I see the majority of metal guitarists these days using them almost exclusively for dive bombs, and not enough in very lyrical soloing.
Antivorg Polyphia is very good at using them properly and also in a unique way too. Jason Richardson also showcased how well he can use it on his guest solo in Aviator.

I literally was about to quit guitar because I thought it was too difficult to understand until I started watching Angel's videos of the amazing music you could make with a guitar it's so worth understanding I just had to start back playing thank you Angel:)

I never understood prog as in coming up with ideas... but then I stumbled across PLINI. He is god for me now. Electric Sunrise forever changed my understanding of odd time signatures being exploited melodically.
If anything, I feel like he's so good that you'd want to quit out of frustration.

@Brian Herren I started when I was 13 self taught and stopped when I had my 1st real relationship at 21 and also hit a wall on motivation . Long story short love makes you do stupid things. Now at 31 I'm getting that itch to play again thanks to Angel. I'll take your advice tho!

This song is beyond incredible. It feels as though it is written from very personal depths. The begining makes me think he's been hurt and basically trying to find some semblance of happiness but it remains somber. As the song progresses it makes me feel as though he is slowly but surely on the path of recovery. Truly beautiful.
I don't know why anyone would thumbs down this video. This performance is tender, painful, meaningful, glorious and as heartfelt as it could possibly! The dynamics are insane an the technical playing is ad smooth as velvet. I'm CERTAIN this is the language of soul inside the body of the player. If you can't connect with this song somehow, I'd question your ability to feel empathy.

I heard about Angel a few years back and liked his stuff. He reminds me of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai but with a more modern flare. He certainly studied the masters to come up with his style.

He could have simply been referring to the amp/pedal settings aspect of it. Maybe not as specifically as you would like because English might not even be his first language. You just wanted to use it as an opportunity to feel superior and make a remark on someone you didn't even bother to clearly understand in the first place.

So I had a really hard day today. Battling with my inner demons. Arguing with some friends. Feeling really broken down. I needed something to help get me through. Sonic therapy as it were. I’ve had this song and video saved for a bit and it hit just the right notes inside. Just the right blend of hope and melancholy to get my barriers to break down so I could have a good cry in the dark. It helped get the depression and frustration out. Thank you Angel!
