I love both of them and can't decide which ones are my favorite. Thank you for saying that we do not have to suffer to look beautiful! No more sacrificing comfort to look good - now that is chic!
My favourite shoes are classic pointed black pumps. I wanted to say that you really influence my style in a positive way. I‘m quite young (turning 19 this year) and I used to dress very differently. For example, I would often wear tiny skirts and nowadays I only buy skirts that reach my knee and look more modest. Thank you for all the inspiration, greetings from Berlin
Hi Marie-Anne, I like both but the Mary Janes would be my favorite. I am not a big fan of snake print but when you had them on with the gray shift dress and tights, they looked fabulous. These are the kind of shoes that leave the house after you go to sleep and party on their own...love them. 👠 🍹
Hello Marie Anne, My favorite shoe is the Mary Janes, love the style , the block heel and the color. I am 5'2 so I am always looking for a good comfortable heel and block heels are very comfortable. I am on my mid 40's and I never have bought a print shoe. But your comments on the snake pump made me rethink my position. I was afraid that a print shoe will be too much or afraid of how to pair that style with my clothes in an elegant way. Thanks to your advice I may purchase my first pair of print shoe!
Ixel Rus I enjoyed your comment. I’m 4’11” so I completely agree. I bought my first print shoe last year. It is leopard & the style is very similar to Marie Anne’s. Mine look elegant, not a cheap leopard (& there are many cheep looking ones) I love them. Great with all black or black pants & a camel cashmere sweater. Also great with any simple black dress.
Your new shoes are lovely. The Mary Janes are perfect. The pattern is nice and they are dressy and practical. I can always wear a higher heel if the heel is chunky. I have a pair of dark red patent Mary Janes. Love the snakeskin pumps too. They look suitable for all seasons and still a good neutral. I would love to see the snake print styled with some of your outfits. While watching the video I was thinking, as you said, that they would be pretty with bright colors. I love both pairs of shoes. They are both a nice addition to your wardrobe. They can be worn so many ways.
I like both pairs of shoes, and they will fit beautifully into your wardrobe! I have so many nice shoes, but we have a foot of snow in Winnipeg (Canada) at the moment! It's boots, then sock feet at home. It's hard to be fashionable with snow!
I love your new Mary Janes! very beautiful! I also like your snake skin print shoes too! I would love to see the snakeskin shoes styled! I loved seeing your new shoe purchases!
Ahh Marie-Anne! I love shoes.....both of your new pair of shoes are beautiful. I recently purchased a snake print pair of heels almost identical to yours and I love them. The black pair are beautiful also and look like they would be comfortable. I have small narrow feet (size 6AA US or 36 Euro) with no padding on the bottom of my feet and find it impossible to wear anything higher than a 2 1/2 inch heel. However with a platform I can! I am always careful when I purchase shoes as I tend to keep them for a very long time. Enjoyed your presentation. Another nice topic would be on a wardrobe of belts for the different seasons. Also showing some statement belts-belts that make the outfit. Appreciate your fashion sense and style.
thank you for this video. Your comment about block heels being comfortable got me thinking. For several years I have avoided wearing a higher heel than 2 inches, because of my concern for comfort and safety while walking. This also has LIMITed my choices greatly! I shall try a block heel. Also room for the big toe is another concern for me and has limited my choices for stylish shoes. I like both pairs of shoes! Hard to choose between the two. Both seem to be very versatile.!! And that is what we love - versatility, style, looking GREAT - French Chic!
I like the Mary Janes. I like the idea of a strap on heels. It just feels more secure without being tight. I also like T straps for the same reason. Interesting about the big toe being squished. Justine Leconte has a video on feet types. I think some designers design for foot types. All that aside a comfortable shoe with arch support and style is definitely a winner. 😊
You had me at 'shoes'!! I have fifty (yes, 50!) pairs of shoes, two of which resemble these ones. I just love what they do to an outfit. I really like how you buy one or two items and talk in great detail about the features and how they can be worn. Well made leather shoes will last a lifetime and you obviously put a lot of thought and consideration into your purchases.
Finally someone agrees with a sensible shoe. The toes need room and the pointed toe shoe is not for most. Only an orthpedic surgeon and podiatrist love them (lol). Because I already have a black Mary Jane snake skin and always receive compliments, I want a pair of the grey python print shoe and grey hose -- very elegant.
