It's a nice kit! I use mine oftentimes with the camera freehand or on a different tripod and the Platypod and gooseneck arms with the torches just as a lighting tool. Works great the way you demoed it as well, but there's a lot of flexibility in how it's all configured. You'll have fun with it I'm sure!

That looks like it could be a nice little starter kit for tabletop macro work. Still waiting on my lens from Canon, once it gets here I'll probably order this also.

You should do a review of the Decade tripod base, which is an improvement on this, and less expensive.
I had the Platypod and returned it. Been using Decade for years. It's great!

Well, it's certainly cheaper than the Adaptalux, and does seem good quality. Let us know how you get on with it. I still think the outtakes are brilliant by the way! Kind regards.
