Boy can use two talk lol but we love you for it and your magnificent Alocasia collection. It's nice to see rare Alocasia that we can only dream of down under in Australia Perth.
So let’s think a bit, could it possibly be a pest or lighting issue? I get some round brown marks on edges when mine are too close to light. Sometimes pests can munch on tips. So for lighting I would take a light meter and just check it’s not over 3500 but I doubt that’s the problem because mine tolerates pretty high lighting. I use a magnifying glass to check under leaves just incase it’s pests. Another option is over fertilizing possibly? Are you micro fertilizing? I found mine actually yellowed terribly with over fertilizing. If you can send a photo that would help me more to narrow it down as I might have seen the same marks on one of mine.

@franki8651 it means that, color doesn't show initially, but over time burns in, aka color slowly coming in. My sinuata took a month to show the variegation on its new leaf

Can i get some help please, keep melting my gorgeous baby alo, lost pink, velvet and dragonscale albo and frydek variegated, thry keep getting root rot, tried catching it early , took rooten roots off and soaked in hydrogen but can't seem to save them once they start dropping they rot completely
@@otaku.plants Hiya, baby alo in stratum, I was keeping a reservoir in bottom of cup ( it's a small drinks cup , no holes in) but they were just melting, now no reservoir spraying a tiny bit around top every 2 days Had one large frydek variegated in rock wool from breeder was watering when felt dry around once a week but that had now rotted too All have T5 birrana bar lights on, babies in a IKEA greenhouse
@suzannebeale7025 yeah, unpopular opinion, I am not a fan of bottom wick water. I prefer them wicking using s string. Gets too saturated with water left at the bottom. I'd keep doing what you've started, leave bottom empty and spray when drying on the top to keep them moist. Holes help with aeration. Might be worth getting holes in there somehow, letting dry air touch the roots will help the root system get some oxygen, which keeps them strong. That's why all my planters have so many holes in them. If they are rotting, let the dry cycle last longer. Let it take a breath before wetting again. It's hard to tell without seeing this for sure. Send me a picture on Instagram or etsy. 🥰

If your temp is low and your humidity is high, this will cause the plant to stop drinking & transpiring, so it ends up rotting. I plan to discuss this soon. I've been waiting for my new camera. It's called 'Pink Passion' because of the pink stem. It has a zebra-stem like the Zebrina, but it's pink.

That's a good question. There is no easy answer to this. They all genetically create corms or rhizomes at different times & stages.
