- We have to admit, when we first saw the new ARRMA Granite Voltage Electric 1/10 Ready To Run Monster Truck, we were pretty interested to see what it would do. It has all the markings of being an excellent entry-level monster truck. What makes this stand out from others is that for $140 it comes completely ready to run (with the exception of 4 AA batteries for the radio) and it is powered by Li-Ion batteries that are supplied along with a charger. It uses 18650 Li-Ion batteries which is new for Hobby Grade RC’s. What is really cool is you can buy more, up to four more, to install in the truck to increase run times. You can also use standard 7.2V NiMh and 7.4V LiPo packs. The truck has cool design, plush suspension and it’s styling is pretty awesome on top of it all! But does it perform? That’s what this video is about, we show you this MT on the dirt, grass, pavement and even running through water! Is the action ready ARRMA Granite Voltage MT for you? This review should help you decide!

Picked mine up on amazon, $100 and it came with a NimH 1800 7.2 volt. I am getting about 15 mins hard time on it, and 20+ when I use my lipos 😀😀😀 I love it !!!
Man I just came across your channel the other day and I'm thankful I did. I'm 34, and I grew up on RC. I haven't had one in a while though. My 7 year old son has showed interest in it, so I've been hunting around for trucks, doing my research. I'm shocked at how much has changed over the years, mainly how far along battery powered RC has come. Nitro used to be all the rage back in the day, and it just wasn't something my dad and I were trying to get in to at that time. I ordered myself an Arrma Big Rock 3s yesterday. I figured my son and I could mess around with it until I seen how brutally fast it is, so I did a little more research and ordered this Granite for him today, as I think its wayyyyyyy more manageable for a kid. I appreciate these real in depth reviews, man. You single handedly helped me make an educated decision on what to buy, and I thank you for that.
Thomas Terbanc the Latrax Teton is great for kids. 1/18 scale is a great size for them. It has 4wd, waterproof and controls great! They’ve drove the crap out of it and it still runs like a champ
I have been in and out of the hobby for 25+ years and I cant' wait to pick one up myself. It just looks super fun.
Yup, 30+ years in the hobby here and it was great to just go out and play with something simple that delivered lots of fun.
nice music.. kinda sounds like Arma advertising that truck. Your great though
Love my voltage, got the same one.. didn't get the batteries in video, got the second battery shown, works great bought a second battery for extra fun!pm.out!
I just realized you guys are at RCMadness, my local track. Cool
Love my senton,by arms.also, lots of fun stuff!pm.
Nice, I am gonna get one once they are back in stock :)!!!!
Thanks for the great review. Just purchased one for $84.99.
"Santa" is leaving a pair of them for me and my grandson to play around with.. :-) Tower Hobbies.. %84.99.. then another $85 for lipo batteries and a charger.. LOL
That was a Black Friday deal 2019.
I needed a good TWD truck in my arsenal, this truck arrived yesterday. I haven't driven it yet but after seeing your vid I'm sure I made a good choice. Subbed your channel. looking forward to more from you. Thanks
Thanks for the video, I saw this truck on a popular hobby website earlier this year and wasn't sure about it being that it's at such a low price and the 18650 batteries that it comes with. It looks really cool and performs well like you said. I'm going to add it into consideration for a new truck for myself. Thanks and awesome video as always :)
Thanks for watching md3631! The truck has been a lot of fun to run around in the backyard.
Are the batteries standard 18650s? That is a pretty neat way to do electric cars for beginners. You can pull those cells out of all sorts of junk lying around. And the fact that you can run with 2 or up to 6 is kind of fun too. Upgrade: snap more batteries into it. Big upgrade: get a 5,000 mah LiPo.
Nice review!
Your review on the Voltage is my thoughts on the Big Rock
100 in tower hubby's awesome start point
What was the batteries times once tested. ......
2 batteries run time =
4 batteries run time =
6 batteries run time=
Fat block batteries run times=
Thank you.
Or speed
Yea. That was most important to me and he left out his actual battery tests. Only the test with the 2 stock which I could have guessed was 9 or less. 😞
Wowwww so nice RC I love it!
Hello! Thanks for the input! why is 2wd granite cheap? How about the quality of the electronics, how durable are the stock gears, esc and servo? What is the maximum speed that we can obtain with brushed and lipo?

Mine came with batteries for the transmitter too!
i have been in the hobby for 3 years is this good for me probably
Awesome video
You never talked about the run time with all 6 batteries. Did you time it?
Would you recommend this truck as a replacement for a 2WD Traxxas Slash? If not then which RC would you recommend in this price range which is as good as Slash 2WD?
Hi there! Thanks for the input! this tension is capable of lifting 21 or 22 mph ... with a lipo and a brushed 2s ... without damaging the differentials? crown or pinion? Are there any metal upgrades for this truck? I think anyone can put a brushless system ... the problem is if the truck could hold 21 or 22 mph ... without running out the differential, gears or crown pinion in the first few runs?
