Yeah, special swords made from meteors are A Thing--Game of Thrones has them, Tolkien has them, a bunch of old legends have them. I am with personal trainer and he said that someone like Iroh already has trained years ago but let it go. He basically had the basic strenght level entire time but needed to retrain his body. Compared to someone who has never trained, he was already ahead basic body strenght alone.
@@RobinNicoagain and keep in mind that the show happens within years. Easily my most favourite episode Also I noticed that Sokka and Piandao fight using the four elements at some point. Piandao and Sokka fight using the ferocity of fire in the 1st scene in the arena, especially when Sokka tries to go on the offensive with the stab. At the bridge Sokka flips around using the Agility of an Airbender. In the bamboo forest Sokka uses the adaptability of waterbending to adapt to his surroundings, which is literally how waterbenders fight. Earth is when he throws dirt into Piandaos face, and when Piandao senses Sokka when he steps on the twig.
Much as I love the episode (and I do), I feel like the characters have kinda moved past "Sokka's useless" a while back. He has already been acknowledged for his intelligence by the Gaang more than once, so why the sudden depression? To be fair though, I don't know where they could have placed it earlier.
He was mainly the strategy/idea guy, but he felt pretty useless when in actual combat situations (which is true, he was useless most of the time). I think the writers wanted him to be combat ready because the Day of Black Sun isn't far away and he also wanted to make his father proud on the field.
Kayra Youvmir He did get super mad when toph basically gave the impression he's useless in that the chase episode. It made sense to me, in book 1 he kept making fun of kataras "magic" which gave me the impression he was jealous
There's a difference between others acknowledging your worth and you, yourself, acknowledging your worth. It's true that the other members of the Gaang have been clear on how much they value Sokka being there, but that doesn't mean that he sees that too. Now he does, though, which is great.
If I remember correctly, before the method of creating steel was invented the only place to get a metal stronger than iron was from meteorites. So swords crafted from meteorites were invaluable and gave you a huge advantage.
