially that of Francis Albert.
i was born in the 70s and would come inside from playing to watch sonny and cher..and noone can top ol blue eyes frank sinatra..
So sorry for your 58 degrees. Greetings from Iowa - 18 degrees. Nothing better on a cold day than to warm up on the couch and enjoy my favorite channel. Thanks!
I live just south of Detriot.. Its 8 degrees out, along with the foot of snow we got!
Love the Sonny and Cher comedy hour!!!
Yeay my cold dark damp day in Ireland just got better. Thank you for the upload.
Your day got better looking at death in the face?! How bad are things in Ireland?? Joking of corse, I feel the same!
@@deekay941 well l guess that's just the kinda gal l am. Don't be scared of death Imani. I enjoy Arthur's vids so much, he puts a lot of work in. If you don't then why are you here???
@@irishcountrygirl78 Good for you!!! I feel the same way!!! I love these videos!
@@deekay941 l see you edited, apologies for being defensive, when you mentioned Ireland my passive aggressive side surfaced, love my country 😁. Didn't realise you were being funny...
@@stanleywheeler404 sure they are so interesting! Legend in every grave 👍😊
Bitterly cold😂, I am expecting over a foot of snow, then -24 windchill on Monday.
Yes! It feels like an age since we've had a new video. Haha
Thank you, sir for these remarkable and wonderful videos. I love the history that you research behind these stars. I remember most of them , so, thank you.
Beautiful video thanks Arthur from the lower RioGrande Valley, Tx 💗
I just watch Rifleman yesterday and saw the guy that always played a villain in a lot of westerns. Thank you so much.
WOW!!! You Always do such Great Work! Was surprised at first by the fact Frank Sinatra's grave was SO Small!!! Yes he's buried with family but would have expected a more fitting grave for the Chairman of the Board! And William Powell! Such an Actor! Anyone young that doesn't know his work that love movies is Truly missing out! I so like the way you include lesser know entertainers! We should always be reminded that they ALL can't be major stars! The story of the young man that stabbed himself in the shower made me cry! I sometimes feel that way! There Must be a better place than here!

William Powell was a phenomenal actor! Love, Love, LOVE him!!
Thats what he wanted and nothing fancy. I thought the same but read previous comments that stated this
Happy Saturday, Notification Squad!!! I got my son with me watching this!
I like the Headstone of William Powell..My all time favorite actor
Wow! I was so amazed to see Howdy Doody ! I watched him every day when i was in elementary school! I remember Buffalo Bob, Clarabelle the clown, and Princess summer fall winter spring! I am 76, so i might be off a little! i am so thrilled when i see all of the way back when videos that you bring to us ! Thank you so much for the memories and quite a few unknown facts that i did not know!
Another great rendition of your grave tours.
I’m surprised when I see the graves of the rich and famous only identified by a modest grave stone. At LakeView cemetery here in Cleveland the mausoleums of the rich and famous of the late nineteenth century stand in sharp contrast.
Your videos are well presented and respectfully pay tribute to the entertainers and icons that so many “baby boomers” remember.
“Thanks for the memories”
He’s being sarcastic about the “cold weather.” I love these videos and I’m happy to see that more people have subscribed.
I have visited Frank here many times. I had no idea so many other great luminaries were here! Thanks, time for another visit!
Yheyyyyy his back,we've missed you my friend, another stellar video, thank you for all that you do 👍👍👍👍👍
I wish my grandma was alive still. We could've watched these together. :(
I love your tours... even though I don't know half of them... but about the windmills... I work for those who develop management systems for them...
RIP Frank Sinatra
Your videos are the best on You Tube! Someone should give you a weekly television program on PBS!
Tamara Figge absolutely I agree with you his television show based using his documentary esc style of videos that would be something I would watch on a daily basis
Great job again !!! You never disappoint thank you
It’s always a lovely surprise when I see a new grave tour uploaded to my feed 😊
Wow great updated vlog loved the video 💖howdy from chilly Michigan we got a snow storm today here🥶❄️my mom loved Howdy Doody when she was a kid😊
Hope your feeling better. Another great video! ❤
My dad sang if I would ever leave you from Camelot when he proposed to my mom.. thank you Frederick Lowe!
If ever I would leave you,
It wouldn't be in springtime....
Love watching anything with William Powell. He just seemed to come across as a genuine nice guy. Also love listening to Frank.
Janie Lang I watch all his movies, especially the Thin Man movies with all time favorite actress Myrna Loy.
