Just last night I was working on homework and I don’t know when it happened but I somehow how ended up just sitting there thinking about how big my handwriting is and how bad I am at cursive this went on for like 20mins till I realized that I’m not even half way through my homework. The worst part is I haven’t even attempted to write in cursive since 3rd grade to put things into perspective I’m about to graduate from high school.
I feel like INFJs are there own therapists but still need to share their thoughts to someone about why they’re so depressed in detail to feel better
Yes, but "feel better" is one step later, in the end. It comes with clarity, nuances of clarity regarding those "thoughts". The feel-better is a nice side effect, if it reaches that "point" :D
I've had 'thought dumps' when I've bottled up too much then non-INFJs get overwhelmed when they've been in the vicinity when I got overwhelmed. It's like a Pythagorean siphon of thoughts, once I start to overflow I don't stop until near empty (I had to google the name as I forgot 'pythagorean'). I've talked for over an hour about what has been on my mind in that moment.

As an INFJ when i share my emotions to certain someone, they just don't reach my expectations and I'm always let down. By that time I regret sharing it in the first place and isolate myself even more

I wish I could stop zoning out so badly, I always panic when I realise the other person has been talking for five minutes and I can't even remember how the conversation started. Then I'm just idiotically smiling and nodding and throwing in a tiny laugh for good measure all the while hoping what they don't figure out I've got no clue what's going on 😅

I busted out laughing at "my therapist is always telling me about his issues during my sessions..." - literally happened to me. He even told me I didn't need to be there but to come back if I ever needed to talk. LOL!!!

Yeah me too. In a session my therapist started to cry while talking to me aboug her stuff and after that, I never saw her again because she took a pause
I laughed so hard, every therapist I go to does this to me. I’ve literally decided to go to college to become a therapist myself.

My sister hates it that I always say Idk. I don't have the heart to tell her that I don't really want to talk longer than necessary and just want to end the conversation the soonest. As much as I would like to tell her so, it's considered rude in our culture since she's the oldest and I'm the youngest. 😭

Fr lmao 😭 when I look back on my friendships, it's mostly the other person talking
I got stuck in a Cost-Co for an hour and a half because an employee kept talking to me about...whatever. I did the "uh huh", "or really?" "no way," the entire time. When a customer showed up he would say " hold on, I'll be right back." He'd deal with them and return and talk more. I didn't have it in me to just leave while he was helping them because I didn't want him to feel bad. But I still had an empty shopping cart and hadn't had supper and was hungry. I just really hope to this day he appreciated that I gave him that much of my time.
Everyone I've told this to thinks I'm a crazy person for staying that long. They don't understand the internal conflict I guess.
My INFJ Mom could fall asleep during a movie and wake up knowing what was going on and answer questions. Super powers.
I do that too and my sisters freaking hate it. They always say “I thought you were asleep! You weren’t supposed to hear that!” I now know most of the family drama. 🙃
Ahaa, I finally understand why I could always answer teacher's questions even when I was not paying any attention during the whole lesson :o

Two things I can say as an INFJ is that
I'm constantly torn between:
(1) just wanting to live peacefully off grid with animals vs. becoming powerful enough to make the world right
(2) hating humans and wanting to leave them to their miseries cause they deserve it EXCEPT I'm not capable of leaving people behind

Ngl i wanted to be a dictator to forcibly improve my country by renewing every flawed part of the system but if people see me as the bad guy might as well let the country burn. :)

LOL. This one was so frighteningly and hilariously true ,it made me laugh out loud.
I thought it was just me but all infjs do this. I'm like doing this all the time, bursting with excessive information on topics that intrigue me, telling people everything and more that I know. Especially arts.......I can speak a whole damn 1000 words essay after reading a 100 words article 😂 it's so passionate. I think this is also what makes FJ such a good youtuber.