I *love* the texture/print of your Mary Janes! I recently bought a nearly identical pair - toe shape, heel height, very small platform, cushioning and arch support - in plain black leather. The strap makes them *so* much more comfortable than pumps, as it prevents the foot from sliding down into the toe of the shoe! I also have an older pair in a gorgeous burgundy suede, with a higher, chunkier block heel, though the higher heel limits their use to short walks from car to restaurant. 😆 I’ve always worn Mary Janes with skirts and dresses, and wondered if they would be appropriate to wear with slacks; thank you for confirming that!
Good morning Marie-Ann, yet another superb video and very enlightening. The platform on the black shoe was exceptionally well hidden so did not detract from the shoes itself. My favourite pair of the two pairs most definitely. I loved your subtle reference to ‘KISS’ as well. 😉😀 x
Hallo Marie-Anne, I love Mary Jane shoes, I think they can be wore also with trousers, they make the look very feminine. And love yours, so shining, very good new entry! Years ago I had snake open toe, exactly the same colours you show in the video. I bought them because they were beautiful but didn't know how to style them. They surprised me because they went so well with my wardrobe and they elevated outfits. It's nice to see almost the same pair on you😊.Thank you for the time you spend with us, have a nice evening.
Bonjour Marie-Anne! I love the black Mary Jane shoes, with the snakeskin print. They look comfortable and chic. Thank you for sharing these fantastic shoes and outfits to pair with them. Merci❤
I do like those of black shoes very much but i have to say the snake print r my favourite. Love the video and all the information it holds. Thankyou Marie-Anne. Bev xx
Both pairs are extremely versatile. I have a pair of patent leather Mary Janes that are similar and a snake print pump. I have worn both pairs for years and love them. ❤️
Love both pairs Marie-Anne, but the snake print pumps are my favourite. Beautiful. I'm sure you will enjoy wearing both pairs, and they will compliment lots of outfits. 👍😍👌
I think I prefer the snake print because I love patterns and I tend to prefer low vamp shoes, although really, Mary Jane s don’t cut off the line of the foot if you wear the same colour hosiery. I have one pair of pale pink MJs, with a medium heel, that are very close to my skin tone. And of course, my new leopard print kitten heels, which I wore last week and received many complements from both women and men friends. More to the point, I felt wonderful! I wore them with shades of brown, a similar leopard print silk scarf and a bright turquoise cardigan and brown glass bead earrings. I felt chic! A close female friend said that I wore leopard print “with style and class”, a compliment I hold very dear because she is a fantastic dresser. So thank you for your tuition, Marie-Anne! ❤️
I have a pair of Mary Janes that are cream with a floral print and they are so comfortable. I wear them with jeans and a simple, plain blouse or top in the spring and early summer. I have had them for 5 years and they are still in excellent shape. Love your videos, they make me think very carefully on how to put an outfit together. X
How lovely is your all grey mise, worn at 11.09 min of the video. I love both pair of shoes, the black maryjane and the snake printed pumps. Thank you for the video.
I love the snake print pumps! I have two pairs of snake print boots (one in black & brown; the other in grey & tan). They make every outfit look cool, modern and edgy 😎
Bon jour Marie-Anne. Useful video! Bought black and taupe similar Mary Janes & they are up in the attic! Have never worn them in public. I did not know they were ‘stylish’. Thank you for your advice! Will wear with confidence next chance.
Marie-Anne Lecoeur Christmas in Europe, I did follow your advice and simply packed luxurious tops. Was perfect for every occasion. I would not have thought of that on my own.
*WOW* !!!! *LOVE your new black Mary Janes* !!!!! *Your NEW snake skin shoes are FAB* !!!!!! *The older I get, the more I insist on comfort* !!!! #MarieAnneLeCoeur
I love both. The sparkle in the Mary Jane is really pretty. But the grey snakeskin is my favourite. I have the exact same colour in ballet flats. I now know how to make it better with my outfits. Merci
These are such lovely shoes!! I especially like the block heel for comfort and confidence. My favourite shoe is a pair of suede black Hobbs block-heeled court shoes that have an inner platform - and just like your Mary Janes, they can be high without feeling one is going to topple over. They were a worthwhile investment.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur MJ's all the way though I prefer them to be flat. I've heard of stories, almost like a comedy routine, of women rushing around in very high heels and doing prat falls. One lady even broke her nose, not funny, when she ran down the stairs to catch a subway train, rolled all the way down and hit her nose on the closing train doors. :( Too many colors confuse my already confused brain.
As I look at your closet, we have many similar items! I’m only a bit of French. Mostly a California girl (woman 😉) whose heritage is Italian with a bit of English & French. I see your black bag on top of the shelf. Mine looks a lot like it. I would love if you did a “what’s in my bag” video. Let us see what an elegant French woman carries in her bag.
