Not me that's for sure, 100" is just way too big.
My previous experience of Hisense was a bad one, they can't even be bothered to
issue updated firmware that might have cured the issues i had or communicate with customers.
Sony TV's are more expensive for a good reason, here in the UK they come with a 5 year Warranty.
and that to me says they have confidence in their products.
Hisense give you two years, i think i know why!

    • @SagaciousFrank
      @SagaciousFrank 8 місяців тому +3

@@Barbarapape, also both Hisense and TCL play the 'what sounds good on paper' game. Vincent Teoh of HDTV showed that Sony's image quality is far better with far fewer dimming zones than either Hisense and TCL by a wide margin. On paper alone you'd think the Hisense or TCL TVs would be superior. Sony has the know-how for software algorithms. And if Sony can achieve that with less, just imagine what they can achieve with more.
That's not to say Hisense or TCL products are necessarily bad, but I'd rather pay the premium for a Sony, Samsung, or LG. Though of those, preferably Sony at the moment.

My wife bought a 50” 4K Hisense for like $300 on Black Friday nearly 10 years ago (relatively early on for 4K) and it still works fine.
Picture quality was good but never really blown away by it. In the last few years it has developed very annoying high pitched sound that you can hear when the volume is very low. Seemed to be dependent on how bright the screen is too. You wouldn’t really hear it when watching tv normally, but my wife likes to have the tv on at low volume to go to sleep and it would drive me nuts and not let me sleep. She swore she couldn’t hear it so maybe it is like the mosquito ringtone thing.
We’ve since upgraded to a 65” Sony OLED and moved this to the basement, but still works perfectly fine. I can’t say the same for a 50” Samsung 4K TV I bought a few years after for nearly 2-3x the price. That developed larger purple splotches that impacted viewing, but also still works. There currently in a guest bedroom that sees little use until we upgrade it.

😊hey good for u for getting good deal . Just FYI , since I only found out about this 3 yrs ago …. Whatever Hisense we see on UA-cam from Fomo n the ones ppl r excitied about r --- their PREMIUM TVs only came to North America 4-5 yr ago , with Google TV Operating System. Not d ROKU TV .
So those r Audi A6 vs VW Jetta . Type of thing even tho same company . They had high end TVs all this time they just didn’t launch in North America till recently so there is confusion with Cheap tv then policing about their premiums . 😊 that 100 “ U76N is most likely mid rage . Their true Flagship is U8 then the UX “ 😊
So they compete with SONY Samsung Flagship yearly . Hope this works , most ppl
Have never heard about or used their Google tv , so it’s hard to image with Basie off Roku, that’s made for students n entry market .

I ended up going with a 77” C3. Couldn’t pass up on the Costco sale with the 5 year warranty. $2500 out the door. I picked it over the s90c. Looked at them side by side in the store. The s90c colors popped a little more but not that much more. The LG had way better motion and the picture just looked a lot more sharp and clear. The whites on the s90c looked dirty compared to the LG.

I really think $2,000 for an 85-inch Sony X90L is the perfect answer for brand reliability, performance, immersion, and affordability. With that being said I truly believe that the vast majority of people would go with size & immersion vs the look of perfect blacks? & higher contrast of a much smaller OLED where-as a side by side comparison will be alot closer than people think... Can't decide on the 7 or 8 series which is $1,000 more (better processing.. color...etc) but one thing is clear for me...I 💯% want a 100" Hisence in our 🏡... Which that's amongst the best contrast of any and all led lcd based displays. For comparison, Samsung top of the line 4k qled of 2023 had about n 80,000:1 native contrast ratio. And the TCL is brighter. It really comes down to low resolution upscaling and color banding when you see the worser aspects of it compared to a high end LG or Samsung. A 77" QD oled for $2k is an amazing price. id take the 77" oled over the larger size. But there is no right answer, it's whatever is right for you and your room. 77" is really a good size TV. I mainly watch movies, and about a third of the screen is lost to black bars, so larger is better for me and I got an 83" OLED C2 in the spring of 2023 so it was heavily discounted. How do you like the TCL? I know it gets very bright. I have always had Sony TV's my whole life as my Uncle works for the company and we receive a nice discount, but I wouldn't but Sony without that discount, its very expensive compared to its peers, Sony does make better TV's on a whole, but the A95L at 77" is $5k and the Samsung S95C is around $3,500 thats $1500 less, and the S90C (basically the same tv is around $2200. So the question is "Is Sony worth 30%-50% more"? I think most honest people will say NO of course it's not that much better. It's the same damn panel as the Samsung panel. I know Sony has great processing it's the best. But LG & Samsung's processing is dam good too. It's that simple Jack.

