just want to say that I have followed your advice and you honestly may have saved my life...
I was 287 pounds with a 90 resting heartbeat and a average of 165 / 90 blood pressure WITH medications.
I was just recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and I saw one of your videos and starting to put your methods into practice. It has been 3 and a 1/2 months and I am down in weight from 287 pounds to 228 pounds! My resting heart rate has gone down to 77 beats a minute! My blood pressure has gone down to 120 / 70 and my blood sugar never goes past 100 even when i eat! (Says around 80 while fasting).

Take what dude recommended in this video and make number 3 (meat), number 1, and eliminate number one (greens) and you'll be alright. No point in eating anything green. Your eye has 3 cones. One cone deciphers blue or yellow, one is for dark or light and the last is for green, or not green (red). The whole point of that last cone is to tell us what is FOOD. Out of all the green, we see the food POP because we are looking for ANYTHING not green. Green stuff is not food. Bitterness is indicative of toxins. If it doesn't taste good, don't eat it! (Granted that your gut is in decent shape) The only exception to this that I eat is delicious sauerkraut. (No longer green 😅) because the fermentation makes it much more digestible, helps the gut microbiome, and the fermentation process helps neutralize a lot of the toxins, and it goes from being bad, to good. Just like factory farm meat takes the healthiest food from great to pretty bad.

I started in April doing intermittent fasting (fancy name for "skip breakfast") and kept pushing lunch further into the afternoon. My wife and I did a four day last month, which I am sure helped my sore knee and skin itches. I just had a cup of organic bone broth with a little cumin and turmeric tossed in. My last meal was dinner two days ago. (I'm trying to break a set point). If you can just jump in and do a 3 day, God bless you, but I think unless you have done some prep work you might get dizzy or feel sick. One happy thing about dropping carbohydrates and sugar is your appetite changes. I miss chewing and tasting food when I fast, but I don't get hungry.

Going to do a couple cleanses first, but its the autophagy I'm seeking, not the weight loss or other benefits, but they are welcome to show up as well. 3 days looks like a good minimum for autophagy. The other benefit I would want is the stem-cell/neurogenesis refresher. Getting weighed at the doctor and seeing 211 pounds was more motivation. I had never been that heavy. I retired last year from a construction job with a lot of stair climbing and sweating. Plus I was drinking too much beer. So I cut out the beer and most other carbohydrates like bread and potatoes and started riding my bike. I dropped to 200 in ten days. Then I started intermittent fasting (skipping breakfast). My wife watched a Dr. Ekberg video with me and was motivated to fast with me last month for four days (a complete fast- just coffee and bone broth). That helped my sore knee (old work injury) and I could ride my bike longer. I am now at 185 pounds, down 26 pounds in four months. I plan on doing a 3 to 4 day full fast every month, and I have not had 3 meals in one day in 4 months. Sometimes I eat only once. I hope you enjoy similar success!

Dear Dr. Sten. I am writing from Italy where I saw one of your programs by chance on UA-cam tube. I work on the construction of products for the transformation of meat, the typology are industrial grinding machines. In this delicate subject of the transformation into fine minced meat, metallic transfers are currently generated in the meat due to the exorbitant consumption of the blades and molds in. More than anything else due to the increases in production without making engineering updates to the machines that make up the sector, particularly industrial mincers which are very fast around 8000 kg/h in some cases. We have many patents in this field that reduce to 3/7 ppb instead of up to 80/100 ppm. This is only in the area of the grinding tools. The whole process inside the meat machine is a torture for the organoleptic qualities and the addition of another large quantity of iron and heavy metals, the lipid peroxidation is enormous!! So for this reason on cured meats and sausages and all mechanically processed meats are highly carcinogenic according to infinite scientific studies and universities. Stainless steel is a double-edged sword! These technologies are terribly approximate and based on ancestral tradition not considered in this time and available technologies. After 10 minutes of work, stainless steel is no longer stainless steel! It has lost the passivated layer from oxygen, whose thickness is 1 to 3 Nm = 1 to 3 millionth of MM. In a few minutes it is destroyed and what remains under the layer contains 75% Fe and about 18% Cr! that without passivated and iron. There is more if you are interested. It is too serious a topic not to be explained and resolved as we have done, but there are opposing interests...
    Congratulations and good work
    Marcello

From my experience: Grapefruits, green apples and dark chocolate are a great bench mark for how much sugar you have in your diet. If those 3 foods taste awful, you are getting way too much sugar in your diet. If they taste amazing, you are probably on the right track with your sugar intake levels. After a few weeks of a low sugar diet, healthy foods tasted fantastic but I could not even eat normal mainstream treats. They literally burned my tongue and made me feel sick. The body adapts to bad things just as much as it does to good things. Something to think about.

Whenever I bake, I automatically reduce the sugar by half, and often find that it is still too sweet. I have found the same phenomenon with salt. Most restaurant meals are too salty for me. And I find that I appreciate the tastes of the different foods so much more when they are not salty. They put salt in everything supposedly to bring out the flavor of the food, but to me it just makes it salty.

@@judylloyd7901 Back in the day dairy was expensive. Butter for example cost a lot more than it costs today. There were no or few flavored yogurt offerings - you bought plain full fat yogurt that wasn't even homogenized (which is a really bad process) or made your own yogurt and you added your own flavor by cutting fruit into it. You also didn't eat a lot of it because it was a luxury. Milk was readily accessible but you didn't have too much of that either because water or tea was so much cheaper. Also Milk wasn't homogenized - a process where the fat particles in the Milk are smashed so small that they can no separate from the water any longer thus resulting in a milk that never has a cream top. Very bad process because the particle size lets those fat droplets pass your intestines into the bloodstream uncontrolled and that's a very bad thing.

I think one thing that's important to note is there is a big difference between Cocoa (spelled with the O first) And Cacao (spelled with a first) Cocoa is the more processed version with not alot of nutrients. Cacao is unprocessed version with a ton of nutrients like, magnesium, potassium, iron, calcium, fiber ect. Also certain brands will says 85% Cacao on the front of the package....but then you check the ingredients and it says Cocoa. This is because they can not lie in the ingredient section. Some brands also have some mercury in them so its important to buy Quality Organic Cacao. Thank you for a great Video Dr. Ekberg!!

So true about the ever-changing taste buds. I experienced this when I stopped drinking soda altogether for just water. After 2-3 years of not drinking soda, if I ever want to treat myself I physically can't drink dark ones like cola or dr. pepper. They're wayyyy too syrup-y, I can barely finish a Sprite these days, so I now PREFER water.

I have also emphasized the Cholesterol myth forever. Mine is around 260 and I will never take statins to control what is naturally made by our liver. This is some of the best information on diet and nutrition that I have run across. For a person who is optimizing their diet for nutrition, it is invaluable. It is not trivial information, and turns out to be multi-faceted and detailed. To master it sufficiently may be within the ability of every person, but nobody is born knowing it and many if not most never learn it. To me this suggests that food distribution should be organized for public health and well-being, something easier said than done, instead of corporate profit and shareholder value.