One time I asked this random guy to get something off the top shelf for me. We wound up talking for over an hour about his health issues. I also one time went to the apartment office to put in a request for maintenance and wound up talking to him for two hours. This is why I need to stop talking to people. lol
But we're constantly looking for a person we really WANT TO connect with like 👀🤷😢

I've never laughed so loud in my life. People always ask me for advice in marriages relationship even when I'm single. I've usually nodd and give them advice based on the k-dramas that I've seen instead of telling them that they should see a marriage counselor.
And I always get lost in department stores and car parking lots, but have no problems telling roads directions.

Every. Single. One of these is accurate. My therapist would talk about his problems during our sessions and I never had the guts to tell him I didn’t like it. Everything else too in here is accurate. I stare at people I zone out I’m bad at listening but I also like helping people. Good job

I wish more INFJs were like this, not going to lie. All too often they assume nobody wants to hear it and keep it to themselves. It can be frustrating talking with them because you can just tell there's so much under the surface, but they present themselves as chill and friendly and don't direct conversations where they want it to go for fear of being too pushy.
That's because when we do that we're called "too deep".
I tend to just have chill or casual conversations and not overstep my boundaries when dealing with people.

Bloody hell, you nailed it on the first one! It's something I've always thought about myself before doing the mbti test as I've often felt unopinionated or that I'm trying to be too diplomatic, but I honestly really do see both sides of the story!
The INFJ truly is the cursed personality type. The high school social stuff was really tough for me but I thought it was just a phase and that it will be better now. Then I found out about the MBTI test and now my world falls apart again :/

I stand on my visions and watch everyone come true. But I don’t mention them,because nobody wants to go there. I’m not what you think I am,or category you put me end. so true! I know an Infj and he is this and more, like he went to Starbucks once to get a water and the cashier got into a full fledged convo about him and his tumultuous relationship with his girlfriend. The guy was a total stranger, no previous history, just went and spilled his utmost thoughts on the subject.
One of my oldest and best friends is an INFJ and she is just so comically brutal with the truth. She looks at you with her beautiful blue eyes as you speak than two minutes later admits she wasn't listening to a single word. Love the INFJ.

@@malu8380 If you are our bro, INFJ, then this most likely happens because you are processing previous events / conversations, and here new ones are already coming in, but you are busy.
In addition, maybe people are not as exciting as they think, most likely their topics of conversation may be trivial for you and you have already thought about this topic 3 thousand times from different sides and right now it does not catch your attention at all, especially when there are more interesting ones thoughts in your head. Have you tried disconnecting during an extremely interesting conversation on an intriguing topic? If so, I think you've been focused for a lot longer.

@@bethanyabigial7416 lol yes this does hover in our minds, it depends, on one hand it’s the thing and the flaw that happened to disrupt the perfectionism that object was in, on the other hand is its sentimental value. I might not be so attached to a shirt I just bought that my sister borrowed and made it not perfect anymore so I’ll buy the same shirt again. Yet I will cling to my old PJ that reminds me of a past nice period of my life. We do weigh things.
But we definitely do have that burn it to the ground, ditch it in a hole, throw it off a cliff extreme.

It's why I naturally tend to play Devil's Advocate and speak for the person not there. "Well maybe it's like this". As I have grown up I have learned that some people don't want to understand the other person's behavior - something which could clarify the situation and make it better. Instead it's "Why are you never one my side?". I am but I think all perspectives should be considered!

I particularly love "I'm really not that good at listening, I'm just good at guessing what people were talking about while I was zoning out." I can't tell you how many times I've panicked while listening to someone, realizing I'd spent the last five minutes in my head, and now they're asking me a question about what they were talking about. By some miracle, I almost always manage to respond correctly. 😅😂

I felt very exposed watching this and for some reason it felt kind of good that somebody else seemed to understand things about me that I don't even fully understand.
Oh my, the “hour conversation after reading a pamphlet” thing... I will see ONE instagram post covering a fraction of some topic and when the opportunity presents itself, I will have a full blown conversation about it as if I know everything about that topic.
Being able to expand on such little information has always been super handy when trying to meet the word count on essays.

