Ridiculous that this installed not on the bike at the factory, it would cost next to nothing for Honda, instead of us having to tear the bike apart to fit it later. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the video. Is the 12v socket a switched live do you know? I'm looking for somewhere to power my Sat Nav so I was thinking to hard wire it into the leads from the socket if it is switched live and not live all the time. Thanks.
On the US version you have to install the “accessory harness” as well. This is located under the seat (rear) If you don’t install that it won’t work. 👍
You actually don't. Just checked with a multimeter the fuse marked OP in the main fuse box kills the power to both the front and rear connector. All you have to do for the rear is jump the connector. The Harness is a rip off, you can find the front 12 volt socket which is identical tot eh AfricanTwin for under 20 bucks, but the "harness" us over 40 bucks. Easy enough to wire up a cheap inline fuse if you really are concerned with relying on the main OP marked fuse. Maybe an earlier revision of the bike didn't have the main fuse idk but having a second fuse is pointless.
@@TonMachielsen quick and dirty I just jammed a wire with stripped ends into the female . Ultimately I ended up buying some of the correct metal crimp on prongs and wired a cheap inline fuse up. Cost about 8 bucks to do this. I believe the correct connector type is the Sumitomo XH-060 2 pin plug.
@@richiestang78 Exactly where under the seat does the sub assembly with its fuse connect to? Was wonder what was up as I just installed the Honda accessory socket and it did not work. Then I discovered there was no voltage at the bike's harness connector. I had no idea where the accessory socket sub harness was to be used and thought Honda made a mistake saying it had to be used. I was cursing Honda as they do not show in the accessory install instructions where to use the accessory sub harness which is just a plug with 2 wires and a 3 amp fuse (with a spare fuse). Hello @IdealBike great video! I have already the 12v socket. Do you know where I can connect an integrated charger for a GPS? I suppose the connector has been already used for the socket... thank you!
I have no idea why this is not on the bike from the factory a thing that cost 10 dollar! It is the same on the NX 500 i had to install one 12 V outlet!
Strange, or did I miss him installing the fuse harness under the seat? Incidentally, replace the two or three amp fuse with 5 amp in the harness, its powered from the main fuse box accessory 10 amp fuse.
You push in the pin that is in the centre of the clip then you can pull the clip out. Then once the clip is removed you can with your hand push the pin back part way out the top. Then re-install the clip. Then push the pin in the centre in until it clicks and is flush against the clip's top area. These are extemely common clips used on many things includign automobiles.
USB power banks are so light and cheap nowadays , another option is to just carry a 20000mah version and charge your phone whilst having coffee break ., they charge an iPhone about 5 times before needing charged again ….just put a slim usb power bank under your seat when it’s flat and charge it from the usb outlet . The thing I find with using the usb outlets on handlebars is the charging cables fail very quickly . Must be oxidisation or something I have gone through 3 $30 Australian various iPhone cables including Apple Original cable in fifteen thousand kms . Better to use a $90 usb power bank they last years and cables last much longer not exposed to moisture.

Anything works, I would not use fast charging due to the amperes provided 1.5A

One question: do you know the EXACT model of the Sumitomo connector? there are millions. thank you

Привет. Подскажите, пожалуйста, какая приводная цепь стоит на мотоцикле? Ищу DID , не могу найти в каталоге.
Thanks a lot.
Does it require additional settings on the dashboard - like initialization or plug and play?
No, just plug and use
Thank you
You're wellcome!

European bikes come with the harness fitted.
Does the internal socket have a specific name? I would like to find a splitter for it.
It seems to be a Sumitomo HX 040 Series connector.
I don't know unfortunately
Can we charge battery trough this socket ? Typically on cars we can.
For the battery it's recommended to charge it by the USB-C socket under the seat (rear side)
@IdealBike mmm.. but that as sufficient voltage ⚡️ input to charge the bike battery 🔋? It's the bike battery , not an external one.
@NoTengoIlusiones With only 2A I don't think so. I have portable Huawei pump that I charge it on external battery
