The Mega 4x4 Granite was my true first RC car. Since then, I've been hooked on the hobby like an addict!

@@Boogie_the_cat The Mega v1 - 3 were all 4x4. They started doing 4x2 when they introduced their BOOST line.
The Granite is really a great first basher. I have one and am very happy with it. Pretty durable and cheap replacements. But, there are downsides: The servo is crap. You must get a sturdy one as a replacement soon. The stock servos have 23T (black, V3). So to replace it with a most common cheap 25T high torque servo, you must also get a 25T servo saver (red, V1 and V2), or go with a different servo arm.
Diffs and input gears strip pretty easy, but are cheap to replace. Be sure to check the mesh of pinion and spur gear. They are often not set right from factory and can strip as well, if not attended to. Lastly I exchanged all link balls (composite) for aluminum ones. The composite ones "sand" down in notime and you have slop in your links.
Other than that, a very good little basher.
I bought one from a auction for like $130 because someone returned it because it doesn’t come with a battery. I also have a maxx that I love as well as a slash
I love mine! Bought it used DIRT CHEAP, added Typhon arms and tie rods and widened it. Changed a few other things as well. By far my favorite RC in my collection.

My overall favorite basher of the 3s lineup from Arrma. The bigger tires and shorter wheelbase make it easy to do backflips and even frontflips.
This is one of the few cars owned by Kevin which gain the speed they are advertised with. 😂😂

Man I love your channel Kevin. I have an Aarma Sent on 3S BLX I saved for weeks to get it and love it. My son watches all yours videos over and over and over and he's trying to do anything he can to save up for an Outkast. You inspired my son to get into a great hobby and I wanted to say thank you. I hope he is able to get his truck soon. I am disabled and cannot do it for him like I want to but its people like you that inspire a generation to continue a great hobby! Keep on truckin can't wait to see the next video!

I’m impressed with the 3s Arrma line up. I’m a huge fan of plastic chassis RC’s because they just seem more durable overall. I can’t wait for Arrma to update the 4s line up. That took some punishment before the shock end came off. 👊👊👍👍

I got granite because of you kev. I love it its my first rc. I bend already the motor mount but its easy repair i love it. Fast and durable. Easy to maintain.

my wife has the Vorteks my daughter has the Granite, they share a lot of the same parts and chassis is the same so durability should be similar. i do have to say the Vorteks rips pretty good

Same, im loving my brushed granite mega so far. Takes a beating and doesn't complain. Love the design and engineering that went into. Night and day compared to a redcat volcano that I started with.
Kev!! So glad to see you reviewing the Granite V3 3S I got mine last fall and it’s been a warrior! It doesn’t seem to matter what you throw at it it’s always back for more. Also found it so nice to finally get a truck that can do the speed it says on the box, without having to change gearing. It’s been a joy, Arrma got this one right!

I'm happy with my outcast 4s. Great little truck. I still have a soft spot for my almost 10 year old slash 4x4's. One is a monster slash with the proline monster truck tires and body mount upgrade. Those big tires on a slash just make it jump and land so plush. Plus it eats up taller grass. And gives more control in the air with the heavier tires. Great combo. But as a first truck. The 3s granite that can hit 50mph out of the box is a no brainer. Same construction as my 4s outcast. Just buy some aftermarket A arms, cuz u going to break those, and proceed to bash away. I've had a blast with my outcast 4s. I run it on 3s batteries because it's just overkill on 4s for what I do. I find it is much easier to control and just as much fun on 3s. Plus I will break it less often and spend less time wrenching and more time having fun.

This is what I got for my 1st RC about a month ago and I loved it. The servo bit the dust pretty quick and now either the pinion gear or the diff stripped out... I didn't bash nearly as hard as you did in this video so I might have gotten a dud. Nonetheless time to upgrade it!
we just bought this for our 13 yr old daughter last weekend and absolutely love it, she has only his like 6 trees full bore and still going strong
The reason this doesn’t have many views is because when you search “Arrma Granite” it doesn’t show up. You should put something like ‘Arrma Granite 3S BLX V3’ somewhere in the description, Kev. This is a great vid and has good potential (Also, buy the new Vorteks).
Totally agree. I didn’t find kev’s channel until recently because a lot of his titles don’t specifically state the cars he’s using. I probably would have found him a lot earlier if they all included something like what you gave an example of

I've had my Granite 3s since last September. Great little basher and the body is beat up but no broken parts.
Same, all ive done to my granite is losen the slipper clutch which is fixed and got the hot racing aluminum pivot ball joints.
Arrma tough baby! I've got the Big Rock and Vorteks, both take a beating and ask for more. Had a couple minor diff issues with my Big Rock but no broken parts on either after loads of use.