The power of overthinking and reading a lot of random stuff is honestly a great combination
You read something, you start overthinking that something using information you already learned in other books or pamphlets, you create theories, you prove those theories you had either right or wrong, and boom you just expanded the theme a whole lot without even wanting to.
I always wondered why my friends would complain about writing papers in school. While I’m over here like dude just give me a topic/book/article and I can give you a 750 word treatise on it

That’s the advantage of INFJ in academics especially when it’s output-based courses.
Once during class, i was completely zoned out. I’m staring at the board with empty heads and my lecturer see it through my eyes. So he started pointing out students to ask questions, me being the first. I was completely flustered since i know damn well i am not listening to him. But somehow, i managed to answer the question accurately with examples and explanations included that i shocked myself. I was like “holy shit how did i do that”. My lecturer was shocked too, he didn’t see that coming at all. Anyway, thats the level of power we INFJs hold.

My teacher was going around the room having everyone read a paragraph. I counted the amount of people and figured out what paragraph would be mine. I then took a nap. She called on (I woke up the second time) and she had the biggest smile thinking she got me. The look on her face was priceless when I started reading from exactly where the last person left off

a few weeks ago my two best friends stopped being friends because of a disagreement they had, and I tried so hard to understand every point of view and make the other person understand the other person's point of view and I got so overwhelmed and stuck because... they were both right... somehow

I literally had to teach myself not to stare at people because apparently it makes them uncomfortable. Like, normal people usually looks at their hands, the wall, other people, while they talk, they don't stare right into your soul.

After becoming friends with a lecturer, she confided in me that she initially thought I might be a crazy person because of the disconcerting amount of eye contact I made during her lecture. 😳🤣 Nope...just an INFJ peering into your soul.
I had a roommate tell me my eyes scare her because she felt her soul was naked.
I actually have the opposite problem. I don't know if the 16personalities test is reliable, but apparently I'm an INFJ-T (some other tests also had INFJ as a possible classification based on my answers). Despite this, I can never look at a person's eyes for too long or I get uncomfortable (especially if they have pretty eyes), so I either look at the ground or start looking elsewhere. My aunt in particular told me I have to start looking at people in the eyes to look more confident.

Wow. I feel naked and exposed. My one push back would be I do actually enjoy listening to others talk, I find people insanely interesting. The only issue is that Ni zone out where I find myself dissecting what they’re saying and then five minutes have passed and I haven’t been listening.

I had a girl once get REALLY aggressive because I was looking at her... she was in the middle of the room talking to all of us. I didn’t realize I wasn’t supposed to look at someone when they’re talking 😂😂

Sometimes it's - I can't imagine it other way - and other times it's just a fact the person would (probably) not understand the illustration.
Well, People tend to worry about your sanity when you try to present a concept to them a stick figure/scribbled illustration that in the end will just be more confusing both of you. I'm an artist.... Just not THAT kind of artist unfortunately so... Eh...

I tried seeing a counselor after a traumatic experience and then found myself performing to make her happy. She felt really good about herself and the session after we were done.

Hahah..true, my therapist told me that she likes talking to me and extended the session by half an hour :)
@@connieturner2764 yes! I have that need too. When I'm down & depressed, I gotta get silly & make someone laugh...then I know "my work is done here " Making someone feel better ALWAYS helps me to feel better.
I would go to my therapist and she would literally just let me talk it out to myself in the corner (which I hated) because she would say “you’re very aware of yourself, don’t ever let anyone put you on meds” it got to the point where she would take some of my own insight and use them for quotes on her website 😂😂
My college counsellor said the same and I’m an INFJ too. I didn’t know this happens to other INFJs too 😂

I've often felt like I must have some sort of psychic sign above my head inviting random people to tell me sob stories/childhood traumas/ways they've been mistreated.. It's often interesting until it lasts too long and I start getting emotionally exhausted + can't find a way out!

As an INFJ, I feel so called out right now xD Especially with the first one. At some point my parents both started confiding in me whenever they have a little quarrel, and they always are both right in some way. Even though I don't think the same as they, I can still understand why they think that way. It's almost frustrating to them that I don't pick a side. 🤷 And, yes, I'm my siblings' free therapist without even trying... lol