Great point about the block heels. I'm on my feet most of the day at work, and the only heel I can tolerate is a block heel about 2 1/2 inches high. I can't go higher than that at work, I'd eventually be too uncomfortable. I also buy the pointiest Rockport heels I can find. Great work shoes that are still stylish.🥰 I love your shoes!
Bonjour Marie Anne love those snake shoes I use to have knee high boot with that same print when I have as very young even then I was ahead of the times LOL the only Mary Jane shoes I have are my Flamenco 💃 dance shoes I do love your choice 💕
Bonjour Marie Anne yes it’s sad when the teachers move away I guess I’m blessed that my teacher and friend is staying on the island we not only Flamenco we belly dance too so much fun I must say you have the physique of a dancer I pray you find a new teacher Passez une bonne journée💕
Bonjour Marie -Anne! I never thought I would like Snake skin shoes, until I saw them on you. Up close they are so busy to me. But when you wear them in your videos, they look neutral. I did not know where this inspiration was coming from but now after watching this video, it was from you. Overtly and subtlety. I tried on a few pairs of heels and flats with snake skin pattern. Although I did not buy any, I think I’m open to them now. They look fabulous on you. I especially like the warmer colored snake skin that you wear. I think it’s good to have a few wow factor “basics” in the capsule wardrobe.
Mary-Janes is very feminine shoe style, yours are fantastic with the comfortable heel, I have mines and i love them. Both models are very useful and fancy, Agree with you they are proper for winter. Very important as you said not to hurt our foot, I´m very careful about this, here in México we have very good brands. As usual smart considertions about animal prints wear.
I tend to purchase shoes that are of the highest quality. They can be resoled and restored. Yes, they do cost much more but they are classic in style, instead if following today’s fast trends. These shoes are Goodyear welted just like men’s high quality shoes. My favorites are The Office of Angela Scott, Meermin, and Carmina. Buying great quality in clothing and shoes make more sense to me since I get to enjoy wearing the shoes for many years. I am still enjoying a pair that I purchased 16 years ago.
I liked the snake skin shoes. I also have problems with the width and depth of shoes as you say many designs pinch and squeeze your toes. I to go like a padded lining for comfort x
Lovely shoes, I like both. I’ve worn Mary Janes for a long time. I have a very elegant low heeled pair in a deep bronze leather. Lovely with black velvet trousers. I do agree with you on limiting the snakeskin to one area.
Thanks for another great video. Most shoes are made very skimpy in the toe box to save on materials and to give the shoe a slimmer look, but they are torture to wear. Right before the pandemic, I had my shoe size measured at Nordstrom, wondering if it had changed because I had so much trouble finding comfortable shoes. I found that it is the same as always, with a (US) C width, or average, at the widest point. But, I have measured some of the “Wide” shoes I have, and they run only about 1/2 to 2/3 of the width and height across my toes, no wonder they hurt! The rest of my foot is very narrow, so “W” width shoes often won’t stay on. Most fashion bloggers have horrible, painful-looking bunions or twisted toes, yet continue to promote high-heel, very narrow and pointed-toe shoes! The only way to get manufacturers to stop making these unwearable shoes is to stop buying them. Also, repeated searching on websites and search engines for “shoes with wide toe box” will help, too. Thanks for promoting stylish, but wearable shoes!
Bonjour Marie-Anne. I like both of those shoes. I used to have some Mary Jsne’s. I don’t have any shoes with prints. Animal prints are something that look good on other people but I never felt comfortable wearing myself. I should be more adventurous :).
Love those Mary-Jane shoes. I cannot wear pumps because the heel area of my feet is so slim that my feet slip right out of pumps when I walk. So I gave up spending money on pumps. Mary Janes are best for me.
I have been looking for Mary Janes this winter, definitely would want a lower heel though!! I can't wear any sort of slip on shoe or pump, they just fall off my narrow feet so I need laces or a buckle!! (These are lovely!!)
@@MarieAnneLecoeur :-D I life in germany, next the frech border. The city where I life is famous for it's shoes and -industry. But I bought my ones in france (moselle).
Somehow when I was a child way before I was able to visit Paris, I always could relate MJ shoes to the city of lights. I am a fan of the roaring twenties and therefore I found your shoes spectacular and divine. Now, I have a terrible phobia for snakes and despite the shoes are very chic, I think I will have nightmares tonight!🤣 On the other hand that is the only way I tolerate snakes, in shoes! I like when you tell people not to add too many prints or flashy things because most of the time that is what ruins many outfits here. Too much of everything! Ma cherie Marie Anne, this side of the Atlantic really needs you! The good thing, we are 50 000 people spreading your style and lessons and the numbers will be going up and up! A bientot!😻
Almost all shoes I try are way too small in the toe box. Manufacturers make them like that to save money on the materials! Iam going to try L.K. Bennett, thanks for the tip.
