I was completely blown away to see my friend's grave in this video. Debbie Stone & I were friends, and she dated my big brother. I remember her death, and how sad it was that she died at Disneyland. She liked that job and would sneak us in for free sometimes if she was working. I was shocked to see my friend's picture pop up on the screen. RIP my friend, we miss you.

I kinda like the less known ones more than the A-listers. It's like a loving tribute to humanity itself when you talk about them.

I will never be as enthusiastic about graveyards as Mr. Dark. It is the history and stories I like. He is an accomplished story teller.
The story of Debbie Stone was particularly heartbreaking.
At age 3 my sister (age 18 then) took me to church at Emmanuel Lutheran in N. Hollywood where I almost fell off the pew when the choir began singing and I heard Tony the Tiger! I have sung in choirs since grade school & always give Thurl Ravencroft the credit for inspiring my interest in church choirs.
Carolyn Jones was so beautiful with her bewildering eyes. Williams’ music can only be classified as national treasures. As always, great episode Arthur!!!!
Her first movie was Theater of Blood and then she was on Batman and Wonder Woman as 2queens: Queen Hippolyta and Marsha Queen of Diamonds 💎

And another fine presentation by Mr. Dark. One thing I've noticed is that a lot of the older stars who served in the military, have that on their headstone rather than their acting/singing career. Obviously service to country was more important to them. For those, thank you for your service.

Many times that’s the only headstone they get.
It unfortunately doesn’t always represent the deceased’s ultimate wishes.

Note: These (Tulpas) are not sentient beings, but a manifestation of the subconscious mind through neural plasticity via neurochemical imbalancing inducing meditation. Imagine the euphoria experienced by the average person for believing they won a million dollars on a scratch off ticket (it could be a joke ticket yet as long as they believe). Now imagine someone having the same sensations, but being convinced it's a paranormal contact for believing John 3:16.
We evolved to seek pleasure (eating/reproduction), and avoid getting killed (tiger in the grass/competing neighbor/harsh enviroment). With our increased cognitive abilities we made up other reasons for pleasure, and survival beyond basic necessity. The Dopamine Reward System over time bridges gaps in pathways in order to form habits in order to repeat behaviors, and or thoughts. The often cited testimony of getting off an addiction thanks to a God is just a placebo replacement due to the power of the mind (an AA participant I heard of chose to worship the radiator in his room instead of an higher power, and became sober).
Ancient people did not know the neurosciences. Philo of Alexandria thought that joy came from Heaven by way of God's chief archangel the "Divine Word/Right Reason (Logos)".

Kind of ironic that the men who founded Fender and Rickenbacker are interred in the same cemetery. Sad that so many of today’s names died quite young. Thanks for another installment, Arthur. I always appreciate your work.
Jim, and sad that people died at their own hands (this and other videos) over years and years. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Hollywood and Rock 'n Roll quest for fame has claimed many. Very sad.

@@scottielover5415 i wouldn't say depression is a temporary problem. people in the arts aren't known for their stable mental states, and given their money and notoriety it's easy to get drugs some used to ease their pain.

If you haven't read The Hiding Place by Corrie ten Boom, do it. It's one of the most powerful books ever written.
I read it in high school, back in the 70s, and then saw the film. Unforgettable story. She was an amazing woman. So glad she's been featured here, I had no idea where she was buried.

She was a lovely looking young woman - so sad that she died so very young. She wouldn't have been able to be buried in Pere Lachaise Cemetery beside Jim Morrison because to be buried there you have to die in Paris.

It was a very pleasant surprise to see Corrie Ten Boom's grave in this video! Thank you for including her in this video. I read her book, "The Hiding Place", about ten years ago and was amazed by her story, determination, and faith. That book is a must-read for those who enjoy faith-based stories.

Surrounded by talent here in OC. I met Thurl Ravenscroft. He was a friend of my landlord. Thurl also did the live narration to the annual Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach.

Florence Griffith-Joyner 💖 after seeing her at Olympia I was thrilled. She was how she wanted to be and I thought that was great.

