    I just got mine home in the US yesterday. Very pleased with it. It is a lifetime bike IMO. Plenty of power on the highway. Nowhere near stressed at freeway speeds. Im coming off a CB500x after 30k miles. Its like a fullsize version even in appearance. My only gripes is that it does not come with a skidplate and of course cruise. . The throttle is not jerky in other modes.

    I think it was brilliant of Honda to do what they did with the Transalp. Rather than directly try to make a "T7-killer" that does everything the Tenere does but better, they just found a set of the middleweight adventure market to serve with a different set of features that fills a different set of needs better or differently, with certain compromises and concessions, at a comparable price. That's the beauty of the free market. Yamaha thinks the market wants X, Honda thinks the market wants Y. We individuals in the market are free to choose X or Y (or both!) depending on what we want!

    Good video though I would've a liked a detailed comparison to the Ténéré 700 you own. Yes you said the T7 is better off-road, but I what about more specifics RE suspension compliance, engine character, handling, braking, etc. Would you make a short video doing that please?

    I have been looking at Tenere reviews for a couple of months. I keep seeing the Honda CB500X suggestion video, so i clicked today! Which brought me here. You own a Tenere so i can 100% take your opinion. I have not had a bike since 1987. This Honda Transalp XL750 looks like a better option for me as i don't hold an A License "YET" It will be my first big bike. I'm not into speed. I rode an RD350 air cooled back in the day and tbh i have been there. Thanks for the review 🙏

    With the snappy throttle issue. That is weird! I've just seen the 'Lamb Chop' review and he has just said the opposite. Now it might just be the difference in Bikes. I'm not trying to be a Dick, I really liked the review and enjoyed the video. Thanks

      I feel it depends on the conditions.... ride it around town and at relatively slow speeds and it is really apparent. Out on the open road not so much. Anyway all you have to do is flick between rain mode and standard mode and the difference is huge

    Hi mate cheers for the vid!
    I will always maintain that I think any bike with the Hornet name should be a four pot screamer or it should be renamed so I wasn't a fan of the naked bike with this engine however for an adv application it seems perfect. Not sure if I prefer this or the Tiger 660...

    • @DaleMt09sp
      @DaleMt09sp Рік тому +4

      Tiger would fall bits off-road this wouldn’t 😂

    • @blackskunk54
      @blackskunk54 Рік тому

      Depends how tall you are. At 6' 1" the Tiger is too small for me. The Transalp is perfect. Wheelbase Tiger 660 1418mm, Transalp 750 1560mm. Seat Height is 15mm lower on the Tiger.
      The new Hornet should be called the Horney. I think Triumph need to do an adventure version of the 660 with a bigger frame, as with Hornet/Transalp. I would defo consider it.

    Too much black plastic! Looks like a wheeli bin😂 , I'm sure it's a great bike and the tri colour looks okay ish, but it's nothing ground braking, Japanese factory's have got lazy especially with styling. I Think SUZUKI have done slightly better with the new Strom.

    Honda XL 750 Transalp - Gearbox click noise - Engine turns off (sometimes)
    Hi guys.
    I bought a Transalp 750 a month ago and I think the bike has a problema.
    I would like to know if anyone has had a similar problem with this bike.
    This video shows what happens:
    ua-cam.com/video/mg8uv-6bf6g/v-deo.html&ab_channel=CarlosEstrela
    And here is a description:
    In a total of 1500 km (2 414 miles) with the motorcycle, when downshifting, I felt a weird clicking noise more than 70 times, and the motorcycle turned off the engine 5 times when this clicking noise occurred. In this video, I'm normally riding slowly at 2500/3000 rpm, but in the last sequence of the video I'm close to 4000 rpm. The weird clicks and the engine turning off also happened when I was riding above 5000 rpm. As time goes by, the clicking noises are happening more frequently and on the last ride of around 100 km, it happened 8 times. Both the clicking noises and the engine turning off could happen at any downshifting.
    Has anyone ever felt this? Is this normal?

    The Honda Transalp XL750 is much unlike most recent Honda single/twin cylinder bikes. Sharing the 270* parallel twin with the Hornet. This engine is tuned to have a very decent 120hp/litre or 91hp from a 750cc. And it's still has very decent low and mid-range torque with a high end HP Hit ! The worst of Honda's recent offerings is the NC750 that has a measly 55hp. Even the CRF1100 AT has only 100hp. What I find amusing is that unlike the Orange bikes that have a 13:1 compression to achieve that level of tune, Honda engineers were able to do it with only 11:1 compression which means it can tolerate low octane gas! That's essential on "real" adventure rides!. The only real crap-outs that Honda did was making the skidplate optional and most of all the no-SHOWa suspension components. Further more, Honda's attention to weight on the Transalp is commendable as it is actually wet-weight lighter than the Orange 790/890 competition! Honda just has to put on some real(adjustable) suspension components (not the pathetic noSHOWa) and a standard skid-plate and voila! The XL750 Transalp trumps the mid-weight ADV segment, at an unprecedented price!

    • @gsm_liv8980
      @gsm_liv8980 Рік тому

      The Honda still has Showa suspensions. They're just lower-spec than the V-Strom

    • @aapa3732
      @aapa3732 Рік тому +1

      @@gsm_liv8980 Showa can do it fantastic with the CRF1100L AT with EERA suspension, on the CRF450RL and even the CRF450RWE. But unfortunately for the CRF250L/300L, the XL750 Transalp they are noSHOWa that makes even the cheap rebound damping YSS shocks much better.

    Hmm, I've watched a lot of vids and read a lot of reviews about the new Transalp and I'm afraid I'm feeling a bit disappointed. By all accounts it seems to be a pretty decent road bike. And that's my bugbear. It's a bloody roadbike with a 21inch front wheel. Had it been more off road biased and capable I'd be kicking in my local Honda dealers door and slamming ten grand down on the counter. But if I'm honest it's more like a bigger, gutsy 500x. The cb500x's big brother with rider aids and modes. Certainly not the offroader I was hoping for.
