Imagine trying to convince someone in 1987 that this scene shows a fight between the future governors of Minnesota and California
Nanomachines Son!!!
I was a minute and a half in when this thought crossed my mind.
I was about to comment about the cheesy soundtrack but your comment is way better.
This is so funny and so true
It would be even funnier than Marty McFly trying to convince 1955 Doc that Ronald Reagan becomes President.
The ending correctly predicted what AI now a days is capable of.
kind off, we would all be suspicious of how AI does it though, it struggles with hands still.
@@dorianleakey The fully generated images (like Midjourney) have this problem. This is just switching a face with an extra (that's killed for real by Captain Freedom lol) and AI pretty much already perfected it. There's a video of Biden reading the Vaporeon copypasta on a podium, which is as hilarious as it's scary.
RIP those two interns killed in the production.

Can you imagine how upset those people would be, who placed bets on Arnold's character to win 100-1, when they find out he's alive and that footage was fake?!
And they threw their ticket in the fire....
Too late; they paid for those tickets and then threw them away. No-one gets paid but the house.
@@stevetheduck1425 The house gets destroyed in the movie when they find out
That "$200 on Richards!" dude got cheated out of $20,000. That's a lot of money. It's like 3,333 Cokes at ICS headquarters.
I think the bet was that Richards would make _the next kill,_ but it was one of the hunters, so those people lost again. Maybe if they bet he would survive like last year's winners (losers).
I really like the part where Arnold says
"YYYEAAAAAWAHAAAAAA"

It still amazes me this movie predicted deep fakes.
Or inspired it. Many technologies we have now was originally inspired by SciFi books, movies and TV-shows. It wasn't predicting the creation of these things, but rather inspired the creation of them.

Richard Dawson plays a convincing bad guy in this movie, didn't he???
I saw a video on here that claimed that he wasn't acting quite as much as you might think.
Interestingly enough, he wasn’t the number 1 answer in a survey of a 100 people.

I think one of the best things about this movie was how Captain Freedom clearly walked away from the whole scenario and refused to fight Ben Richards after Richards had attacked the TV Station. Killian told told him to get lost and he literally did, which ended up saving his life. I would love to see a Running Man 2 where Captain Freedom is stuck Running.. Though Jessie is a little too old for that now.
ps.. María Conchita Alonso was so cute in this.. Now she's got plastic surgery face.. She should've stayed all naturally beautiful. I hope the new lady's in Hollywood see how destructive plastic surgery really is to true beauty.

1:42 Captain Freedom is happy 😄
The first Cgi fight scene in history
I’m kinda glad Captain Freedom didn’t bite it. He was kinda nice compared to Killian, and the other Stalkers.
He was a Nobel Demon, a killer, but one who had at lest had some sence of honour.
As brutal as the Running Man was, Captain Freedom was from a time when the show was at least fairer and had some integrity, giving the runners a chance to win. Freedom sees how badly the show has been corrupted since he was a stalker.
We began to live this now with generative AI.
I miss these types of movies. Far fetched out there. Every single one of them original. Not like the movies post 2000s
Nah, there was great stuff up until about 2010-2012. Its typically 2014 on that you get all these formulaic style movies because everything was slowly going woke and nothing can risk being offensive which is why everything is so bland and dull these days. It went from art, to theme park attraction.
@@cmendr011 This “going woke” nonsense is so whiny and boring. Movies are more graphic, more profane and more controversial than ever.
The “back in my day” bullshit always seems to leave out how both Cheney and Gore tried to effectively ban violent games, music and movies 35 years ago.

What
An incredible moment in sports!
I just realized that when Damon's assistant whines, "You didn't have to kill him," she's not talking about killing Richards fictionally, but rather that the digital double was in fact killed by Captain Freedom to provide the footage to digitally replace his face with Richards'.
I thought they said they were using old Captain Freedom footage from the past and just overlaying Richard onto it? Been a long time since I watched this though.
@@TheRogueSquid Your right. Captain Freedom refused to face Arnold with all the gear. He had honor and walked out so they were forced to use past footage
They were using old footage of Freedom defeating/killing a previous contestant. Captain Freedom never participated for Killian in the movie.
Freedom was scared of Richards...but that is an interesting point that was said, i never caught that
@@sfcd4757 No, that wasn't it. He just refused to go in looking like a tech nerd that would just get him killed against Richards and he knew that. He also knew they pumped Richards full of steroids and stuff to make him run harder. They didn't expect him to fight back like he did.

I figured it out years later it wasn't a totally digital movie. Damn, it makes Killian an even worse person.
I believe Jesse/Captain Freedom's image was also a double, since he quit?
@@EuMesmoVII Yes, it's meant to be cuts of footage from some of Freedom's old fights being imitated by someone else, where Richards and Amber were also edited in over stunt doubles. Killian had the stunt doubles killed in real life in the same way as the runners in the original footage, so it would look realistic and authentic.

Now it's amazing that this movie shows that type of Technology being used to enhance the same thing that the news media today like CNN and MSNBC they do that same technology today to basically brainwash us .

It's not will...the tech has been here for a few years now.
DAMN that Killian!!
OMFG!
I tought i only dreamed of the existance of this!
Something that always confused me.
Okay, so these are other people with Richards and Amber's faces CGI'd over them. Is Freedom killing two innocents and okay with it because he got to use his bare hands? Is this older footage of past contestants that never got used? Are they faking Captain Freedom as well? (Maybe with Sven?). I suspect I devoted more thought to this than the writers.
I'm pretty sure all 3 are faked, Freedom's ego wouldn't have wanted to simply kill a no body... He wanted that real fight with Richards. He had a sense of twisted honor "code of the gladiators" as he put it.
The same questions i was thinking
1:25 always bugged me that this part of the fight scene, Jesse headbutts Arnold and suddenly they've teleported back to the middle of the arena.
Dammit...that Killian!!
En el futuro o ahora mismo ya veremos este tipo de trucos digitales
The boys were in Predator, and she was in Predator 2, right?
Yep.
She was the one that Predator spared
That was the train scene if I remember. The predator cuts through all the passengers because they're armed, but spares her because she is pregnant.
Damn that killian
Imagine if the guy Captain Freedom killed was Richards' missing brother, George.
imagine if you had a cawk
Edward.
It was Edward Richards. No one knows what happened to him. But maybe he could've been one of the contestants in the show that died. My money is on either Subzero, Buzzsaw, Dynamo, Fireball or Captain Freedom. Oh, that's all of stalkers. 😂
Brother George is the security guard. You know, the one who walks away at the end to "score some steroids".
That last line is youtube's new slogan.
2:07
Me: You STILL don't get it, do you?!?!?!?!
Do you remember earlier in the film they mentioned a murderer killed his family with a knife at Thanksgiving but Killian didn't want to to use him because he was only small like a hundred pounds, what if he was the guy that capt freedom killed with amber's deepfake on him..
Also it really fascinates me as to the captain freedom fight, did he fight two prisoners made to look like amber and Richards or was it entirely old footage of people he killed from previouse shows. I like to think he killed them in the movie before it went live and they then put Richards and amber's faces on the stunt doubles
