Marnie, watching how much effort and care you put into helping Shane not only stay healthy, but so that he can also enjoy his life like any teenager and eat the foods he likes is amazing. Not to be too sappy, but you are a really great mom and I'm sure your family feels very lucky.

I know this sounds crazy but I cured the rheumatoid arthritis I had battled for 15 years with the Paleo Autoimmune diet which is gluten and dairy free. It is a very anti inflammatory diet. Loved seeing your food list!! I must eat like a teenage boy, cuz i’m all over the Ben and Jerry’s non dairy!!💝💝💝

Yep, I have rheumatoid arthritis too and I have a problem with itching and super dry skin. My Doctor tested me for almost everything and I was still itching and she decided to test me for Cow Milk, Corn and Wheat allergies. I was allergic to all 3 and I stopped eating those 3 products and my knee pain completely stopped a few weeks later. I tried eating regular Pizza again that had wheat flour and dairy and OH MY GOSH, I suffered a for a few days and I haven't looked back since.

That is the best! My ankylosing spondylitis is gone, from a similar diet. The worst is trying to convince someone that has systemic arthritis to try the diet. After all we were told it is chronic, progressive and will not go away.

Coconut Aminos instead of Soy Sauce. Highly recommend. I am also living gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, peanuts, and corn free as possible. Difficult to find some food alternatives. Thank you for the cheese recommendation.

My husband was just diagnosed with EOE. He chose to eliminate wheat and dairy to see if there is any improvement of his symptoms(along with medication).
This video was EXTREMELY helpful because we are just now trying to figure out how to cook and eat GF and dairy free. We never looked at this stuff in the grocery store.
    Thank you so much!

Yes, if it works, go with it! My son is Autistic and we experiment with diets EVERY YEAR! Just like Shane, my son, Kross, is not "allergic" to any food in particular, but we recognize a difference in his behavior, attention span and sleep habits when he eats certain foods. I love that you have found meals and snacks that Shane likes! The hardest part is when we moms are forced to put our children on such restrictive diets. Most mom's can't relate. You're a good mommy! 😊💗

Sanj-e is the soy sauce that we use. I think they have several other types of sauces too like orange too. We cook a lot of Asian food at home. Mission tortillas now makes a gluten free soft tortilla that is delicious and hold up sooooo much better than the soft corn ones for burritos and enchiladas. My husband even eats them and he's not gluten free.

I was dairy free for a while because of health issues and I LOVE the Kinnikinnick brand! My brother who is by no means gluten or dairy free also loves those donuts! Their chocolate chip cookies are probably my favorite chocolate chip cookies that you can buy on a shelf (gluten/dairy free or other wise)
So Delicious Cashew Milk ice cream is a recent discovery of mine and WOW! So good! I find it hard to find a dairy free ice cream that has a good plain chocolate flavor but they nailed it!

Great video! As the mom of four boys, two of whom have multiple food allergies, I found this video helpful. My 15 year old son does have a severe dairy allergy and a few of his favorite snacks are Salt and Vinegar pop chips, Roberts Gourmet Tings and Whole Foods 365 brand chicken taquitos. All three of those happen to be gluten free as well. I buy the pop chips and Tings on Amazon by the case :)

This is awesome, Marnie! Thank you for doing this video. Especially the intro explaining everything. My 82 year old mother has an autoimmune disease and I've been trying to get her to go gluten free. None of her doctors have recommended it. Even tho she's been admitted to the hospital for severe abdominal pain She tends to believe things her church friends or strangers tell her, rather than me or family telling her so she will be watching this video. In that regard, she's kind of like a teenager 😉.

I love Schär products!! You get them nearly everywhere here in Germany. I‘m not allergic to gluten and dairy either but since I avoid eating it my digestion and skin got much better!

Great video! My 6 year old is allergic to dairy, wheat, eggs, and peanuts. We love the Schaar breads and Enjoy Life too. I highly recommend Follow Your Heart brand for dairy-free cheese!

Great video thanks for the info 👍 my daughter and I were both just diagnosed with Celiac Disease and still in the “poor us” stage. This helps a bunch to know there are still great alternatives for the tride and true favorites 😊

So very interesting. I always wondered why you did the gluten free and dairy free in your home. I notice all the gluten free options in the grocery store and am amazed. I'm glad your family has those choices!