People think they're getting a super cheap 100 inch TV and buy it beccause they can't afford a higher end model. The type of people who watch a few hours total in a week should be fine. I'm concerned about the people who sit around most of the day with the television on. Admittedly, they have their own problems but they're probably going to see a pretty massive jump in their electric bills due to the increased draw from these beasts alone and also the amount of heat that is emanating from it will keep that AC going nonstop as well.
Not my problem but this may not be the cheap dream that they were envisioning. It's like buying a used Range Rover. Sure, you can afford to buy it, but can you afford to keep it?

I think i would still take my 86 inch over a 77 inch oled. If i could choose between a 83 inch oled and the 100 inch hisense. I would buy the 100 inch hisense. Smart. Cuz they ONLY launch small sample size in low price. ❤
The price will go up. Those are Early Gym Membershp price.
Since a lot of ppl still Intimindated by their 100” its BETTEr having ppl USING it get FEED back for “improvement” n get them to be happy about it raving it. Than Blindly launch Flagship in 3-4 months in abundance. Cuz the sample size with ppl direct feed back “yay okay or Nah” can help them with next step pricing/production/aiming .
Just like 7 8 yrs ago when Tesla first launch like the Tesla-3 for--SO CHEAP-but LIMITED number .everyone line up to Sign up for Tesla 3 -super cheap. Launch. On the news everywhere. N they are gone so quick.
Everyone made fun of it. But by the time ppl got those Tesla….WOW so SO SO SO premium. I am a speaking cuz I have been to tons bmw, Mecedes, Audi , ….Subaru Impreza WRX STI. Or Hyndai Genisis …..I am in large city.
IN Business Marketing. A PRODUCT usually are PRICIER. So the product when they import to North America they have 2 Choices….mke them small n low end. Ppl Want cheap go for cheap.
They go up in size…price will go up. Ppl buy larger SUV they have bigger budget, but they also want higher quality. So in order to have thoes Customesr switch --ditch brand royalty…U have to NOT OFFER them Flagship. But 1 tier down for the “BEST DEAL that U CANT refuse” but just to have a few ppl have hands on experience. So ppl can ease their fear. They will LOSE money doing it , thats why those Sample size are Extremely good deal.
Even tho they LOSE money doing those typ of thing ,,,they only usually sell like small sample size. And still MUCH CHEAPER doing TV , commercial, FB ads. Because Once Customer USE it. They SEE/Experience the Function/Qualiy. Thats how they slow get Brand royalty ppl. It’s like we booked a INFINITI 330hp CAR viewing. Omg once on the road first 30 second, it’s DONE sold. Having small enthusiastic ppl USING it is the best Marketing. Than paying UA-cam influncers. Because ppl willing to jump the gun, they have done their research. Someone wants a good car, they rather get SEcond hand Premium. If offer them like Honda Civic for like $3000 they still like NO NO NO. Lol.

Some of that is just straight-up predatory capitalism at play. Those companies aren't making a dime selling 98" and 100" TVs at those prices. They are actually losing money on them and treating them as "loss leaders" where they seed the market with just enough of them to get the hype built up around their brand in the media in the hopes it will lead to more overall sales for them across the rest of their product line. Don't be fooled. Those TV's aren't going to last. You will be VERY lucky if you get even TWO years of actual use out of them before something in them breaks.

I wouldn't pay too much attention to Nintendo using LCD, they're pretty weird always when it comes to announcements and decisions and most likely will do an OLED model later on. Sony had OLED on the Vita and later changed to LCD, it's always about profit. And the majority of consumers just want to watch sports and stream movies so LCDs will be selling for a long time for now.

❤high five. I am in Canada. I pay same price. Same as UK. Even tho i am 2 hr away drive from US boarder. I just Checked chinese site a week ago . They have been selling U8N already since late Dec. UK, Canadian, Australian, German price--same as Chinese home base price. USA price is only low cuz they are new in town--in a MARKET That Has Monopoly. In a Market with Monoply, that means the market is beyond maturity. Ppl r skeptical and BIASED. They wlll bluntly belive what they are used to is Best. Just like U N I will always go to Same hair Dresser in saem salon. Have to offer Some ppl a “A deal you can NOT refuse” for them to TRY it out for Short a few years. Since Hisense HUGE brands they sell wash machine AC, all sorts. So they prob had enough money to do THAT in USA. Cuz in EU lots exposure for diff cultures diff brands. USA is a bubble market. Ppl bluntly belive one thing all same opinions.
IF u are in UK….look for that 75” UX seriously!!!!!!!
That 75” UX i will DIE for. They only selling those in EU. They had 65” 75” 85” 100” UX in UK last summer, by the fall I was looking it up some guy was talking they were sold out. I was shocked.
IN USA they only sell 85” last year. N this year they only sell the 98” n 110”. Lol i am in Canada….i Dont know if they will sell here at all lol. 😅 i will snatch that 75” 85” UX if they sell it here.

