They are beautiful but I would like to see a video packing them full of camping gear. ie how easily will the side doors close, how sturdy are they? Also, can you fit 2 helmets in the top case?
It’s expensive but I like Honda’s luggage because when you take it off the bike it still looks good and doesn’t have a big ugly rack hanging off the side 👍
That's not the reason Transalp has a low exhaust. The Transalp right box has space for the exhaust and even an aftermarket, higher one would fit without issues.
How tall a helmet will fit in? There's a raised bit in the middle of the top case, I'm not sure if my helmet will fit. Could you measure it? Internal height
terrible. but not for the bags, just for the sad old design, 10 years behind all new cinese motorcicles. an ugly fish for a lot of money. the Transalp 1, 2, and 3 series had ten times more personality, design and unique features. 50% components with the Hornet??.. come on..
Thanks and yes, it has a different design language, which I love. Sometimes a difference takes time to get used to. CF Moto and Voge have great design, undeniably. And yet, I love my Transalp 👍✌️😎
@@secondhandbiker most of people simply like or dislike something and even do not know what catch their emotion and their attenction. Yes, tastes are subjective but design is a SCIENCE, it is objective, it is the function that commands and the designer adapts the lines to the function. When dozens of CONCEPTS were presented (transalp and hornet) that seem to come out two futuristic motorbikes (do you remember them?) and the final result is a motorbike WHOSE SAVINGS for Honda commands the style! well, a serious and innovative company I would say is OVER . Transalp was a project. it was an innovation. it was "the function". This bike is the compromise of stealing money from customers with an object that is old even before it was born, totally different from the Concepts presented, saving on components, saving on the frame, saving on the headlight, saving on the exhaust (lower???) All these "savings" are only for HONDA and were not then returned to customers with a motorbike for €8000 to compete with the Chinese (it made sense then!) but they are only for Honda. everything is cheap, much more than the "Chinese" ones that we have always made fun of and which are finally becoming premium products, with KTM-derived engines, TOP brakes, TOP finishes and TOP quality and INNOVATIVE DESIGN. Everyone chooses what they want. But for a Honda FAN (I've had all the Honda enduros from the XL Paris Dakar 125 up to the Varadero, ALL of them) this is all very sad.
Impressive comment, spoken from a passionate designer. I do not remember the studies and I look closely at the work done by FC Moto and Benelli. Quite impressive indeed. Your Honda experience is greater than mine, even if I started with the CD 50, the CB 125, the CM400T, the XLR500, never had a Varadero though and the SD06 Africa Twin was added after a long break. Quite a big difference between the Africa Twin and the Transalp. What do you think of the new R1300GS? And curious how the ATwin will evolve. You like the Africa Twin though, I guess?

I will ckeck on fitting two helmets in the top box.

Right!👍
Looks good

Thank you, the panniers of the NT1100 fit because the exhaust is quite low.
Nice!
👍
Video of the inside of the lateral bags? Thank you!
Yes, let me see how i can show you.
Good review.
Actually I think the design looks pretty nice, what is the price in USD for the individual components/side case/top case/racks/?
I have no price info. Honda sometimes offers special deals. 👍
Did you find the side bags to be low quality. I ordered them and now am hearing people don’t like them.
The bags are good quality, some people prefer soft bags to save weight. Understandable. For road use, i like these.

I have an integral XXL and it fits easily, so no worries 👍😎
@@secondhandbiker so how tall is your helmet then? On my current bike I have a Shad sh40 and I can barely close the lid
I want to be able to put all my riding gear and helmet in the bags...is this possible
My XXL helmet only fits the topcase, not the saddle bag.
😂