Love nothing more than putting the earphones in and listening to these videos as I'm going to sleep. Calming voice and background soundtrack do it for me. Not that the videos are boring..far from it!
I have watched every single HG video made. However, this is the first time I have commented on the program. This show is HANDS DOWN the best of its type on YT. The production value is through the roof and Mr. "Arthur Dark" couldn't do a better job guiding us through the Lands of the Dead, IMHO. And his eating Ghirardelli chocolate in front of Mr. G's mausoleum warmed the cockles of my heart! Such good childhood memories I have of Ghirardelli Square and the sight smell of warm chocolate being mixed right on site many, many moons ago! Right on, Arthur! :)

Clyde Bruckman is arguablly the best installment of the X Files. Had no idea of the background that inspired it. Your series is so good at filling in the small details of cultural history. Thanks.
Because it's a sci-fi show, it never occurred to me that there was a real life Clyde Bruckman! Sadly, even the actor who played him is gone. RIP Peter Boyle. He died in 2006 at age 71. To me, he was a familiar figure through the early 90s in movies such as The Dream Team as a mental patient who struggled to prove his innocence when his doctor is assaulted. I of course also saw him in the X-Files playing Clyde Bruckman. He was memorable as Jim Belushi's tough as nails boss in the cop drama Red Heat, one of the first movies in the west actually filmed inside Moscow's Red Square. My favorite line was from that movie

I remember that young lady who died at Disneyland; I visited the park shortly after it happened. Didn’t realize that she and I were so close in age. And of course Carolyn Jones; watched the Addams family as a kid.(original run). & I didn’t know that Corrie Ten Boom was buried in CA.; didn’t even know she was in the US! Another winner, Arthur! I always enjoy these videos. I always learn something new. It was the Adam's family reruns. Sometimes they bring back the classic that either I was not born or too young when they came out. Me tv doing the flintstones now. That fred always make me laugh. Sometimes it's sad to learn who died young and who took thier life. I enjoy these tours without leaving home.👍💯💜🤗🌻🌷🧘♀️🙌🦋🌠✌🙏🙂👋. As a Brit I love watching these videos as it is a way I can pay my respects to the stars I grew up watching and virtually wandering around the beautifully kept cemeteries. Keep up the good work as I always look forward to whenever you post new videos. I also love the fact that you remember those stars who might now be long forgotten from the silent era who started the industry and turned it into what it is today.

Wow really well done. Living in OC Lake Forest I know each of these. William Hanna lived around here? CJ Pappy Hart and the OC Airport drags because it was closed on Sundays - I’ve seen the original old drag signs lol. But somehow the most touching is Jim Morrison’s “wife” Pamela who stayed with him and surely couldn’t live without him. And the voice of Wilma Flintstone was so unique and wonderful. Now I have to go watch Part 1!

It took a long time for Arthur to finally get to the 'Hanna' half of the 'Hanna-Barbera' team. I'm glad he did. I am surprised at just how plain and simple Bill Hanna's grave marker was - you would think someone would have made it look more elaborate with some of the HB characters (like Fred Flintstone, George Jetson, Scooby-Doo, etc.), but I guess he didn't want it that way. Well, Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera are still making people laugh up in Heaven to this day.
Thanks for showing Hall and Fender. Both are iconic figures, and Fender is a huge part of my life.

Thank you for mentioning Clyde Bruckman and Gordon Jump. I didn't know there were several actors who played the famous Maytag Man. And yes, from my mom's claims, they do make reliable appliances. She used them through the entire 1980s.
Carolyn Jones's mother lived on my block growing up.. I used to Trick or Treat at her house. Carolyn visited her mother one afternoon and before she left word got out and many neighborhood kids ran to meet her ..my brother got his baseball glove signed. I missed seeing her.
My grandmother who lived to 100 is buried at Fairhaven in Santa Ana and other relatives on my mother's side.

One of these tours popped up on my UA-cam feed and at first I thought it would be creepy to watch, but as it turns out it was extremely educational and very interesting. What you're doing is bringing these entertainers of yesteryear to a whole new generation and that is a noble endeavour indeed. Quite a few interesting ones in this episode. Loved all the music ties as well as animation. There sort of brings both together. I had no idea the Crystal Cathedral was owned by the Catholics. I had to look that one up. To me it will always be connected to Robert Schuyler. I had no idea it had transferred hands. Thanks for taking us on a tour!
