Thanks Samsung for making caring for your products so much harder for the consumer. I'll never buy another Samsung appliance again.

The screen on my washer is gross, I was really hoping I wasn’t going to need to dissemble all that. Looking through the manual it doesn’t give instructions like you just did. Thanks for posting this video!

I cannot get the impeller out - clockwise or counterclockwise - it just spins. Any suggestions?? @homeprojects

I have the same problem...do you use the gel packs? I was wondering it if that could be causing the sludge

      @homeprojectswithnick  6 місяців тому +1

I used a few but generally don’t use them. Just the dishwasher gel without the packs.

While you have it taken apart, you should also check the black sump check valve toward the back of this area. It may be stretched and/or twisted and is easily replaced.

Did you fix the problem, is the dishwasher all good

It worked for one cycle then failed again. I removed the dishwasher and found a bunch of water damage from a improperly sealed pipe by the previous home owner. I sealed the pipe and I had someone look at the dishwasher and they said it was a likely a failed circuit board. I replaced it with a whirlpool dishwasher I found on on marketplace until I redo the rest of my kitchen. Not worth the cost to repair it.

What model dishwasher is this? I can't find the model number on mine

How did you run a diagnostic on this one? First time I have seen this model, and can’t figure out the diagnostic portion. Thanks!

Honestly I just googled the flashing light sequence with the model of dishwasher. The manual is also available online if you search for it. Should be straight forward to find.

Thanks for the reply! I found the manual, I think with this dishwasher when there is an issue it automatically shows the flashing light sequence. I found what each mean, but don’t think you can manually run a diagnostic.

We had the same 'sludge'. Pretty sure it's from putting bottles and jars in with the labels still on.

I would rather have the loud noise of the shop vac in the video! Seriously though, thanks for removing that!

Ok Folks, to prevent this (and it's worked for me until this week when we had guests) is to rinse each dish AND giving it a quick once over with a brush. NO sediment, not even the tiniest bit, should be present. Even empty plates (where all the food was eaten) should undergo this process. We were good for 7 years until recently where I found crusted cereal bowls and cups with fruit and lemons among other things

Okay, it sounds like you’re saying to wash the dishes… before washing the dishes?

@@homeprojectswithnick Yeah, like cleaning the house before the cleaning lady arrives! No, I'm saying rinse and put in no debris - just takes seconds. I'm a cook and do not wash pots and pans in the DW. Trying to decide whether to work on mine or simply call someone.

@@smb123211that’s nonsense. No dishwasher requires you to clean the dishes before loading them. I have this exact dishwasher. It was in our house when we bought it 3 years ago, and it’s garbage. Terrible design. You can go in and clean all the spooge out completely, but it still doesn’t wash the glasses right on the second rack.

I watched 2 videos that told me it was opposite thread (righty loosey) only to find out the hard way my model is regular thread… so it could be either depending on your specific year… amazing design…

it defeats the purpose to completely clean the dishes before loading. I rinse all the dishes prior and it still leaves stains in the spoons and other larger utensils. I had a Miele in my other house and it was the best.

I have a similar samsung dishwasher and we've had it a couple years, if you just rinse your dishes off so there is no food debris when you put them in the dishwasher you'll never need to do any of this

This is the worst dishwasher I’ve ever used. Don’t waste your money on this model if you can avoid it.