What’s even more impressive Arrma is rumored to be making a 1/5 scale Granite. I will definitely be buying it to keep to bash with my Xmaxx
The Granite was my first real hobby grade RC truck and I still have it. It was the most basic brushed version which is the Mega. I've taken the stock brushed 550 motor out and installed a 2600kv motor from a kraton 4s and a hobbywing max10 4s esc. I replaced the motor mount and all the plastic gears with metal and also replaced the stock slipper with one from a kraton 4s. I had to add a wheelie bar like the 3s version because this thing is FAST! When I posted in the Arrma forums that I was converting my Granite to 4s just to see how fast it could go and what it could do I got trashed and made fun of. You can't do it they said. It'll break in 5 seconds they said... Well it's been converted for over a year now and I haven't broken anything but a rear hub after someone's trash fishing line got caught up in it and caused the plastic to heat up and deform. Anyway, The Granite is truly an epic RC truck for the price!
Thats how forums are. Go on there with an idea and a lot of jerks will try to roast you. Especially on automotive forums. And you know the people being mean on the forums are weak small people.

Yup, two of my shock shafts pulled out like that. The motor mount bends badly too. I had to put the M2C motor mount on mine to do big jumps. Also the stock plastic spur gear stripped (replaced with the metal 4s spur gear from Arrma). Control arms break, so I replaced them with RPM arms. Still a very durable little basher.

Kev once again you've made a great video and as always it was fun watching it. And since you mentioned, it how about trying any other companies such as the Absima - Torch 6s or the Assassin 6s. Yet another good idea is to finally try them Team Corally rc's. I personally propose these 2 brands 1st cause we should have other alternatives apart from Arrma, Traxxas and Losi ( and the BG specials ) and also cause I want to see if the those European companies are any good . In this respect I won't have to wait for an eternity and a day for Arrma spares !!! :)
My buddy has this and I'm gonna get it. It is tough as nails and is awesome. We've driven many different rc vehicles and this one is for sure maybe the best budget one.
I prefer the projects, like the 100 mph off road, the 200 mph on-road, etc. Would love to see more of the Raminator and 5ive-T as well. Particularly the Raminator as a scale version of your real MT!

Love my granite! Mine is the green as well. If you bash it any further ditch the arrma esc and the motor. I put a hobbywing max10 sct in mine and it's so much more reliable now.

Just a reshell trx4. Its getting boring ngl with all of those reshells they keep doing.
I absolutely love the arrma 3s line, but I do upgrade the shocks on all of them out of the box because of exactly what happened at the end lol. I got sick of having to jam the shock rods back into the ends when they pulled out. My favorite is my truggified Typhon 3s, its a beast!!

Kevin, you WILL need a metal spur gear the way you bash! I went through 4, but no issues once I bought the steel one.
Have a granite 4x4 brushed. Ordered a brushless system Hopefully will have it installed this week
I have an Aftershock that I love to bits, I can supposedly run 8s on mine but it hauls with 6!

I recently bought a very used and very worn and very beat up Granite. I'm currently working on fixing it up and make it run nice and smoothly again, really looking forward to drive it properly and see what it's made of. Knowing myself I'll probably end up running some ridiculous 4s setup in it or something and make it go kablammo.
I can't decided whether to do the Senton or the Granit, could you do a comparison possibly?
This was my first truck when getting back into the hobby after 20 years. I got the Granite 4x4 and it was garbage breaking on every run. The diffs and shafts break after a few minutes. Went to Traxxas and never looked back.
Rc companies are struggling to make the cars Kevin-proof.
Granite 4x4 Brushless is the perfect beginner imo. Has a bit of everything! Insane power honestly, gets to its top speed instantly! You wanna be able to steer and control this thing as much as possible and with the slt3 you definitely can. Love love love this car.

Kev, great vid, sold me on my 1st rc in many moons. Mostly told to get companion dog due to health issue, but told them I would walk the rc way before I walked a dog. Anyways, bought it, just arrived today and I am going crazy because it is not RTR, it has a blinking red light on ECS. Thinking it is a bind issue, but I have no idea how to resolve this issue and hoped you had a video, but nothing found and other channels said bind in the title but never bind anything similar to the BLX 100 that comes with the granite. Read the manual, but some of us need a visual. Any help would be appreciated??? Again, thanks and great channel!

I would like to see a review of the bezgar 7 r/c truck. And maybe a before and after with upgrades. Also for a video idea, put some titanium skid plates on the bottom of a chassis and see if you could throw some sparks on a grind rail at a skate park. Have a long run up and try to ride the whole length of the rail
Yeah, I have bigrock which is basicly the same car and I love it. Duraable, fast and fun. A thing even Kevin can't break without trying very hard and sweatting.

Agreed Kev, my stampede was my favourite monster truck basher until I bought the granite, I love my arrma granite 4x4 3s blx V2, good price, durable and quick, the stx2 radio gear is crap though so that definitely needs replacing as most people know buy now, I broke a front arm the other weak but that’s about it so far.. oh another thing the arrma battery straps are rubbish too really weak, I’ve smashed up a £65 battery because of those lol, but I did a simple battery strap replacement mod, you can that that video on my channel if your interested..
What are the "must have" upgrade parts for the Granite? I want the bendy parts to stay bendy but the breaky parts to get reinforced before it shortens the outing and makes the trip a bummer. A big thanks from the States Kev!

I got one of these for my son and he loves it! (So Do I!) And it's perfect that you can put it to 50% throttle as well, kinda like training wheels!
Now he's giving it the Talbot treatment on 100% anyways! 😃