Well, it’s not that they should be worried this year, it’s that they should’ve been worried three years ago when 0LED started taking losses from the so-called little brands, which are not so little anymore, people want to invest in this technology, but like plasma, we all know It’s just here for a little bit because the tech is too costly to the manufacturer and the consumer when both lose in this kind of business, it’s not good for nobody. Maybe we should’ve been more hard on OLED to give us better results sooner, Like Intel did they waited too long to make substantial improvements. I think hundred inch or 65 inch or what might become more commonly sold 75 inch will be selling out from TCL and Hyson all year because they have given us substantial improvements, not just in brightness, but in color depth this year and processing, as much as I think, Sony needs to catch up, I think for once they’re getting the hint and making improvements on their new LED mini lead technology.

Just imagine how many corners have to be cut to make 100inch tv for 2k even for logistics that a bigger challenge. I got LG G3 65inch for 2k, thats one big piece of art on the wall. And lets be fair 100 inch tv for 2k will be a same as most stuff from wish, on paper its "wow" in reality well its kind of works and thats all 😄 saw few huge tvs in local shops and even in "best case scenario"(their demo materials) looked poor so in real content that would be even worse. Bad picture in big tv its still big bad picture

It's only hard-core enthusiasts that even know what those things are, much less what they look like. I have the 100 U8K and a 77 S95C and everyone whose ever come over to my house prefers watching the U8K. It cost me almost $2k less as well. Sure the PQ isn't as good as the OLED, but it's also nowhere near close to being "garbage" like most enthusiasts might claim. It's actually a damn good looking image.

    • @dyauswinters

@ejg34 my comment wasn't about whether or not I care about what others think or want to watch, my comment was clearly to point out the fact that 99% of people don't know, or care about any of these things. Also, the U8K looks pretty incredible so it's not like going from a garbage piece of junk to the best on the planet. The discrepancy between the two isn't drastic enough that I'd tell someone they need to spend $2k more to get the smaller OLED. That's coming from someone who spent $10k on the Sharp ELITE when it came out in 2010 and has had 4 OLED TV's since then. I consider myself an audio and video enthusiast, but not so much and audio and video snob.

Also, understand that people today no, that consumer reports can be manipulated, it’s hard to trust the people that keep taking your money/let me reword that, it’s hard to trust the businesses that are giving us little results and want more money in economy where budget have become more tight. And Samsung and LG have to understand that LED technology is more economically viable today, as for longevity of how good something is too many times, people/consumers have bought expensive TVs with the same kind of longevity results of what the consumer reports are in accurate For. In the words of Tommy boy, I could guarantee you anything and take a piece of shit in a box, but it doesn’t really mean much all Sony and Samsung/LG gave us was a guaranteed piece of shit. I understand that somebody has to cover for OLED‘s shortcomings, somebody Has to be a defender, so no matter how this goes from when it started, people will not invest in the technology that will soon be obsolete, you cannot promise 3000 nits for a second or two and not be able to push a simple 800 to 1004 field frame Picture steadily and expect people to buy that. People will not invest in something that only show you two seconds of 3000 knit flashes wow it might be more compromising to the organic technology which is OLED, nice try though. 12:06

I THOUGHT i was lucky enough to get this TV and the OS is so horrible.. well i hate to say it but you get what you pay for.. im pretty picky when it comes to my picture display ( ill be returning this and going back to SONY) all these reviews and tvs that are selling out of this model ..i really dont see how unless your really come from a 20 year old tv.. this TV is really really bad.. blooming, flicking , remote is laggy, setting change on there own, colors just look washed out and pastel like..the TV does ok when it wants to act right ..on newer movies its very immerse.. but ANY old content or cable is just horrible.. i would never recommend this TV unless it was for gaming.. but i wouldnt even expect this thing to last 1 year.. im not sure what people who leave good reviews of this TV are really looking at.. probably the fact that they got a 100 inch for 2 grand.. this TV is a BUST.. DONT NOT BUY IT!!!
