    I am separated and will not divorce. I will live single and celibate for the rest of my life. Even if my covenant spouse dies, I will never marry again. I like living by myself. I have a peace and solitude I never had while married.

    In videos like this, I often see a bunch of people who insist that any and all remarriage after divorce is adultery, regardless of the circumstances. Those of you who are so certain of that should have zero difficulty answering these seven questions:
    (1) Was adultery lawful under the Mosaic Law?
    (2) If not, how do you explain Deut 24:1-4?
    (3) Was Esther an adulteress for her marriage to King Xerxes after he divorce Queen Vashti?
    (4) If not, when did remarriage become adultery?
    (5) Did Jesus abolish or restrict divorce even for serious cause?
    (6) If so, when did Heaven and Earth disappear? (Matt 5:17-18)
    (7) If Heaven and Earth disappeared, why wasn't I informed?

    Thank you for this video. It's nice to see some common sense and common decency on this matter as both of these things seem to be in short supply among UA-cam videos on this subject.
    The marriage permanence heresy takes a valid moral imperative, as stated in Matt 19:9, Mark 10:11, and Luke 16:18 - and stretches it well past its intended scope and context. I would consider these scenarios:
    Scenario I: A man has been married to Jessica for 10 years. He takes a liking to Rachel, who is a real cutie and likes to flirt with him. He desires to be with Rachel, but need to get Jessica out of the way first. So he conjures up some flimsy excuse to be rid of Jessica (any excuse will do) then runs off with Rachel. They get married and no further thought is given to Jessica who he so cruelly cast aside.
    Scenario II: A man has the misfortune of being married to some worthless, narcissistic, abusive woman. But her third arrest for shoplifting to support her drug habit was the last straw. He divorced her, and quite reasonably so. Five years later, he met Deanna and the rest was history.
    Analysis: You do not need to have spent a single day in Sunday School to understand the moral difference between the actions of Rachel's husband and Deanna's. Even pagans and atheists can tell the difference. One of the scenarios bears a striking resemblance to adultery. The other is nowhere near adultery by any reasonable metric. Why, oh why, is this rocket science to some Christians!?
    Jesus did NOT impose any new restrictions on divorce. He made that very clear Himself at Matthew 5:17-18 and Luke 16:17. Yet, these people continue to persist in their Orwellian attempts to evade these simple truths to prop up the marriage permanence heresy.

      At what point, How many years later, did Jesus say to Himself...."ok ill accept their marriage as legit now"????
      The answer is He never accepted it!

      No that's not true. In Deuteronomy a man was allowed to divorce his wife for "uncleanness" and she was free to remarry. Now this was being abused and Christ took his listeners back to the original teaching in Genesis. Matthew 19 shows the exception of divorce for sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 7 indicates you can divorce someone who deserts you.

    Romans 7:1-3 Know ye not, brethren,( I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
    2. For the woman which hath an husband is bound by the law to her husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband be dead, she is loosed from the law of her husband.
    3. So then if, when her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.

    Everyone seem to be overlooking Matt 19:10-12 which speaks very much concerning eunuchs: and also the rebuke of John the Baptist to Herod concerning him having Herodias as wife while her husband was still alive. That is very clear. John the Baptist preached a message of reconciliation as pointed out by Malachi in ch. 4:5-6 in the old testament. "Jesus Christ reminded His followers in Matt 11: 7,8,9, asking them; "what went ye out there to see?" We take just one verse of scripture called a clause and conclude that it's a general rule/command...and overlook all other scriptural references that would help our understanding.
    This calls for further studies for some so that His word would be rightly divided.
    Hope this helps.

    Separation may be forced upon the Christian, but the marriage bond can only be broken by death (Romans 7:1-2; 1 Corinthians 7:39). A spouse is for life.

