(At the time of the game's release, someone had already managed a throw past 100 meters!) For everyone who wonders why the athletes are a couple of "Marios," it's because that was a standard way to make sprites with limited pixels back then. The mustache shows where the characters mouth and nose are, and the sideburns show where his ears are supposed to be. The more detailed sprites in Track and Field 2 are faceless because there aren't enough pixels in the face to create facial features.
never got past the clay shooting and the archery part back when we played this. and never got those bonus scores for the other games. we always get the javelin throw one.

I was like 12. at first i used a thimble but the fastest was when i used those black film containers with a grey lid that youd get with your developed film. i could max out the speed with it. i could do skeet shooting perfectly. archery id be surprised if there wasnt a few times i got 600 everytime. I just played it obsessively. Like punchout, zelda, super mario. One game i never finished was metroid. i dont think i owned but played enough to get deep in the game. And it got increasingly difficult. More so than any other game i remember playing during that time.
