From 3 to 26 March, the Royal Norwegian Air Force conducted NATO's mission in Iceland providing their F-35 fighter aircraft to patrol the skies over the Ally in the High North.
During a visit to the detachment, U.S. Navy Vice Admiral Andrew Lewis, Commander of NATO's Joint Force Command Norfolk, underlined the importance of the mission and Norway's excellent support with their modern fighter aircraft.
"In terms of NATO Strategy, this mission is a refocus on deterrence. Deterrence starts here in the North Atlantic," Vice Admiral Lewis said.
