Ah, one of those groovy 70s classics! Not sure if you've done any of these yet, but: "Fallin' In Love" (Hamilton, Joe Frank & Reynolds), "Laughter In The Rain" (Neil Sedaka), "I'm Not In Love" (10cc), "Miracles" (Jefferson Starship), "The Way I Want To Touch You" (Captain & Tenille), "Lovin' You" (Minnie Riperton). It's possible you've done them all, because they were big soft rock hits in '75.
Ace! Don't apologize for the truth. Today's music is manipulated by technology. No PURE vocals or raw talent left. All the talent of R & R, R& B, Funk and yes the dreaded Disco! Was devolved in the 50's,60's, especially the 70's, 80's was about the end of the magic of natural talent. NOT ALL, but MOST.
Hi Ace, Great reaction to Orleans and your second of their songs. I loved them back in the day. The 70’s my main time. I’m a Carpenters/Elton John/Billy Joel/Linda Ronstadt/Olivia guy. Then the New Wave hit towards the end of the decade. My favorite era of music but the 60’s and 80’s were great too. The current stuff not so much. As you inferred, with electronics anyone can “sing.” I asked Dwight to tell you about me. I’d like to introduce you to an artist that I did with him, also. She’s a 21 year old singer who mostly sings the songs before she was born. From The Beatles, Carpenters, Olivia, Joni and herself of course. I have a couple of recent examples I’d like you to experience to see what you think. I hope Dwight didn’t say too much. You said you wanted good music, will you accept great? 😊 The first song is a Carpenters cover. I saw you reacted to this so I like familiarity. The song is; Close To You. It is a collaboration of Tori Holub (Hah Luhb) and James Wilkas with a group of musicians from the US and Australia. I see you as a filter over the video. This is an independent project and I have numerous reactions out there and none have needed to mask the video. Actually either of what I’m offering. Ask Dwight if he had any issues. He ran it open. It will really help with the visuals. Close To You (Cover): ua-cam.com/video/ytncWacUKJE/v-deo.htmlsi=-QhqzA2R_BcXt9DP The second song is one I didn’t find in your history but did find the artist. The song is Suddenly, from the 1980 movie Xanadu. It’s originally sung by Cliff Richard & Olivia Newton-John. May I suggest checking out the original before seeing the cover. It’s always best to know the original first to appreciate what they accomplished with the cover. This is Tori in collaboration with Dan Wesley. A UK based producer/singer/writer/musician. This song, for those of us following her introduced two new things for us. The first long form video covering Olivia and playing an instrument. She’s done both in many a Short Videos. Oh did I say, Tori never uses pitch correction. You will hear Tori and Jim and Dan as they are. Suddenly: ua-cam.com/video/XrKi9pbpDAI/v-deo.htmlsi=N_peIGKJ30HS4StB Thank you for your consideration and I’m off to PP to help support the channel. I hope you enjoy these. I have no preference for the order you play them as they are different, each is amazing in its own right. In my opinion, of course. I’m waiting to see what you think. 😃 Joe
Thank you for not picking a bunch of disgusting metal songs! EVERY other reaction website is saturated with that infestation. You pick very listenable songs! They may not be some of my favorites but they are all very listenable! Keep up your superb choices.
The next Orleans song should be Still the One
One of my favorite songs, great reaction.
This came out the year I graduated from High School. Still a great feel good song.
He's playing a Melodica, usually you hold it in your hands and blow into a mouthpiece, but he has a tube attached.
