- Norway’s new F-35 stealth fighter jets intercept two Russian Tu-142 maritime reconnaissance and anti-submarine warfare aircraft and one MiG-31 fighter jet flying in international airspace south of the so-called GIUK gap (Greenland-Iceland-UK), officials said.
According to a statement issued Saturday by Norwegian Luftforsvaret (Royal Norwegian Air Force) Russian one Tu-142MK and one Tu-142MR escorted by MiG-31 fighter jet came from the north and were first noticed by the air control station in Sorreisa, northern Norway, the Joint Head Quarters informs.

“I was not expecting that, I was NOT expecting that”
2:50 - What the heck kind of F-16 is THAT? It looks like an F-16 that overdosed on steroids, then hit the gym's shoulder press to bulk up. lol
This is normal F-16C but with
additional fuel tanks. (Those things above his wings are just fuel tanks)
@@user-tc2jw3cq2d As an expert on modern avionics I can tell you conclusively that the OP is correct. Those are not fuel tanks, they are muscles.
Polish Air Force F-16C !
Oh that that's an f16v I think
@@Sporkmaker5150 yeah man
Shout out to Norway way to keep the Russians on their toes
Proud 🇳🇴🙏
f35 is so pretty and such a good plane
When the F-16s were first entered into the Air Force, I thought they were the most beautiful Fighters in the Force, they were, for their time. After speaking with some of the F-16 drivers I found out they were nicknamed "Rocket powered Telephone poles, lol. I guess it makes a lot of sense. Now, the F-22 and the F-35s are taking up the lead in the looks department, they do seem to form the description of form and performance. The Mig-29s are a great looking aircraft too, I won't go into that very much as of now.
Russians weren’t even aware they were being tracked by the F-35.
they told you?
Do you know what a stealth jet is?
Tu-95 has been intercepted by basically all generations jet fighter
It's strange how all the planes in the Russian and Chinese inventory look like reverse engineered versions of a lot of American and Euro planes?
The laws of physics, aerodynamics and stealth are the same for all countries so it's not surprising all modern jets look similar with slight variations.Further more the concept of stealth and how shape affects the RCS is actually an idea stolen from the Germans during WW2 and continued by a russian scientist so actually USA stole someone else's idea and produced the F117.
Yes Valentin, The laws of thermodynamics etc.... don't change per say? True the Germans were very advanced, Werner Von Braun being a vivid example! I think Gen. Patton was right , we should have gone to the Bulger River and dominated the Russians totally! But it is what it is, in hindsight as always....lol. I have Ideas about Plasma, and variable airframe structure, not to mention harnessing, safely, some form of power/propulsion system using, the atom. I'm just a drop a rain though, nobody needs my 2 Cents worth! I really enjoyed your reply! I feel like most people around me can't, or are unable to engage me intellectually Stay well, Thank you Valentin!!
@@eldredjoyner2556 Thanks, man.Good luck to you too.
Valentin, I just wanted to say thanks! I have allowed people over the years to bludgeon my intellect, so I really enjoy a nice discussion, and/or debate. We should come up with an Idea, and sell it!!...the labs and equipment might be a problem though?.....lol Thank's again Valentin Scott
@@valentinivanov7825 the Russian scientist name is Pyotr Ufimtsev and he was my dad’s electrical engineering professor at UCLA in the early 1990’s. Coincidentally, Professor Ufimtsev is still alive but retired from academia and periodically visits California and UCLA.
and the Russians denied they were intercepted because they didn't detect anything:)
are you sure?
Especially with the missiles mounted on the wing hard points. "Stealthy" lol
Sir Daylight Apart from the missiles are mounted internally.
Only flies in that configuration for bombing runs or long distance flying.
I think on the opposite. F-35 must have been detectable even in clean set up so they put missiles under the wings to give an excuse for their detect-ability. Why buy a supposedly stealth plane if you are going to put missiles under the wing and not inside where they should have been at first place. Pathetic...
@@eduruk Cheap way to make it detectable, so the Russians do not get a real chance to capture the radar signature. Remember, you only want real stealth when you are in a real combat scenario (wars), otherwise you are just giving intel away for free.
Winter operations...........are the greatest test........of any military! Limited daylight means night time operations are the norm. Sneaky! Dangerous! Land,Sea and Air! Of course you ain’t going to be seeing clips of all this dark activity! Seeing in the dark.....is an ongoing chess game.....with poker players! God Bless! Stay warm! No Coffee.....just Hot Coco....with marshmallows! Just like Moms! Refueling is a stressful moment of all missions.......routine......isn’t routine. A nod to all boom operators out there! This house of cards.....can fall with out refueling! Thus the need for more interceptions!
Absolutely crazy ridiculous how many ads Google pushed in this 10:20 minute video. Not worth the $10.00 a month. But I always come back for the great videos US DEfense News sends out to me.
Plot twist: Russia did this to take pictures of Norway's brand new fighter planes.
greetings from Norway
The base the russians got noticed from is an hour away from my house
Way to go...!
Only in Italy, my country, all are pleased to see the aggressive posture of the russian, I’m at your side, the side of NATO! 🇳🇴 🇮🇹
maybe they did, to observe the F35s. The Netherlands used the F16 for QRA and not the F35 yet. So they leave us alone in the Netherlands.
A big slap for the people who criticize such an advanced aircraft!
2:51 F16 from Poland ! Nice
Yeah that's me
Wait really? Do you acually fly?
@@mini_rider3756 yesh
Lol them Russians had no clue until they pulled up next to him. That's what stealth aircraft is supposed to do like they say first shot first kill that's the goal with stealth delay detection until you get first shot!👍 Good job boys nice to see f35 throw crickets at the haters..
I've seen this misconception alot, but the f35 and f22 will not be able to kill the russians before they notice. While the F35 and F22 do have the best stealth technology in the world and could evade russian radars, as soon as they shoot their first BVR missile all sorts of warnings will go off in the Russians's cockpit. Yes, they can evade russian sensors, but they cant kill the Russians before they realise whats happening. The f22 and f35 may be stealthy, but their missiles are anything but.
You obviously don’t know with the AIM-20 AMRAAM missile is. It’s not a misconception, if stinger missiles are enough to shoot down a Russian jets in Ukraine what the hell do you think the F-22 and 35 do? When it shoots at you all you know is there’s a missile coming at you at mock 5 even though you’ve jammed it, you’re essentially dead or a soon to be pilot without a plane.
There is hardly any actual footage of the event. All robot yapping robotvoice and montage of stock clips. Just to keep people in to spam them with ads.
I concur ... that's why I gave them a THUMBS DOWN ... real cheap video producers using canned speech, unrelated and at times inaccurate stock footage and stretching it past the magical 10 minutes.
Uh oh, now they know you're on to 'em...
Indeed, sorry for my time.
The Norwegians should hold on to their f16s though the F35s a good but in a close quarters combat situation f16s would be ideal
You don't think the mig was hiding in space when it wasn't with the bomber? I feel like that's the only thing a mig 31 would be good at for accompanying such a slow plane, the mig isn't very maneuverable or anything.
Bear plane just made a full analys of F35 ! 😂
Not fully.
@Ace of Spades I don't think he has.
Cred to norway for that
I wonder if the Norwegian commander told his men prior to take off "You screw up just this much.......you'll be flying a cargo plane full of rubber of shit out of Hong Kong!"
"Tu-142 Mister"
I think it’s AMAZING Norway has the most advanced Military jet ever made anf buying 60 more BUT they have such a large number of F16’s that they want ALL retires by 2022, they truly ought to keep at least half them . What they should do is Japan and Israel along with the US have the latest and best updates fir the F16 updates that make it a 4++ F16. We’ll see.
Problem is the upkeeping cost of both the F-35 and F-16, its simply to high. And they have to be used or else they break down. We dont have time, nor interest in keeping them.
The Russian sortie was launched with the mission of enticing Norwegan F35's up close for detailed electronic analysis. It was a great success according to the Russian military. The Pentagon (via NATO) initially warned Norway against getting fooled into doing this.
good idea on russian part you would have to be rather foolishly competent in your aircrafts ability to not have a counter worked up against it to ignore the advantage it would give anyone who had to try shooting it down.
it's always better to assume the foe can come up with a way to kill you.
AussieMaleTuber lol you are a fool. The f 35 was probably strapped with radar reflectors to hide the true radar cross section of the f35
They have radar reflectors on
Luneburg lenses. Yeah. Same with several years ago, the Russians were screaming about how the S-300 system can detect the F-22 from ranges of 250 miles and can track them at 150!..,.Turns out those F-22 were on a ferry mission with four fro tangs each and were also carrying at least two luneburg lens each also b
My best friend dad was flying one of the f-35 planes 😎
nice, which one of them?
I hope they upgrade a few of those
UK-Norway naval-air forces now have the Iceland-Faroes gap sealed like it was WWIII already. With rich Norway's modern systems, nasty Putin's aging and indifferently crewed navy and naval airforce are now outmatched in the Northern Sector, even if the Baltic Fleet could make it past the balts (and the Kriegsmarine) to join battle....
HEY! Nice Catch! Norway! Football or Fishing!