You left out if the extra batteries got you almost 30 minutes. You also left out the actual speed difference with the 2 other batteries, especially the 2s lipo... Any info on that?
Redcat ou arrma?
Based on your unboxing and review I got one. So far my only gripe is body is so flimsy. If anyone had trouble picking it up, the body buckles. It needs side braces off chassis much like a Slash. Anyone sell something like that?
How has this held up thinking about gettting two seems they now come with Nikad batteries
Did you have to do anything to the diff gears? Are they plastic?
I have a question is a hosim better or this arma voltage
Greg and Dean, great video! Do you guys ever demo Redcat machines?
does this run on 18650 vape/Flashlight batteries?
Hi I'm looking to get into the hobby with my young sons. Would you recommend getting the Voltage Truck for $140 or the Hosim 9125 (aka Xinlehong 9125) for around $80?
I just bought the 9125. Im very happy with it. Made a video about it on my channel. Just driving arond. Im not a reviwer of any kind
I have both. Get the voltage, better quality and bigger than the 9125
@@RJsparkk totally agree. the Hosim/xinlehong/san he/jjrc/any other brnads? are nice, my boys love them, they are hard to find parts for though (specifically the 1/16th or are they 1/14 G171-g174). great cars, but they can break, we have been using broken cars for parts. six, then five... where down to three
Can you run any 18650 or do you need arrma one's?
Can i run a 7.4v on this
how long does it take to charge those battery's you get with it
With a good 50$ charger like 4 hours they are the same batteries that people who vape use they suck ass I used to vape and I have tons of those batteries from every company and they suck I don't know why they are making these run off then it's a joke just buy a regular lipo for 35$ and save money and go way way way way faster and drive longer and they charge in about 45min.
whats the difference between this and reg granite besides the batteries.
Isn't the regular Granite brushless and also 3s capable? This is a budget, beginner's model. Hell, I could be wrong. I've only become kinda familiarized with all this over the last week.
how good is the mega version??
Did he say 5 to 9 minutes
Yeah..u can have alot of fun with 5 min. of run time
Does it reach the claimed speed of 25mph?
No car reaches the claimed speed on the box it's stupid I don't know why they put that on boxes when they always do at least 5mph slower than it says, my slash said 30+mph on the box and maybe did 25 maybe when it was stock.
It will do 19mph stock.
@@stpbasss3773 my car does 2mph more haha
It will if your going Downhill with a strong wind behind it haha ;-)
What is the speed of this car?
De Waterratten look at the right top corner of the box.
25+
@@wthigo77 doesn't mean shit of you believe everything you read then you're an idiot
@@stpbasss3773 no reason for you to be a ass I was just pointing out what the box says. Idiot
@@wthigo77 he didn't have to be an ass, but you didn't either. "Loom at the right top corner of the box," is a smartass comment in itself. Also a useless one considering how often they fall way short.
It can do 19mph max stock tested.
WHEN USING DIFFERENT OR ADDING MORE BATTERIES DOES IT GIVE IT MORE POWER?
Dan Havorka that seems to be the story. How could it not.......
Dan Havorka - more runtime
It increases the capacity, not the voltage.
It only drives longer not faster.
To be honest I'm pretty disappointed with this truck. Diff Outdrive broken after not even 10 runs, Spur Gear broken after 2 more runs, now it's already broken again, probably diff & idler gear set this time. And that's from just driving it on pavement and grass with no crashes. This might hold if you drive it with the two included batteries but if you really put in a 2s lipo it's way too fragile. Drive train is all plastic gears and it just can't handle the power.
What lipo batterys do you use?
The ones that say lipo lmao you got a long way to go if you're asking that hahaha
@@stpbasss3773 there are a million different brands, as well as types, of LiPo batts - why be a dingbat ya nitwit?
@@JK-xp7vm sometimes my jokes look dickish lol I wasn't trying to be mean. I should have said on a truck like this go with a 2s lipo like 3000 to 5000mah.
What rc truck would you recommend me that is around 60 dollars for using it as an fpv truck?
It looks a bit slow for 25+mph, even looks slower than my 1/16 slash (stock but the venom 1600MAH pack.) I'm pretty sure it's just me, but does anyone find that true here too??
I've been in the hobby for around 6 months. havent broken a single part yet, other than seized bearings and the shorted batter pack. yay.
Thats because this truck only does 19 max
Why would AARMA name a car granite voltage when there’s already a car called granite very confusing
If each of those batteries are 1500 mah then you have 3000 mah why does it only go 25
its just a 2s lipo. MAh is millamp hour, voltage would 8.0 although you can charge a Li-ion to Lipo voltage if they are high quality.
its not waterproof XD
