I've been eating fresh blueberries everyday for about a year now. Putting them in the freezer helps prolong their life. They are naturally sweet and refreshing. I mostly eat them plain or with yogurt. I find eating natural whole blueberries is a completely different experience than having them in baked goods and syrups which I don't like. Once you try them just as they are, you might love them too.
I feel well when I eat blueberries. I appreciate that everything that God has made for us to eat (including oily fish) has antiinflammatory properties, and this appreciation is further enhanced when recognising the role that a healthy microbiome plays in our immune response. When I first became aware of the antiinflammatory properties of natural food, I felt that each delicious blueberry and blackberry (etc) was like a little note from God to say "I love you", and "I want you to be well".
Fish (now regardless of source) are loaded with micro plastics and mercury though. I steer clear. MUCH better sources for the great fats your body needs from plants.
They are also wonderful for skin. I use frozen wild blueberries because in the US these are now cheaper than fresh and sweeter tasting. I make my own jams and often use the frozen wild blueberries in place of sweeteners. I add no sugar or annoying sugar substitutes. I make either wild blueberry jam or a mix of berries while utilising the wild blueberries to sweeten.
Thanks for sharing. The key is consistency and long term. Almost like a lifestyle change. Eating blueberries have to become a way of life. Enjoy 🍇🍎🍒🍓🍅🍉🙏
I love your videos... After losing my kidney as a teenager to RCC which at that time was not common. I spent a lot of years eating the wrong things. Now I eat lots of salad with fresh cut veggies and lean meat. Not perfect but striving to get all the facts to live healthier, your videos are very informative and helpful. Thank you for your honesty on all subjects
I’m a super blueberry believer! Have 3 mature blueberry bushes that yield me about 30 or more pounds a season. When they’re season ends I keep organic blueberries stocked in the freezer year round and do firmly believe in the health claims regarding them!!!
That's good to hear I love blueberries have been eating them everyday my entire life. I love most berries and don't care for really any other kind of fruit. I like them frozen.
If you want to grow them remember they only like acid soil so if you have alkaline soil, use ericacious compost in pots and plant two different varieties for best cropping.
Here in Sweden we have Thai women selling blueberries at the roadside in late summer when they are in season. I usually buy a bucket or two and chuck in the freezer. Great if you are as lazy as me ;-)
Dear Good Doctor Dhand, I just added blueberries to my shopping list, thank you. By the way, I am tickled by your proper Queen’s English pronunciation of the subject at hand. International diversity is a beautiful thing.
Good thing blueberries are my favorite fruit. So easy to eat, mild taste with just a slight hint of sweetness, easy to digest, easy to throw into cereal, smoothies, put into milk or cream. Many mornings I'll just eat them plain with some hot tea for a light breakfast. A perfect, gentle way to start the day!
Low GI as well, so you do not have to worry about your body fat increasing due to the natural sugars. I buy mine frozen, and eat them frozen, along with black berries, and cherry's.
@@bradfiegehen7092 Has to be double cream. I also add other berries sometimes. It freezes the cream and then as the berries melt just mash them up. Be warned though. Its addictive 😁
@@bradfiegehen7092 I could be really horrible and suggest mixing in some flavoured whey Protein into the cream first but that would just be far too moreish. And sadly, stop it being so low GI but ..... 🤭 Seriously though, be good to hear if you like it as much as me 👍
Hello Dr. Dhand! This is very good! I'm taking g care of my digestive health. I want to get blueberries, I just dont like them. As I'm writing this you are answering my question! Thanks so much! Love you, God Bless!

3 years ago… We were all so innocent back then. The general public didn’t even know what a corona virus is. Anyway, I love my blueberries - wild blueberries are the best!
After reading this a month ago, I now make a big pitcher of a smoothie made with amount? 2 cup blueberries, 1 cup mixed berries, cup yogurt, and cup of orange juice.
Can I just be injected with polyphenol extracts, like the mice? I hate blue berries. I suppose I could pour some heavy cream and sugar all over them to mask the taste.
I love the quick no fuss direct information delivery.
