In Neo Turf Masters, you can pick one of six available golfers and compete on a number of golf courses around the world, including Japan (Fujiyama Oriental Golf Club), America (Grand Canyon Golf Course), Australia (Blue Lagoon Golf Course), and Germany (Baden Golf Course). The game features two modes of play: Stroke Play, in which the player attempts to get the best score by playing all 18 holes, and Match Play, in which two players compete to see who can win more of the 18 holes.
This run by mamuuuut (tasvideos.org/...) plays the toughest course (Australia) and aims to get the lowest (best) final score while showing off unusual or unexpected paths.

Imagine talking some of these shots over with your caddy. "I'm gonna aim wide left, then hit a fade and the ball is gonna skip off the water, come backwards at a 60° angle, and I'll be on the fairway looking at an eagle."

I like how great this games presentation is. It's like they're trying to distract you from the fact this is golf.

@@MalleusSemperVictor actually, that has absolutely nothing to do with why the animation is _smooth_ -- that would be because there are many sprites comprising the animation

Yeah all they did was take a video file of an actual guy doing the swing then put filters on it. It looks a bit uncanny valley for me.
Not only that, but they also added smear frames to the golf club
@@jforce321 it’s called rotoscoping. They actually animated the sprites over the skeleton of a person doing the motions. Art of fighting 3 did this as well with lots of its animations.
The masterpiece of NAZKA who made this game is Metal Slug That's why dot animation has a good reputation

Both The Boss and Big Boss made this game... I can't believe they took time outside of war to do this.
The dude has some fabulous hair and a fabulous beard.
The way that golf swing was animated is so satisfying.
I just wish somebody would try all the courses on the hardest difficulty, if possible.
(Level 1 or Level 8, I can't tell which is really NeoGeo hard...)

I remember when I was playing this with my brother when I was a kid, in a short map I just did a perfect shot, the ball went direct to the hole, not bounce and with a little bit of air
Pffft. Still not as good as the game Kim Jong Il played in person.
I heard he hole-in-one 17 of 18 hole. And about the last hole he didn’t hole-in-one, well I heard he did the unimaginable and score the impossible “Phoenix,” or double triple Eagle. Yup, that means on the 18th hole that is usually a Par 5 he got a -5 stroke. He didn’t even swing and they found the golf ball already in the hole. That’s incredible!
I would love to see Hot Shots Golf 1 and 2 end this way.
