Thank you Greg for teaching gel application. I know this was 5 months ago but you have been so helpful. In nail school we we’re only allowed to do fiberglass, sculpture and acrylic with tips. I think I posted before we also could not use a drill 20+ years ago which is now called an e-file. You are my favorite! Love you!
Always grateful for learn from you such a great experience love to work with gel is so smooth and looks so fancy it is so fancy and luxury shines it blows my mind thanks 😊
I am LOVING learning how to work in gel!!! Thank you for making it all make sense for me!! The time yall take to bring us the tips, tricks and knowledge is amazing!! I APPRECIATE you all!!! YN.. A-1 from Day 1!! 💖💅❤️
Thanks so much I’m almost a licensed tech 1 month to go and I’m done. I’m pretty excited I’ve always loved Gel over acrylic and this will be my New Technique thanks a bunch this is a Big help🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
OMG the tip about building the perimeter by pushing the product in the center to create the well is crazy Awesome! I am going to practice that technique tonight. My biggest issue is tough to practice because I use a practice hand and it doesn't have body heat. I notice when I do a set with Synergy Gel, it is a race to glob it on because my clients body heat makes it begin to almost melt. I don't know how to handle natural body heat 🤷🏾♀️
I would seriously DIE if I had you do my nails while teaching me all the tricks 😍😍😍😍😍 I've been doing m own nails for 3 years now and I still have trouble. These videos really, help
I learned nails seven years ago in cosmetology school. Im wanting to learn in detail now to add to my salon. I don’t even know what supplies I need to get started. I only want to do gel
I love this! This is so helpful. I just ordered a nail drill today. I’ve been filing hard gel by hand! I figured learn the hard way to appreciate the machines better. Like in wood shop. Like learning to walk before you learn to run.
So I received my pro gel kit and as I'm starting to try to copy what Greg is doing, I realize how still my brush is. Without thinking about it, I "broke the crunch" off of it... Idk how else to describe it. I made the bristles much more flexible and now I'm thinking I wasn't supposed to do that.do I have to get another brush or how to I make the bristles stiff again if they're supposed to be like that for gel application. I feel like it's difficult to work with the gel now that bristles are so relaxed and flowy. 😶
Can you sandwich your gel paints or gel polish in between layers of hard gel? I’m about to attempt it tonight when I change my set. I have an idea of creating depth using size, color, and layers.
I have someone who I struggle to put forms on because her natural nail arch is so high, I can't figure out how to do the forms properly on her because always end up with such a deep gap from form to the underside of her natural nail. Please help
😅I’m not expert ok but I have high nail arches on my ring and pinky fingers. I tend to round out the arch of my nail forms as I put them on. Maybe that’ll work for this client like it works for me.
@@shellsnailss7193…ok. Um… when you put the nail form on, contour it to her nail arch as you anchor it to her finger. It’s might look a bit unstable but if you tighten the form against the tip of her finger it’ll be fine. The gap between her nail and the form is because the form is flatter than her arch when you anchor it. At least that’s been my personal experience.
@@rainbeauxunicorn5237 even doing this because of her skin and the eyes of her cornerwall nail, its not fitting. I've tried cutting and everything. When I bend it more it still does not work.
I’m 7 mo late but I was just curious, aside from bubbles, can we apply by brushing on like the slip layer to build? When I build my apex it’s not too big but it’s still too much and heats up. Asking for my lazy days 🤣 it could also be my super flat super square brush making applications harder as well
When using a true hard gel, you do not use any kind of slip solution. You can move the product by floating your brush over the surface of the gel. If you are getting an excess of heat, you can always use the low heat mode on our UV/LED lamp or keep the hand just outside of the lamp for 20-30 seconds to slow the curing. You can also apply your product in layers rather than all at once to minimize heat spikes.
Hi! Thank you so much for all your videos! This technique of building a well then filling it in is different then a lot of your other gel videos. (It’s very helpful to see) Will this take a little longer to complete a full set?
I've watched this a couple of times now and really love this color, I'm a dark color person, but love this Aqua Marine 101. I searched for it but can't find it. Is this a coming new color, an old retired color or was it a one and done kinda thing?
Thank you so much for this great instructional video! I’ve just started doing builder over my natural nail. With your products, can you build with the gel base or, do you have to build with the peach/pink? I’d love to be able to build with just clear. Thanks!
What is the difference between an acrylic nail brush and a gel nail brush? Can I use an acrylic brush on gel sculpting? Most gel brushes I can find are flat tip square.
Acrylic brushes are made with a natural haired bristle and are usually a little larger to be able to pick up the acrylic beads. Gel brushes can be either a natural or synthetic bristle and are generally smaller. We don't recommend interchanging your brushes for several reasons. First, you don't want to mix your liquid & powder with your gel, so it's important to have a brush for acrylic & one for gel. Also, with acrylic, you need to rinse your brush in monomer to clean it out but with gel, you want to leave a little gel in the brush to keep its shape & keep it conditioned. Some gel brushes have more of a square tip, but with our Gel Sculptor, it will come up a point and our Finesse Pro Gel sculptor will be more oval but can be rolled to a point.
There are many factors that go into that. How long the set is, full set or fill, repairs, designs, etc. We have a great Real Time playlist available: ua-cam.com/play/PLbrhuNO154v0p9T9BWpV7V-USnMwIFmqN.html
You don't have to use clear sculptor to build the free edge. You can use clear sculptor, concealer pink or concealer peach. You want to use one of our synergy gels that doesn't self level quickly.
Question 🙋🏻♀️ My nail tech always puts my acrylics on and then cuts the cuticle. Then it ends up looking grown out in just a few days 😒 Do nail techs do this as a safety thing? Or just to get us back in the salon faster?
Pushing back the cuticle and clipping hangnails is part of regular maintenance when doing a fill. However, if the tech is removing too much or breaking the skin open, this is not a safe practice. You can always ask your technician to not clip the cuticles,

It's possible, but we always say work on technique first and speed will come.
This is great. What bit are you using to shape it and what speed? (You should provide links to make it easier to buy!)
It's our coarse safety bit. We work around 11,000-16,000 rpms depending on what speed you are comfortable working at.
That heat reactions from the gel is no joke! 😭😭lol

This is a safety bit coarse.

Why don’t you all pinch after the 10 sec mark??? Are we not suppose to do that with gel anymore??
You can still pinch gel to get your c-curve, but you can also customize your form so that you already have a good c-curve.
Polygel???
Unfortunately, we can't speak on poly gel as we do not use it.
