    I love being an INFJ but sometimes it’s rough fitting in with “society”. All we ever want to do is help others but when it comes time for us to get help people abandon us. We give so much but are rarely understood so the part where it says we’re lonely really resonates with me. I don’t have hardly any “true” friends because I could see through people’s facade very easily so I tend to stay away from fake people with ulterior motives. I am a very loving person who has so much to offer and I’m lucky my family and husband values me for my uniqueness. Much love fellow INFJers ❤

      I gave up drinking years ago, but when I drank I was an expert at
      small talk. It's hard to make small talk when sober. How can people stand it? Don't they realize how phony they sound, and how funny??

    • @chrislim7976
      @chrislim7976 Рік тому +18

      I think part of being abandoned when we need help is because people see us as natural helpers with a strong intuition and empathy radar. People don't see that sometimes we need support as well. It doesn't have to be anything groundbreaking. Because of our inherent empathy we appreciate any support.

    • @bjbj6002
      @bjbj6002 Рік тому +21

      we don't ever ask for much, but when we do ...after we've given so much already, to be suddenly abandoned...fuk it hurts and feels like betrayal. But we know we are strong and will help ourselves out of our situation. I feel I have gathered many scars on my heart but strangely I wear them as badges of honour.

Going to the last comment, I'm learning to try to have more of a tunnel vision to life but at the end, I've sponged all the energy around and I still need sometime to recover. All the while preparing for it over again. 🫠 finding these comments are refreshing 😊

      100% taken for granted.
      I've just started changing my own ways, I'm starting to not give people second chances (and then third and forth and so on) WHEN THEY DON'T EVEN ASK FOR IT! 😓
      I feel so stupid that I've done this all my life, and considered it mercy and help (which in fact it is, but the problem is that people do not value it. So if you keep doing this, they'll never respect you or value what you give. They'll just USE you. 😖
      I am finally starting to change on this. And I am grateful to God for opening my eyes and making me finally understand my mistake (although I am sorry it took me so long).

      Yes literally I do! A breakup in my past that came out of nowhere for me nearly made me suicidal because I was so deeply in love and I was so broken hearted. I’m also bipolar depressive and suffering other mental health issues and a very sensitive empath but it took months to get over and I dropped like 20 pounds and I’m only 4’11. My Mom was very worried about me. But I’m a survivor I had 2 little boys to raise and I wasn’t leaving them I had to be a Mom first for them!! They were more important than ME so that’s what pulled me out of my crying. And when he wanted me back after 6 months... F*** OFF!!

      It's been 9 years since my last relationship. I'm 23 now. So that was back in high school. My first and last. Don't know when's the next one gonna be. I find the dating game and courtship exhausting. I've been told I'm attractive and women have shown interest in me(not a flex), but I just can't commit or something. Like there's this high bar of standard that a woman must meet before I even consider going out with her. Think of it as clinging to my 'ideal' partner. Thing is, no one will ever be an ideal partner for everyone. And that sabotages my dating prospects. Besides, I do this INFJ thing where I fit good anywhere, yet don't feel like I belong anywhere. There's this constant contradiction of wanting to be alone, yet not wanting to be lonely. I wonder if anyone feels like this?

    • @lem09able
      @lem09able 3 роки тому +20

      @@nellig_anne I see, that is relatable. Sometimes, there's also this feeling of me being invasive because I see through most people. I seem to accurately judge someone's character based on demeanors and expressions. Even on dating apps, someone's profile picture is enough to give me a general outline on what that person is and how she thinks. "This lady is shallow. This one is a narc. This one is insecure." And so on. And when I meet people, it feels like I'm invading their personal space by knowing too much about them. Seeing through someone's facade/fakeness also doesn't help. It just makes me aware that most people are faking interactions just to get by.

    As an INFJ, I always believed that experiencing a painful and heartbreaking ending to a deep relationship would make one more cautious about jumping into a new relationship, even if it's just a casual one. Being a traumatized INFJ can lead you to choose not to have any best friends.

