After all these years, still my favourite Intervals song
Still
Same
I really like this song, but I'm also glad he went back to 6 strings, I feel like his unique style really bloomed from that moment on !
feel like it depends on where you stand on how heavy you like your metal
@@captainsoarineagle Yeap I think this heavier style suits way better
I love how Aaron's tone is so heavy and saturated yet so defined.
bareknuckle pickups dude
jedivolt and an axe fx II
1:12 I wish more bands had sick melodic riffs like that
I know right? i dig that groove so much!
omnium gatherum, the new dynamic
allxtar music Absolutely love the band Omnium Gatherum, i'm so happy you mentioned them here. Absolutely love the songs Ego, New World Shadows,The New Dynamic, Living In Me, aswell as Everfields and a few others I can't remember now
I have yet to listen to their older albums but I can't wait for them to release a new one in 2015 or 2016
let's hope it's 2015, cause I'm dying to hear it. Beyond is a masterpiece
Djentlee Funny how taste works, that part, and the part just before is basically what ruins the song for me :) awesome innovative original riffing, and then they just slap on a generic, done a 1000 times before, melodic part.
This has to be my favourite Intervals song of all time.
This statement still hold true to you today? Just curious man
@@btta_wzrd6699still holds true for me loo
3:22-4:29 is like drugs to my ears, can't stop replaying this part
Honestly some of the best phrasing IMO.
Thanks mate for mention that part 👍
Dude, exact same
Same still
That main lead melody sounds like a vocal melody.. I love it!
Such an amazing song! It's heavy, punchy, a little groovy, has tension, and then the chorus riff just soars! Definitely one of my favorites and has been for about a year now.
This guy is so chilled he's doing it in his slippers.
Intervals, you inspire us to be better musicians, so thank you from Newcomer!
I love how at 2:43 you can completely feel the power and intensity of his playing.
This is the best "Djent" that is out there imo. Wonderful harmonies. Good Shit.
Please listen to Gru お願い🤲
This is somehow cathartic. It's just amazing to see him play!
Unironically song of the decade.
0:00-5:00 was definitely the best part!!!
+NEKrone yeah lol
I was giddy with anticipation at -0:01.
the ability to tell a story riff by riff without any word...thanks
Still one of the best songs (especially the solo) I've heard.
Thank you.
Definitely one of my favorites. Such a jam
those solos are some of the nicest things to have ever grace my ears.
your tone is so midrangy, crispy, articulate, not much gain, exactly what I'm using. cheers!!
8 years later,....still holds WEIGHT bigggg time. props !
Pêche. The whole EP is still their best release imho!
You can tell this is true because I saw him live just this past year and he played this one. So obviously even Aaron knows how well this tune holds up
Noah F and it sounded NASTY
@@dalianmoya nastier than coronavirus baybee 🤧😷
This guitar tone is absolutely massive
the exchange at 2:35 is just amazing. and the opening sequence is an awesome key.
This is just perfectly beautiful.
Aaron is definitely in my top 5 favorite guitarists. For life! Awesome video/play-through.
One of the best intervals solos ever
One of the most tasteful djent bands out there.
All of this was amazing, but for some reason I really enjoy the part at about 2:00
i love those heavy riffs with so gentle to hear...... total beauty
One of the most tasteful bands out there ;)
Great song! It's fun to watch that low string vibrating all crazy like that when you hit the open notes.
Yeah this is my favorite intervals song. Makes me want to see what's going on in Toronto to make such brilliant music.
this has to be one of favourite tunes of all time, arron just keep em coming. cheers
For those who dont know the words "Mata Hari" from the title, it means "The Sun" from Indonesian Language.
This song is just perfect
Absolute Genius !!!
Deserves to be at the very top, this Good Ol' Scarberian.
one of my absolute favorites from this band/guy/group...idfk
oh Lawd! That sick riff in the end. Recapitulated/modulated themes with a virtuoso blues twist. Wicked good clarity.
His technique is so perfect and smooth he makes it look super easy.
Absolutely incredible!
I could watch this over and over!
this makes me happy.
By far the most beautiful song I've heard in 2012..
how are these guys not on the front cover of every magazine right now? they are like 9.999 x 10^(-9) under rated as players and musicians as a whole
Yes. Just, all of the yes.
How does this not even have 200,000 plays yet? What the fuck.
Saw these guys live, and it was so awesome, nothing compares!
Man... whatta HEAVY sound you've got! Plus, your melodic approach is marvelous! There's a lot from Killswitch Engage, Meshuggah, Animals as Leaders, Govan, Petrucci in your music! I'm very impressed! Awesome band!
De nada por te apresentar essa delíciiiiiia, cara! Huahhauauaha!
Like with so many bands.. their best stuff is their early stuff. Heavier and more creative IMO
So heavy yet so djentle on the ears.
This album is just amazing!
Mata Hari was a Dutch Dancer/Secret Dancer. According to Dictionary com. If you ever want to look something up if your using Google Chrome for example just type Define: Mata Hari in your URL.
probably the most beautiful tone ever
i love this guy's solos
BRUTIFUL SONG!
God damn, the bluesiness of that last solo is beautiful.
Super nice and smooth melodies. One doesn't always have to shred - except for riffing, which here is totally of the hook!
Mata Hari. It means "Sun". Great song man! Love it.
I wonder what language it is.
Daniel Huang It's Indonesian language.
+Daniel Huang But in Malay language it means "the day."
+Raka Putra Satria cool, thanks.
Raka Putra Satria Well actually "Matahari" means "sun" in Malay too.I gave an information,so no hard feelings mane.
The modulation from g# in f minor rules (solo) nice!
Beautiful.
Yes!
Axe FX II - the only thing capable of making such an immaculate tone.
Beautifully-Brilliant !!! Checked an album called "The Shape of Color" on Bandcamp and then had to come here to learn more about Aaron Marshall...and his band.
Fantastic work all of you!
That solo tone...
this is so, so, so good
This is absurd!! Simply amazing...
If you guys are ever in Minnesota, I'll be there.
Duuuuude its beans all grown uppp!!!
Those rifs, are so cool to ear!
Seeing these guys in Fredericton NB tonight! So pumped!
So sick. Love it.
In time on loop!!!!!!!!!
been following for years and spreading the talent to my buddies...made respect to you and your band! Great great talent!
the whole section at 3:23 is amazing
Damn, it's so awesome to watch the consistency of a good guitarist.
amazing performance. can't wait to hear what you're gonna follow up the shape of colour with.
Talent.
Okay. Just so you know, you're a genius. Every melody I hear from you I think, "damn, this is the best riff I've ever heard." Please make music until the day you die, I promise I will listen to it. I LOVE INTERVALS!!

He has such great technique.
Major intervals with metal = win
So great!
PERFECT!!!!
Mad dope !!!!
Ohh im so happy to see u in real live in nh7 weekender meghalaya 😍😍😍😍🥰🥰🥰
So much expression, wish i had that infinite wisdom.
Awesome stuff
Actually, the drummer is Indian and as someone of Indian descent I've heard that phrase before. It means something along the lines of "Mother be revered".
Mata = Mother. Hari = revere.
Awesome! I really love your guys' music, just purchased your new album today. Thanks for an awesome album!
I could loop that 5 note phrase at 4:13 for a year... not that it hasn't been in my head since I heard it the first time!
Wow. This is nice and groovy
Such a jazzy solo @ 1:00 so in love