It did not officially declare it.
When did we declare that
Russians show video of allied aircraft apparently being intercepted - and shooed away / forced to change course. This clip identified as F-35/ intercepting Russian flight -must have been a difficult mission as Putin's Planes were 'cloaked'. Great footage of mid air refueling .
cloaked MIG. LMAO
Couldn't you have found a human voiceover or a more human sounding voice synth?
Norway call you big brother Sweden JAS 39 GRIPEN,SWEDEN RULES AND TAKE CARE OF YOUR PROBLEM
Don't use of 35 as interceptors Russia will learn the radar signature offer them Use the f15s
Don’t worry f 35 and f 22 are usually equipped by radar reflectors
They routinely hide their true RCS. Even f they knew what it was, there's not much they could do about it. You can't change the laws of physics.
@@timblizzard4226 I wonder about that. At BVR distances, yeah. But an aircraft that intercepted you and is currently right off your wingtip, and a moment ago was less than a half mile behind you.... I think they'd get a real clear picture of an F-35 Radar "print". I think that might be the reason we haven't sent any F-35s to intercept Russian Aircraft yet... This video only claims that Norway's F-35s tracked the Russian planes, not actually intercepted them.
F35 lightnings not f16s
I just hope than everyone realize that higher innovation on military equipment just destroy human being, belong to their human being country.

if norweigeian intertcepting russian aircraft in international space is legit > is the same to russian intercept any other in internatitonal space is legit too?
Наши истребители постоянно вылетают на перехват самолетов НАТО около наших границ. Это норма.
The Russians do not conform to sending a flight plan nor do they answer any communication .so that is one of the reasons why the are intercepted ensure safe flight through airspace
@@millny123, you are not familiar with real information on NATO and the United States. The United States and Norway have refused to turn on transponders on their aircraft during reconnaissance missions along the Russian border. And notifications about their flights and especially exercises abroad of their country, the United States has not done for a long time, they do not care at all. They make money in satellite countries, selling military equipment, consumables, spare parts - it's just a market. I doubt that one of the sane people would want to live on a radioactive planet….

When they dont respond on radio and keeps coming closer to Norwegian borders every time they "test" our response we have to respond. Russia`s Navy have started getting extremely close to Norwegian waters as well, which is why theyre also always intercepted.