In the UK we have an app we can download and many of the products come up as a smiley face or sad face on the app in relation to if they have gluten in them, but not all products. So, it is good to learn to read labels and ingredients. It is good that usually have them in bold here.

Thank you sooo much for this! I just recently found out I am allergic to wheat, milk, soy, rye, banana, peanuts, walnuts, catfish, peas (literally so much) but I’ve been so depressed because I feel like I can’t eat anything. This gives me so much hope❤️❤️

Wow and I thought I had it bad. For me I have a food intolerance to wheat eggs and dairy. And all it causes for me is bloating, heartburn, bumps on my body. Being allergic to that many foods would drive me insane😵

Hi Marnie, thank you for this video. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis 8 years ago and have not been able to find a way to manage it or go into remission. I know everyone is different, but I was wondering if you could share the medications and supplements that Shane takes. I've been to 3 GI doctors and haven't found them to be helpful. I wonder if Shane is using anything that we haven't considered. Thank you

I had to come back and watch this video again since I'm realizing I have to go gluten free -- no allergy either but Hashimotos and other autoimmune issues. Supposed to be on the Paleo/Autoimmune Protocol, but can't always live on it. Those donuts look so good and the cookies. And thank goodness there is a flour alternative for when I start making my Nutella Pumpkin Bread in the fall. Thanks for all the snack and flour info. I've been ordering Coconut Bliss for my non-dairy ice cream fix. It's awesome. Hard to find for me except on Amazon, but love it. Thanks again! On another note -- Wow! You are glowing so beautiful in this video. Thanks for sharing the MUA too!

Late to the show but these are great suggestions! My 17 y.o. is transitioning to a gluten free diet to hopefully help some digestion issues & my 15 y.o. has Autoimmune Polyglandular Syndrome and teenage friendly finds are a must! The Feel Good Foods gluten free potstickers are next to try on our list. Thanks again!

Thank you for taking the time to do this video! Have you tried coconut aminos in lieu of soy sauce? I prefer it to Tamari. It makes a killer stir fry sauce for it tends to be a bit on the sweet side. It is also delicious condiment for sushi.

We LOVE Tinkyada brown rice pasta in the alfredo, spaghetti, and spiral selections. Most of our family does not need to be gluten free and they still much prefer this pasta to regular pasta in meals. Also, Amy's brand gf frozen burritos are great for snacks or quick meals!

I already have a dairy allergy and was recently diagnosed with celiac’s disease so I have to cut out all dairy and all gluten in my diet and unfortunately my family’s not doing it with me so thank you for giving me ideas on things I can eat and make this whole process a lot less scary because I have been very hungry this week not knowing what I canning can’t eat without just getting so sick

I had crohns and removing gluten helped so much, when I figured out I also had a dairy intolerance - all of my symptoms disappeared!!! Unbelievable, not one doctor told me about this- I discovered both intolerances after doing a 40 day sugar fast .... it’s insane how much better I feel! None of our bodies were created to handle gluten and dairy goes through so much processing - none of our foods anymore are healthy for us it’s really scary! I’m so glad your doctor told you about this.

Hi Marnie! This was indeed a very interesting and helpful video.Im gluten free for pain/inflammation purposes. It definitely helps. Looking now to becoming dairy free so I really appreciated your recommendations.
So glad Shane is doing so well. Knock on wood. Thanks for this video. Was great!,

Rachel its the same reason I am gluten, soy and dairy free right now. Doctor prescribed to help with my stage 4 endometriosis. It has helped a lot. Plus losing the 40 pounds has helped. Good luck with your pain and inflammation problems.
Sorry to take over your comments today Marnie. Obviously this whole subject of gluten free is one I'm interested in. :)

Hi from Australia Marnie! I just discovered your channel a week ago and I absolutely love anything girly, beauty, handbag related but I also have ulcerative colitis, I'm 39 and my doctor has never told me to avoid gluten and dairy because he just didn't know, but I might just give this a go and see how I go. Absolutely loving your channel!