      I'm pretty sure this is me. Have no close friends and although I feel lonely I am way too terrified of getting close to someone and I've gotten somewhat used to feeling lonely. I love my family and I would love to find someone I can completely trust that isn't already family, but sometimes I feel like I'm so alone and out-of-touch with the world around me that it's actually impossible. I think my entire childhood was just a long, drawn-out, socially traumatic experience and that's why I'm like this.

If you are one of the other personality types watching this video, know that all 16 types have equal capability to be good people. They just all see the world differently. I once worked with a large team of individuals. There was one woman who I always felt connected to. At meetings, if something was said that didn't sound right, she and I would always catch each other's eye as if saying, "oh no, here we go again." It wasn't sexual, just a connection on a different level, a different plane. We all ended up going to a team building weekend. That's the first time I took a Myers Briggs test or even heard of it. After we were tested a man from MB read the results. Ends up, we were both INFJs. Everyone else on the team was mostly Extroverted and Thinking types. The man told the group that they were very fortunate to have not one but two INFJs in the group. That it was a very rare type. He said the rest of the group were mostly concerned with things but that the two of us were the heart and soul of the group because we cared more about how the choices the team made effected people. He recommended that the team always check in with either one or better yet, both of us. Of course, the team didn't take his advice, and we both eventually left the team.

    Being an INFJ and emotional empath can be a curse and gift. I would attract “emotionally broken” people who have broken relationship with their parents and family. I would sense their struggles from a distance and have the urge to ask how they’re feeling and sometimes befriend them. After a while of being friends with them, they often share their problems to me (thru text, call, and in-person). However, I absorb their emotions like a sponge to the point I end up feeling overwhelmed. Also, it’s difficult for me to share my problems with them because I don’t want to burden them more, so I would shut myself from everyone for days to recharge myself by painting, writing, playing music, etc. Sometimes, I wish someone would understand me as much as I understand others, which is a huge struggle for me.

      Like you want someone to hold you and actually listen to what you NEED and what you WANT, instead of like being the older sister or brother to rely on. It's really hard also if um you're also an INFJ with a not really "idealistic" family. I feel as though for my "ideal" family, I would want them to show me affection, of course not always, but a feeling like I know I can count on them when I need it. Some families don't really I feel like can show a lot of affection obviously, but it's kinda hard to go against them when THEY'RE YOUR FAMILY, and you don't know whether or not they kind actually love you for you or for your achievements. 😅 I kinda also don't really I guess have the "best of friends" I feel for me, but for me I can kinda just tell that they um have A LOT of expectations of me to be with them. I'm not sure if people will ACTUALLY read this or not because I'm just kinda rambling on in the comments because I don't really have anything else to console, but it's just REALLY making me happy to know I'm not alone, even if I know I'm not alone, it's kinda hard for me to tell people. 😅✋ And I also don't really know what to do with myself in my situation.?

    I definitely am an INFJ. I took the MBTI test 4 times and the results is always INFJ-T. And I now understand why. I can relate in almost all of these things. I feel nervous when it comes to meeting new people, but I'm also very talkative when it comes to my small circle of friends. I always observe someone's behaviour and I can sense whether I can be friends with them or not, I also don't want to force myself into fitting in with people who I think doesn't have the same ideas/understanding as me but I'm always open with any discussion and I always make people feel heard and happy (I thought I'm just being too nice and I sometimes hate it bc some ppl might think I'm being plastic or smth). But yeah, I'm shy and sometimes thought I'm dumb bc I don't know what to say when it comes to socializing but I feel so smart inside my head. I have a lot of ideas and things that I'm always thinking and curious about. My escape of reality is writing, whenever I feel sad, happy, angry etc. I always write them bc I feel like talking isn't enough to express how I feel. I also solitude myself in need to recharge my energy before I can go back and socialize again. I love being alone. There was a time I thought I'm weird because I feel like the way I act is totally different from others, I thought of trying to change myself, trying to be more extroverted and expressive. But you know what, I don't care anymore lmao. I'm just gonna be myself because in this way I can actually find genuine friendships.

      this sounds more like infp to me. it definitely is introverted and feeling oriented, but the factors you chose to highlight fail to focus on orientation, assertiveness and empathy (some of the most important pillars for INFJs). when you're an INFJ, you can immediately tell if someone has been misstiped as an INFJ or is a real INFJ. i recommend you search up and try the sakirnova test; it's far more exhaustive and accurate in its results.

