Funny how all the greats know just when it’s time to pull a Fender Telecaster out and go to work. David’s playing comes from deep in his soul. It always leaves me in a better place. ✨
I know right? One of my favourites too and one of two Gilmour solo's that made me cry a bit (Marooned as well) I play a bit of the solo about two and a half minutes into this video: ua-cam.com/video/sLp-APsXRsE/v-deo.htmlsi=aCbyCLhv8fL-0UdE
As fantastic as this version is, I feel the version from Remember That Night (which is up on youtube) is his best FOS solo. You should check that one out, and hopefully post your reaction like you did this one. The other one has more feeling, imo.
Hey, i'm the guy in the video. Thanks for the tip! I'll post a reaction shortly, but first i gotta focus on a few concerts this week. (Where i'm also playing Time)
O M G Just watched it. It hit that place in me, which music does sometimes, that is almost overwhelmingly emotional. By the end I was in tears. I've loved that song since I discovered PF in late 71/early 72. Thanks for the tip!
Heard the division bell for the first time yesterday and i loved every track (Marooned sent me to another dimension). I'll listen to it shortly, but this week i'm packed with concerts. Thanks for the tip!!!
Shredding is just players saying hey look at me aren't I cool? David expresses himself with class and style. Shredding is just a worn out style and boring to listen to. I was a roadie and guitar tech and every gig had some shredder band that sounded like every other band doing the same thing.
Lo Zio David è assolutamente il più grande chitarrista di sempre sul lato emotivo ......ogni suo assolo ti arriva direttamente al cuore e all anima e ti fa scendere le lacrime . DAVID GILMOUR FOREVER ❤❤❤❤ DAVID GILMOUR THE BEST❤❤❤❤

The most emotive guitarist alive!
You can always tell the truly great guitar players, they just never seem to put a single note, bend or vibrato in the wrong place.
Perfectly said
One his most underated solos.!!
Love the reaction on the guys face, truly impressed 😘
One of my favorite solos of all time
Yes, it's great, and it's probably his best when compared to the original, studio version.

Yeah, like Prince with his While My Guitar Gently Weeps performance and Gary GOAT Moore on his legendary Blues Alive tour
@ Exactly! Nice catch. 👈😎
“Wow (x2)”
That about sums it up.
Yup...David has that Telecaster tone dialed in nicely. He puts his focus on distortion followed by clean high notes. So sweet!
Nice reaction!
Probably his best live versione ever ! God bless him 🙏❤️🙌🏻
love the smile... i have exactly the same reaction with a good solo.
Listen to THE BLUE on the same album
I saw David do it twice. Radio City Music Hall in 06 and at MSG in 2016. Beautiful!
You are very lucky!!!
I was at both of those shows as well and MSG 2024. Incredible!!
@@robertbarnaba241 you are very lucky too!!!
ooh, that tone!!!!!!!
Love this solo! As I little to it here, I'm really picking up on the bass as well!
È semplicemente un mostro dal tenero cuore
Great!
His a living legend🎉🎉🎉
Check out ‘In any Tongue’ from the same Pompeii concert - another epic guitar solo 😊

David is the best, and a great human being 😅
Spotify - Pink Floyd / Compilations / 1971 Reverber/ation 15:32 minute version goes well too

Fat Old Sun a classic since God created the world.

@cwctube It's on another level, eh?! That solo is in David's top 5 of all time, imo.
@@maxdegraaf1333 Looking forward to it!!
❤❤❤
The Telecaster is his second guitar of choice.
after that it's the Les Paul
I kinda hope you haven't seen this: ua-cam.com/video/Ax-ptO_tVeY/v-deo.html
On this version of Coming Back to Life, Gilmour blows everyone away!

Agreed, he uses it in the right way here
So true …
Gilmour, Beck, Page, May, SRV, Hendrix, RR, BB, Marr, Knopfler … so many more … all shred-free zones 👍

Guitarist reaction? Hardly any words, so disappointing. However Gilmour remains the master of true guitarists .....of all time!
The facial expression says enough
No shredding there. He's too tasteful for shredding
ehhh
Fat Old Sun? That sounds like a Weird Al parody of black hole sun. Lol
😂😂😂This song is like 20 years older though
@@way2biggofficial611Yeah, Weird Al couldn't exactly do a parity of Black Hole Sun without some confusion.
Mr. Double goosebumps, play on darlin, damnnn your thee best!👏👏👏👏👏👏🫶🫶🫶🙏🌹💜👍✊💕
Yep, that about sums up the video! With a hint of I NEED TO LEARN THIS!!!!🤘🏽🤜🏽
