    Suzie! You should do a "nails through the decades" series. It would involve recreating nail styles from the past to the present (maybe 1920s-2020s)! I'd especially love to see your take on the '80s, which you know so well ;)

    YES, coffin is my favorite! One thing that’s been on my mind lately are the trending coffin nails on IG - they look to be rather flat (as in minimal to no c-curve), yet have a very distinct, crisp shape. If I had to guess, they are probably achieved with tips. I personally prefer mine to look like yours, but clients often find it hard to resist the Instagram shaping.

    Omg thank you so much! I've sifted through countless UA-cam videos on how to get this coffin shape just right and I still was struggling! but when you explained the Muffin top example and I watched you work your nail file, it really clicked me and I feel like I will finally be able to successfully achieve the ballerina shape as opposed to even the coffin I know how similar they both are but I still see there just a slight variation and I've always struggled to achieve my fave of the those two, the ballerina shape!:) so just want to say thank you so much!! your videos are always super informative and it's really great content keep it up!!

    Hi Suzie!! I do my own nails & have been wanting to try the Coffin but….. the end of a few of my fingers turn inward towards my middle finger. I have a nerve disease that messes with my nail growth so it’s actually the whole nail that turns but looks like it’s the finger tips. (Making a simple square can be difficult at times & still look wonky even though it’s "straight") Do you have any handy dandy tips regarding this when trying a coffin shape?? Follow my finger in making the shape & not necessarily the nail growth direction? Or do you think trying to get them all to look symmetrical may not be worth the hassle? Thanks a ton for all you do!! ❤️

      I wish techs at the nail salon would draw on my nails when I want something other than a usual square! I wouldn't mind since it would provide a visual guide for the tech and me when it comes to how I want my nails shaped but it's probably seen as unprofessional/amateurish. The trouble is my coffin nails never come out looking the way I want them and I have to end up filing them myself to fix them, which I shouldn't have to do after paying for a pro to do them.

    • @91frankthetank
      @91frankthetank 2 роки тому +3

      @@DarlingNikki2 you should tell your nail tech. If it's a good shop, they're very open to you getting exactly what you want. Bring picture references. After they shape one, take a look and ask for what you want. You're paying good money. You should get what you want.

      @@marielanders1218 I hear the term used interchangeably, however I often wonder why the term coffin is used far more.
      As Suzie stated, coffin seems to reference more length of the shape but length being the identifying shape.
      So I wonder if ballerina may reference length, as not long of length?
      IDK, I just don't like the term coffin and do actually prefer the term ballerina.
      Almond vs. Stiletto...they look the same to me other than length. 🤷‍♀️

    I've only had one nail tech that can actually do my nails the way I like them. The only thing is she's in Texas and I'm in WA State (until my pregnancy is over). The amount of time she spent on each individual nail was insane! I got acrylic nails a little shorter than yours or maybe the same length? The appt took over 2 hours. But she went in and hand filed each nail ♡ I was seriously obsessed and couldn't stop looking at them from every angle. Boy once you experience that level of service it's SO disappointing going to the nail salons here in WA 😪 they ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS file WAY too much off the sides. And they're always crooked 😒 so I have to go home and fix it. I can't wait to use the hybrid gel ♡

    Hi Suzie I know this video is not recent I hope you can still answer my question,on the very first nail you started filing were you filing underneath the sides and than worked your way up to the sides? That's what it appeared like to me but I just want to be certain about it.. Love your videos as always 💅💜

    Your voice is so pleasant and this was so helpful! I've been buying these medium length sqaure press ons bc they're really cheap and strong and I think this will really modernize their look!!
