That Montgolfier Brothers song is one of the most achingly beautiful songs I have ever heard

A beautiful remake of the original version with David's touch and Romani's angelic voice.

Romany's expression of the lyrics through her vulnerable voice is perfect for this song. It has been stuck in my brain's ear worm since I first heard it days ago. I hope she gives us more.

I am a man with 64 years on my body and i cry every time i hear that angelical voice of Romany Glimour but not only the voice is the music and the words that makes me cry.
I think is the new song in my BOX of GOLDEN TREASURE SONGS.
The Blame on you it is in your side if you let them abuse of you and that happens very often when you are young and unexperienced.

I am a big David Gilmour fan. I like the title track "Luck and Strange" because he's playing with Richard Wright. This cover is amazing with the solo and Romany's voice. Scattered however, is the one I like best on this album. Great reaction!

David Gilmour has been an influence on many artists over the years including TheWarning.Ive never seen them in concert LIVE but have seen the cover band Wish You Were 3 or 4 times very close to the sound of the actual band.A Genuis in the music business for sure. Yes agree I like the version with his daughter better too,she is on other songs on his latest released lp and it also looks like Romany is an actress.OK now that you mention it yes I get the Dido vibe too.I loved her collab with Em on Stan. Yes on more Pink Floyd for sure.

I wonder if my husband has heard of that cover band. 🤔 We saw one called Brit Floyd and for me not knowing much of Pink Floyd's work, it was still a really good show. All of them were very talented. And yeah, that song with Eminem & Dido was great! I haven't thought about her for a long time until this song. 😅

@@nikkireviews [edited] There are a handful of songs by The Warning that are quieter but still have impact - some of the lyrics might hit the spot. If you feel inclined, here are some links:

His wife is a novelist. But, after meeting David Gilmour she started writing lyrics for his songs. Romany has videos on UA-cam where she is singing in a pub.

I did not know this was a cover. It's probably my favorite song on his new album, but that's not a knock on his songwriting. I just think this was a brilliant execution, and Romany's voice is gorgeous. I hadn't heard the original before, and I didn't hate it, but obviously the cover is much better. Great guitar solo too.

Ok, I will admit off the bat that I haven't heard the original until just now... I had a feeling that I wouldn't like the original. I have been a massive fan of Pink Floyd and David Gilmour ever since I played the Pink Floyd album "The Division Bell" 30 years ago. Ok, well David's version featuring his daughter Romany Gilmour on vocal... is by far my favorite song from this year so far. I said I don't like the original, but it's not song... so much as the execution of the performance. But also, the the end guitar solo is sublime to me.

Its sad young people today just want songs to be happy, fast and quick ( over 3 min is just to long for the smartphones).
Patience, depth and art are lacking today.

I have to say, dissing Pink Floyd because occasionally they use unconventional sounds for a tiny fraction of their tracks, is very irrational. That said, Romany is incredibly talented and looks very much like a young David. Here is David speaking about how Romany was given a sheet, heard the song once and knocked out this performance in essentially one take:
ua-cam.com/video/hCQcKUtg9kc/v-deo.html ( David Gilmour - Between Two Points (Explainer) )
And here is a lovely photo album of Romany growing up, set to one of David's tunes, and you can see how incredibly similar she looks compared to the young David:
ua-cam.com/video/T_gQ_D5yhAE/v-deo.html ( David Gilmour and Romany Gilmour - Kokineli )
Can you imagine having David Gilmour as your dad and music teacher? They did a series of "home movies" with family, wine and song during covid lockdowns and she shines there too:

I've listened to this song a number of times now, it's kind of stuck in my head. Sad but deep and reflective.
This was a nice gift from father to daughter to place this cover on his album. Romany has a really nice voice. My understanding is she just learned to play the harp during covid lockdown.