    Just found this channel and it’s a keeper. I can definitely relate to these signs. It’s difficult as a man to have this personality type. Feeling other’s emotions and always trying to see both sides of everything can be draining. Watching these videos have helped me learn more about myself and why it’s so hard to feel like I fit in this world. A lot of people take advantage of guys like me and learning to set boundaries is a difficult endeavor. Being misunderstood for wanting to help or listen to others in pain makes me extremely sad so I keep to myself which is a lonely way to live.

    Neat. I’ve taken several personality tests over the years and consistently score infj.
    I can relate to almost everything in this video. I find myself drawn to the suffering, I can get entangled in others’ feelings if I’m not careful. I’m going to school for psychology, have very deep values and see right and wrong in black and white. I can read emotions pretty well and I can spot a lie or a mask fairly easy. I might not be able to guess motive, but I can tell when hidden motives are there. And also, I find myself over explaining very often to not be misunderstood, which is very common. Last, I could care less about money, it’s souls that matter to me. Thanks for the video.

    Being an INFJ can be difficult. Especially when encountering narcissistic and emotional manipulators. Once INFJ's have come into their power, those users are powerless. INFJ's are not pushovers. They don't like conflict, but will fight for what is right. They won't give in or give up. INFJ's can be fearless and unmoveable. People open up to them without any fear of judgment. Being an INFJ myself, has been a very interesting experience. Emotional balance and healthy boundaries are key.

The narcissist is born of nature and manipulation in the name of survival is exactly that, a product of nature. Narcissism and codependancy can often be the product of mistreatment, so the root is not so easy to discern.
      Many codependants have offered up their horrific experiences on Quora, terrified of being alone as they had been as children, they stayed in abusive relationships. If a narcissist is evil, than what is a human born without the capacity to love? Where might that root be?
      You should do your research if you care about the human condition. Fetishsising human behaviour has certainly caused much harm in the world. Narcissists are dangerous, many codependants can be remedied by therapy. I don't think either are the "root of all evil".

      Now I just don't care anymore, if I feel something I'll warm you, if you ask how I know, I won't bother trying to explain, I just say I don't know, if you like take my advice whatever happens when you refuse to listen to me is on your head, but when they come back to complain I rub in their faces before I instantly come up with a solution, they wonder how I come up with solution so fast, the thing is I've already played every possible scenario and outcome and formed multiple plan B's for said outcomes far before the outcome plays out, now those close to me, in my life rarely argue when I give them advice, they just take it, albeit sometimes begrudgingly, they just do it, because they know I'm most likely right. I cut off people who refuse to listen to me and end up making terrible mistakes multiple times.

      As an INFJ, for me, I try not to overthink of conflicts with only my emotions. I try to rationalize things to prevent myself from feeling overwhelmed. It’s already a burden for me to carry others’ emotions and mine together, so I try to reduce it as much as possible. I deeply think of a conflicts in a way of connecting the puzzles together and make it into a bigger picture. Sometimes I overthink stuff about the load of work to the point I procrastinate, but if I think through it, it’s not as bad as I thought it would be.

    You need to mention the INFJ door slam. Knowing about that helped me a great deal. People suggest noticing things earlier, but I do notice things, I just hope disloyalty, untruthfulness, or unkindness are one-offs caused by stress or some incident. But when I see it as a pattern, the door slams. I understand that some behavior is connected to a lack of reflection and insight but, if it is just part of someone, I wish them well and leave.
