I was a teenager when this came out. I used to dance with with my daughters when they were very young to this song. It was the father and bride dance when my oldest daughter got married.
John Hall, a former congressman, was their guitarist. His solo project, The John Hall Band, had a great song called "Crazy (Keep on Falling in Love)". It has is one of my favorite bridges of all time. Check it out. You'll be glad you did, and as an added bonus, the early 80s video cliches run rampant through it.

You blow into the tube, and when you press one of the keys, it opens up a hole that lets the air blow over that key's reed as it escapes, which makes the sound. A good friend of mine growing up had a family member in this band. My friend died when he was just a teen. So i always think of him when i hear this awesome song... memories.
My brother would play this for me when I was a kid. He was 17 years older than me and had this record. I would knock on his door and he would sit me up in his bed and give me his contraband of hidden Snyder pretzels from the tin he hid in his room. I was 4-5 years old. We would listen to music together for hours. He passed away suddenly in 2014. I miss him terribly. But whenever I hear this song it makes me think of him and smile. 😊. Thank you.

This song is one I tend to hear on the radio even today, usually while on the road after midnight in the boonies watching the signs and old billboards whip by as the Moon casts its eerie glow on the fields.

I worked in the music industry and met Larry Hoppen at rehearsals. Afterwards he walks out and gives me a cd. It’s a JFK tribute cd along with a letter . So sweet. I am a collector, never opened it. We lost everything to Katrina. I found 2 cds. This one and another one that meant a lot to me. He left us way too soon. Talented and kind man.

Saw Orleans open for Jackson Browne in 75 or 76. They were great. Next up “ Stiil the One”, their biggest hit.

Orleans made up the heart of a touring Supergroup called Rock and Pop Masters, saw them in Madison, WI. back in 2007/08 it was a great time.