    Does Divorce End Marriage? No Jeremiah 3:8b I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce;

    Jeremiah 3:14 Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion:
    If u left a legitimate marriage 2 people married for the first time, or widows, seek to go back where you came from (Jeremiah 4:1)

    Sound doctrine that cannot be condemned will prove inside and out from every precept that all remarriage is adultery (Genesis 2:23-25, Malachi 2:15, Job 32:8, Proverbs 30:5)
    The morals will prove it also, as the moral conviction, without sear, always agrees with sound doctrine (Titus 2:10).
    You vowed to be married till death,
    God maketh it 1, pay thou, and add thou not (Ecclesiastes 5:4-5, Proverbs 30:6)
    It is impossible to explain away a correct vow Ecclesiastes 5:6, Psalm 15:3-4, Ezekiel 18:5-6

    However , is it because the wife has died , or is it because of divorce , that the man is free ?

    • @marriageranger
      @marriageranger  3 місяці тому +1

      The passage itself does not qualify what "frees" a man from a wife. However, we know from Jesus' teaching in Matt. 19:9 that it is possible for one to divorce and remarry. We also know from Jesus' remarks to the woman at the well in John Chapter 4 that she had had multiple husbands. They were, indeed, previous marriages, according to the Lord's words. The man who puts away his wife (even illicitly) is not under bondage to the previous marriage, although he may have sinned in the process of breaking that covenant. I hope this helps.

    Luke 16:18 and Mark 10:11-12 record instances in which Jesus sets the highest standard of marriage in response to Jews who were looking for religious and spiritual backing for their desires to flee their marriages. It's the same message that God gives us today when we're in tough marriages. In the eyes of God, marriage is serious, and simply divorcing a spouse for any reason does not constitute divorce in His eyes.
    On the other hand, Judaic law was well known, at the time, and allowed for divorce for reasons, that today are summarized as the three "A"s: abuse, addiction, and adultery.
    The Bible gives two clear grounds for divorce: (1) sexual immorality (Matthew 5:32; 19:9) and (2) abandonment by an unbeliever (1 Corinthians 7:15). Even in these two instances, though, divorce is not required or even encouraged. The most that can be said is that sexual immorality and abandonment are grounds (an allowance) for divorce. Confession, forgiveness, reconciliation, and restoration are always the first steps. Divorce should only be viewed as a last resort.

    The Marriage Standard God (Jesus): Two become One flesh.
    (Gen 2:23-25, Mat 19:3-5)
    Moses: Man can't put away all his days.

    Brother, let me help you. You mentioned the scripture in Matthew and in 1 Corinthians. But you ignored the very scripture the said are you unmarried, then don't seek to get married. You even read it yourself. I noticed you also mentioned where God hates divorce, the writer continues and says God likens divorce to the "violent dismemberment of flesh"!
    But also why did you forget to mention the scripture that Paul also wrote in Corinthians that states "if a woman divorces/ leaves her husband, she is to remain unmarried or else come back and make things right with her husband"! Which is a command from God! So is that contradicting and stating that God forbids remarriage after divorce? No. But it is saying God is against it! No it's not saying that you are still married to your first spouse in God's eyes. But the Bible does say as long as your first husband/ wife remains alive while you are married to another, you are an adulterer and in sin. But when your first spouse dies, then you are no longer bound to them and are no longer an adulterer. You missed all the points about what the Bible really says about remarriage and divorce!!

  • @josefjking308
    @josefjking308 22 дні тому +4

    Can I get a divorce if my spouse commits adultery? Never!
    Can I get a divorce if my spouse is abusive to me? No!
    Can I get a divorce if I no longer love my spouse? Absolutely not!
    Can I get a divorce if my spouse has abandoned me? No, you can't!
    So, under what circumstances can I get a divorce? Absolutely none. The Bible is absolutely clear: only death can dissolve a marriage in God's sight. Our only option is to separate from our spouse and stay single. If things get better between our spouse and us, we can get back together (1 Corinthians 7:10-11, Bible).
    But what about the exception in Matthew 5:31-32 and Matthew 19:1-9? There is no exception in Matthew’s gospel: Once you are married, you are married for life.
    No one in the Bible ever got a divorce for adultery or fornication. There was no need for divorce because those found guilty were stoned to death. All divorces were for reasons other than adultery or fornication.
    Once married, always married until death do us part, with no exceptions. This applies to all human beings, regardless of whether you are a sinner or a saint.