Oh and thanks again for the most excellent vid 👍
If you watch Hollywood Graveyard videos long enough everything is tied together nicely
Had been binging these videos, and this one popped up. Happy Saturday all.
Your videos are a humble reminder that we will all die some day. No matter how famous or rich some of these people are, they occupy the same amount of space in the grounds as we will.
Thank you for your great research of the deceased, and your respectful narrative.
Great Arthur! Thanks for a perfect video.
Love the desert, lived in Palm Springs and Desert Hot Springs in 1978. Some old school heavy hitters on this episode. The headstones are very simple and modest in Desert Memorial Park. Sinatra seems to tie the place together. Highlight for me has to be Sonny Bono. But some real historic souls here.
Some cemeteries only allow flat markers.
@@vickiross1025 I'm sure that's it, I like it better than huge gothic ones
Blown away by your featuring the grave of Velma Dawson, "Howdy Doody's Mom." I grew up watching that show, and had the impression that Buffalo Bob Smith was Howdy's creator and voice, as well as TV sidekuck. Thanks also for letting us know Howdy's
current whereabouts. If you ever run out of human subjects, you might consider a vlog on the "resting places" of Charlie McCarthy and friends, Kukla and Ollie, Lamb Chop, Jerry Mahoney, etc., as well as the other Doodyville puppets (maybe just photos and film clips, rather than traipsing all over the country).
JimJoe Tennessee and “Madame” too! 😎
@@Criscilla241
Yes, absolutely! While working in Frankfurt, Germany, in 1982 one of my staff was a friend of Wayland Flowers and had loads of "behind the scenes" stories to tell. Sadly, Wayland died relatively young (a month or so shy of 49) in 1988.
Thanks
Nice work ...
Joe ....
Love Frank Sinatra his voice and those blue eyes
Thank you very much.
Greetings from Germany
Happy new year Arthur So glad youve done another video 😊
I want this guy to give my eulogy. His voice is so calming
I’m glad to see you back Hollywood graveyard
Watching your tour of Palm Springs made me wish I wasn't waiting for a foot of snow in NH.
See your back from the big apple, enjoy your vlog very much. Have a great weekend!
Your graveyard videos are by far the best. You have a beautiful speaking voice. I really appreciate the background info & cause of death. Thanks for doing this.
Interesting!to visit some of our famous people that passed on and remember their lives we enjoyed watching on t.v..
Thanks again Arthur. Sounds like you have a cold. Hope your feeling better
Another great upload ...👍 cannot wait for part 2!
Was surprised at how understated the graves were. Really enjoyed watching.
Glad you are back in Sunny California.
Yes it's Desert Memorial Park, thanks sir Arthur! ☺️👍 With this one of my favorite channels, everyday is All Souls'Day! ✝️ Frank Sinatra is the main attraction of this park. William Powell, Jean Harlow's last husband, was supposed to be buried in Forest Lawn Glendale in the third topmost crypt adjacently just above his wife has been remained empty up to this day I heard.
So look forward to your videos! From snowy 🇨🇦
I just love how simple and modest Mr. Sinatra's headstone is.
Amazing what a tiny site Frank Sinatra has.
I absolutely loooooove these!!! Sounds like you got a cold... 😢 hope you get better! *hugs*
Absolutely fantastic keep it up buddy
Thank-you for doing this video as it was one I requested. I love William Powell. However, thank-you for showing Brad Dexter. The Magnificent Seven is one of my favourite movies so l was glad to see him get a mention. Awesome as always!
Kathy B Brad Dexter🕯
Seeing Sinatra's head stone made me start weeping.
where have you been? love your vids and the background music just made my weekend!
Always love your videos, Arthur!~ Keep up the great work! It's really a strange feeling seeing a lot of stars that lived up to the early 2000s and then you think, oh, that was recent. But in reality, most have been dead for over a decade. Amazing how time flies. Still can't believe we're in 2019 already.
So glad you produced another video! I kept looking and looking for it. I know that you do them on your own time, as well as your own dime, but I thoroughly enjoy them. Thanks.
Was going to wait on till Sunday to watch but...couldnt hold on . Great video as always.
Another great video! No doubt a lot of time, effort, research and passion go into each episode. Great production values, scripting and narration too. I'm already looking forward to the next one.
Awesome video! Definitely my favorite channel thanks for all the work you do in making these videos. I know it has got to be ALOT of work to film and research all of these people just wanted to say thank you because I really enjoy the videos and appreciate all the hard work!
I live in palm springs and I really appreciate you coming down here!
my grandpa was buried with jack daniels too.. @8:51