Wow! I love both pairs but I think I would probably wear the black Mary Jane shoes more😊 I miss wearing heels as unfortunately I have arthritis in my feet 😥 but I think I caused it myself as I would wear 4 inch heels to work all day (manager in fashion boutique) & walk home from nightclub without shoes on 🤣 but I love them shoes 😘

Great shoes.I love the Mary Jane style with the slight texture of shiny imprint. I often wore a pair like this with opaque tights. It's shocking how many shoe manufacturers are cutting corners by using a too shallow toe box. If shoes are uncomfortable in a store with a carpeted floor, they will be miserable after a few hours on pavement or cobblestones. They are best left in the shop. What you call "court shoes" are called "pumps" in the US. To us court shoes are worn on tennis or basketball courts. Great video. Thank you.
Bonjour Marie-Anne. I notice that you still buy a lot of your clothes from British brands like Hobbs, L.K. Bennett and John Lewis. I do too, even though I no longer live there either. I also like Toast, Whistles and Jigsaw. Can you recommend any French brands that offer the equivalent affordable quality?
Is ethical fashion and beauty accessible in France? I know French women prioritize quality over quantity, but what about the way it's sourced and manufactured? Would you ever do a video about that concept or your favorite sustainable and fair trade things?
I love both of them and can't decide which ones are my favorite. Thank you for saying that we do not have to suffer to look beautiful! No more sacrificing comfort to look good - now that is chic!

I'll go with the snake print. Stylish
Love the Mary Janes. I have black, and a grey suede pair. I love them!
I love your bag on the shelf also...xoxo
I love both of them , Mary Jane are classy and the snake skin are chic !
@@MarieAnneLecoeur I'll keep looking...
I love them both ♥ I would really love to see Coco your Chihuahua, I love dogs so much! Best wishes from Switzerland, yours truly Katrin ♥
Definitely the snake print. Xx
I love the snake print also.
I like the black one's, have some pairs of this kind (with this "little belt") on my own (different colours).
@@MarieAnneLecoeur :-D I life in germany, next the frech border. The city where I life is famous for it's shoes and -industry. But I bought my ones in france (moselle).
💖 I like the snake skin, I bought a pair this summer not block heels, I chose stilettos 😎
Thanks for the Sharing. Love it. In your opinion. Are round toe shoes more comfortable than pointed ones. Bcz I'm apt for the pointed toe.
I kept my Mary Janes for a long satin skirt but I might branch out a bit now ,they are patent .
off-topic but scarfs were made for you x
Somehow when I was a child way before I was able to visit Paris, I always could relate MJ shoes to the city of lights. I am a fan of the roaring twenties and therefore I found your shoes spectacular and divine.
Now, I have a terrible phobia for snakes and despite the shoes are very chic, I think I will have nightmares tonight!🤣
On the other hand that is the only way I tolerate snakes, in shoes!
Love both pairs of shoes. What brands of shoes do you recommend. I have a large foot I wear a ladies US size 12.
My favorite are Mary Jane's shoes👠
Love the Mary Janes. I gave up heels when I turned60 but those might be an exception. I’m looking for a nude shoe with a low block heel right now.
The are gorgeous. For a minute I though the buckle was in the middle. That would be chic as well.
Bonjour Marie-Anne, I love the snake print shoes, tres chic!
Hi Marie-Anne, I like both of them❤
I Am Using My Boyfiend's Account; He Referred You To Me. I LOVE Your Hose With The 'Mary-Janes'(And, I LOVE 'Mary-Janes', As Well!) Merci-Madame!!
Stephanie Denuvue(The Girlfriend); Auvouir, Madame.
P.S., My Boyfriend Was/Is Right, You Are Both Pricelessly-Informed, And Charming!
Love your new shoes. 🤩
Thank you.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur I wish you could see the results of my google search for court shoes. Trainers, high-tops, mostly white.
Our winters are terribly cold so I wear boots in the winter.
I know I said that I love kitten heels, but, I also like these type of block heels. They still keep their sexiness and style.
Is ethical fashion and beauty accessible in France? I know French women prioritize quality over quantity, but what about the way it's sourced and manufactured? Would you ever do a video about that concept or your favorite sustainable and fair trade things?
