Oh my gosh, thank you so much for going over this in such great detail! I think I may just attempt this now. I have to change some piston rings while I’m at it, so I hope to just pop the piston out of the top. We own a 1986 E350 base Grumman Olson step van that we use for business as a Food truck. We just cannot afford to pay someone for all the work that needs to be done. Right now I am looking at replacing the oil pan, front and rear main seals, timing chain and gears while I’m in there, and exhaust manifold gaskets, along with the piston rings. I know it will be slightly different with my E350 base, but it’s the same engine. And the same issue with crossmember, exhaust, and transmission in the way. Thanks again!
I 'm doing a oil pan and timing cover gasket replacement on a 1992 F150. Been losing coolant for about a year. Not much but every other month had to add coolant to the over flow tank. Bought a radiator pressure tester and found that coolant was seeping from behind the timing chain cover gasket. I have an engine hoist so that helps.
@@juanavila4164 no, I just loosened the engine mounts but left the transmission and transmission mounts alone. There is enough flex to raise the engine.
Right and I was wondering if he changed the rear main seal. I don't want to pull the engine so I watched both of his videos 40 plus minutes and nothing fml
Look dudes if you watch what this guy is talking about and think it's all fluff but STILL ask about the task of changing a gasket when the pan is off then perhaps this job isn't for you.
Please post your pay pal, cash app, whatever! I wanna send you some money for a 12 pack! I owe you may more than a beer. I’m serious, give me a way to send you some money 🙌🏻

Good luck.
I owe ya a beer.
I dont have any mechanical training, just learn it as i go when things break. I appreciate the extra time explaining components etc
Your video pt. 1 and pt. 2 were really good. You must be really good at what you do.
Please make more videos! You’re honestly one of the best 🎉

Excelent info on timing chain
Thank you, for being real.
Good job! One question, to lift the engine, do you have to disconnect it from the transmission?

@@HeikosGarage Thank you for responding so quickly. Blessings!!!
If you're going this deep anyway would a person not be better off to pull the engine completely out?
@@andrewj7424 if you have the capacity to pull the engine it might be easier but I don't have an engine hoist.
You should have changed your oil pump while you had it down
Definitely. Did a rebuild on a 350 ALL NEW PARTS except the oil pump. Made it 45 miles when it went out shelling the motor
How about getting to the point of changing the gasket

So how did the oil pan gasket go in trying to see how you put the oil pump back with the oil pan at the same time I’m stuck here
