Marida was good too. But what gave Eric an edge is that he is brave to go out of his comfort zone. Marida cooked dishes that were just within her comfort zone.

@@moon-ox7rieven the judges say it was very difficult and some master chef can’t cook pork belly in one hour alone and also he has to make other components of his dish also

He was definitely a little cocky at the beginning of the show but then had some failures that humbled him
Character devolpment right there. He was pretty annoying in the first few episodes because he's kinda cocky. Good thing he became more likeable later on.

It's editing. They cut to a reaction to make the negative comment look more dramatic. With these reality shows we actually don't know whether he actually made that face at that exact time. Besides, Alvin is also biased but towards Eric so it balances out.

I agree here with Chef Michael. The amount of fish for a main entree is disappointing. If I was served that portion and paid so much for it, I would be a bit disappointed as well.
Eric deserved it he always took risks he was good enough to do simple but was he good enough to do risky ? he surely was. marida can’t just win playing soft
Marida also stayed in her comfort zone making Trinidadian food, whereas Eric always challenged himself and staying out of his comfort zone

Yes. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have earned their places in the finale. In this episode, it was imperative that they stuck to one theme so their dishes are cohesive.
Literally the round before this, Eric made a Thai curry dish which won him a spot in the finals
There was a pasta dish Eric made that was quite praised if I remember correctly. He was also spot on with steaks.
Eric made a lot of different things on the show.

The reason why so many comments about Eric keep emerging is because Eric fanboys are as equally as insecure as he is. You can write whatever you want. I challenge Masterchef Canada on the count that Eric does not deserved to be the winner. He was the winner not because of his cooking skills but because of something else.!
