That Emily Brontë quote perfectly sums up us INFJ's - we don't want the limelights and CEO offices, just give us a cozy room behind the curtains.
Unfinished projects, WIPs, perfectionism, procrastination & the desire for our work to speak for itself instead of having to advertise it... you've hit the nail on the head!

Thank you so much, John, for putting yourself in the limelight, online! I fit the INFJ personality type to a T and I appreciate the understanding and support you offer. I'm just getting a little book published that I wrote about letting go then loving yourself and others. I tell my stories about how it all came about and why I felt the need to write it. It seems to resonate with many others, largely because (in INFJ style) it has little ego. I don't want followers or fans (because I value my quiet and solitude so much) so I had to ponder carefully about how to promote it. It is all coming together so synchronistically that it is blowing my mind. Blogs like yours really help to support and encourage INFJs to put themselves out there without getting overwhelmed. Thank you!

This is the first video that I have EVER seen combining art and the INFJ type specifically, and also the first of yours. (Sorry, a couple tears fell on your face😊). Still, I did not subscribe until the moment I realized you actually ARE a true, dyed in the wool INFJ yourself. I observed more closely, & it became obvious, ha. I am also a more recently self-discovered INFJ, and after all these years of confusion and frustration often boiling over (it's like I was at war with myself), everything now makes sense! Now I am more peaceful, I happily live like a hermit making do with very little, and I'm painting to my heart's content every day. I should have listened to my inner voice many, many years ago!
To those of you who realize you are an INFJ earlier in life: lean into it, it IS a strength, and knowing that is FREEDOM. I am getting older in years, but.. I am in touch with my inner child and feeling much younger than I probably should! 😂

Just wanted to note, it’s so true about wanting to keep working on a project to get rid of the imperfections that you as the artist might see. But I need to tell all the other infj’s out there, of my many times I truly did not want to put certain works up for sale because I was embarrassed about all the unfixed flaws I saw, but they ended up being my best sellers!
Just do it and get it out there. That’s still very difficult for me to do!

Very good thoughts on how to be an INFJ and an artist.
There is one aspect though, that have vanished, not only for you, but in generel: What is success?
As an INFJ my selv, and an artist, I really don't care about financial succes, or to be famous. I care about succeeding with my art and my life.
When , and if, I succeed the other criteria I welcome it as a necessary evil. :))

Wow. I just aspire to wanting to do it! I have to play childish (to me) games to push me out of complacency, perfection fears and lack of desire. One world is overly stimulating ( when I’m applying what I’ve learned to actual project) and the other is total disengagement with anything resembling creativity. I wish I had met more people like this presenter. I totally don’t have a tribe. I’m literally isolated ( except yay youtube) out in the country in tiny community (150 population) and solo as all get out. Ideally I should have found peace and relaxation in retirement with all this time to do art and grow that way. It is so hard when you not a mainstream type of person! You know how you just don’t really fit in anywhere. I had to laugh when you mentioned do a hobby as part of self care routine….i thought doing art was my hobby….not needing it as a source of income. I’m on the wrong channel! God I should be counting blessings! Solid stuff is said here though if I was in my prime.

INFJ ARTIST. A psychologist knowing I was Dyslexic, gave me a tests, with given consent to use a few tools, I use to read better. One to read upside down, and the use of a transparent f Plastic film.. He was the one who told me I was Classified as an INFJ. then going into the meaning.. To me was "SO WHAT" Owen Gromme wildlife Artist knew I was dyslexic, and taught me bout even doing Art upside down. and the Red transparent film. , He often caught me skipping school, and drawing the wildlife in the Museum where he worked.. However in the 60's Wildlife art and learn the anatomy, design of buildings., all was Tossed out. Wildlife was nothing more than copy work, yet a sink full of dirty dishes. or cut up beef cow in a slaughter house got RAVE Reviews., along with a yellow square next to a green one, or dripped on paint.. Today it still is big to see splattered paint, dripped on paint, making a figured face look like someone in anger attacked them.. Otehre pour on paint from 4 cinch measuring cups to pour different colors on top of each other., then swirl around. Yes , some even I like. My work is NOT accepted. Due to the way people have been trained to look at realism Nature are as nothing more than Copy work, the very reason Why Art galleries Reject even ROBER BATEMAN's Work. Strange how so many say they believe in GOD, yet. consider the work of God's creation nothing more than CHEEP COPY work or illustration work. Ignorant as I see it, as a means to destroy more land because it is a Waste of $$$$money to sit., and not be Productive or give jobs to MASS PRODUCE., adding more TOXINS to pollute the air. INFJ artist wonder how many do not LIVE is such CLEAN environment , Clean never been washed clothes., crystal clean skin, hair that looks like just be to s salon , This is how Pod Casts show INFJ's , wealthy , NICE TEATH., with a nice smile., as if NO REAL INFY would live in a place with tossed out furniture ,Blanket window, with plastic over them in Winter. NO stove or Fridge, but a Microwave Rent is at the low end. IF it goes higher, I have enough to put my items into storage, and go HOMELESS. I continue to paint, even though flat board canvas is considered cheep , and the paint I use acrylic paint. Cheep ,probably not worth anything, compared to costly oil paints. on a large sturdy canvas. I have some friends, but i never tell them I live far below the Poverty level. because I would not be worthy of their time for them to talk to me. It is being deceptive , but far better than to hear many talk about how Wasted they got, or got HING on some Really "Great" stuff. or about their job, sports, or Gossip .about others, So why do POD CAST always make people look so great, or is because criminal Profilers like Nancy Grace,( think that is her last name.) paint possible INJ"S as Creepy, weird, Quiet, soft spoken, as a possible psychopath, to stay away from such people. dangerous.? Police are ready to profile such people as not worthy, damaged goods. Words as a child I heard before I even started school, Females have it tougher to get ahead, than men, I can list a number of people, mainly Actors that said they were Dyslexic. The FONZ on Happy Days is one. The founder of IKEA " is dyslexic, Think women are bigger to Peg hole someone. So How do I get out of this world being a Dyslexic INFJ? Who paints ,and sketches wildlife ?

As an infj, it felt really hard to watch a video that explain us from a very rational and cold point of view. I didnt feel connected to the teachings even though they seem valuable, because there was no heart involved. INFJs aren't empathetic, they're sympathetic. It's a common and dangerous misconception.
Empathy is shown in how much compassion [Fe] and understanding [+Ne] we can give to another. Sympathy is more of a feeling of pity [Ni] for another [+Fe]. Empathy is our ability to understand [Ne] how someone [e] feels [F], while sympathy is our [i] relief [Ni] in not having the same problems. -Google

Empathy is based around Ne (Facets) + Fe (Equality), while Sympathy is based around Se (Resources) + Fe (Equality). That's why Model-G Beta/Templar type usually end up being hypocritical, and both Soul temple types end up being manipulative.
