I feel like the reason so many heavy metal artists are so chill is because they get to release their emotions through their music; leaving room for positivity

Had a kid that listening to nothing but black metal and dressed it through high school,was scared af of him till he came up to me (i was heavily bullied by most the men in my school so I had my guard up right away) and pretty much let me listen to his music with him and talk about it, nicest guy I ever meet, he lost his dad I think,he ended up moving schools sadly

Nowadays everyone has to act in a certain way to be liked. Talk a lot, have friends, be an extrovert etc. But I wouldn't say antagonized. It's a strong word. Maybe that was a thing in the 90s but nowadays no one cares. Look at Abbath or Nergal. Do they seem antagonized to you?

The dude onstage who was surprised at the fan approaching him was cool to see, he really kept his composure even though he didn't like the invasion of space. Even gave the dude a hug, that's pretty awesome. The fan was excited as shit and you can tell. Stuff like that can be scary for artists though, e.g. Dimebag Darrell.

My parents were always concerned about me going to metal clubs and the people I was mixing with. I met some of the most generous, non judgmental and down to earth people in that scene who would have given the shirt off their back. In fact when I separated from my girlfriend of seven years and had no where to live, it was a good friend from that same community that gave me a room.
If you ever find yourself lost in the woods, just look around - there is a good chance that you will find a black metal band

Dead is using a SARCOFAGO jacket (print in its back), a 80s brazilian death / black metal pioneers ! Proud to be brazilian metal head !
I think the founder of Sarcofago used to be in one of the first Sepultura lineups. Wagner or something, then went on to start Sarcofago. I.N.R.I is their best album. The drums start to sound fake after around 1987.

It's production methods and quality are so rare and professional, they managed to keep the drums 100% natural acoustic for what I would call a top class Technical Death Metal album with Grindcore-length songs.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Faust was enticed to commit the murder by Euronymous and the other psychos he was surrounded with. After all he was a kid back in the day, it makes sense that he repents for what he did now that he's an adult and can see things more clearly.

Faust was 18 when the incident happened... he was basically still a teenager when everything happened. Plus, it's impossible for most people to understand the mindset that this guys had. Black Metal was extremely enticing back in the day...if you got attracted by both the music and the ideology, and took it seriously enough... you could easily lost yourself.
The fact that there was no internet also played a major role. Suddenly, there are this bunch of guys from Norway (and Sweden too...folks from Finland were less extreme, at least mentally. Musically speaking that was another story) who are taking the ideology very seriously and raising havoc. That, itself, made thousands of teens everywhere interested in it. And, the thing is... the music completely fitted all this, and was different, out of the standards, otherworldly even. Without being disrespectful to the younger generations... but if you always had access to internet and everything has always been at the reach of a mouse click, it will be very difficult for you to somewhat understand what was going on in their minds.
Any time Fenriz shows up it's going to be a good time. Such a solid guy
Imagine you just go up to Nergal and Behemoth and you are like "hey, I am going to shred using only hand farts" and Nergal is like "of course, let me record your sick skills fellow musician"

I always see Fenriz as the forest man, an authentic and natural guy. 👍🤘
fenriz has always just seemed like the guy you could just have a beer and fuck around with. he leaves his intensity on the stage, but off it? turns out he's just a really cool human being.
I used to meet him in a bar in Oslo when I was an exchange student there in 1999, he's just a regular, cool guy.
fenriz is also really into electronic music.
The best description I ever read of Fenriz was "He's like the grumpy uncle that always ruins family gatherings but you can't help but love him because he lets the kids have a swig of his booze when the adults aren't looking"
every time I see that clip of pelle I just start to cry. he deserved help. he seemed like a talented and interesting guy. he really, truly deserved better.

Listening to metal since i was 15. Was metalbands for over 15 years, recorded a few cd's played gigs and met the most friendly, real, intelligent and chill people. I'm 50 years now and still love metal. Hail to metal! In spirit we will never grow old.

Seeing my black metal heroes such as Fenriz, Niklas Kvarforth, Gaahl and Abbath in their nicest spirits makes me appreciate them the most not just as artists, but simple humans being sincere in expressing themselves.

The reason for most of them being kind and “wholesome” privately is cause most of them are Scandinavian and our culture is circled around being kind and respectful towards others as well as staying humble regardless of your success. 🇸🇪 🇩🇰 🇳🇴 🇫🇮 ❤️
