Been to Lost Dutchman and "roamed" the area up past Canyon Lake.. Its a really great area to relax and enjoy the freedom.. Freedom being my favorite part of RV lifestyle. Thanks RWR
Our pleasure! We used to be able to drive thru Tortilla Flat to Apache Lake. It was like the movie The Long Long Trailer. For a few years now the road thru Tortilla Flat been damaged.
The Handle Bar in Apache Junction is a great restaurant/bar. They have the most unexpected menu. Food is so good. They specialize in beer and wine and have live music. Great atmosphere!
Lived in Apache Junction for years. I miss it. Goldfield has the best hamburgers. We would go out there just for lunch. They have the steakhouse and the other is a walk up order and eat at picnic tables with the best view in the state.
Actually, we do have booties for areas where there are really rough trails. But mostly, he needs them for hot surfaces. The fabric ones stay on, but we can't seem to get the rugged ones to stay on. He does love wearing them though. 🙂
So, I don’t fit into your square. I spend the winters ( October to April ) in the Southern Bahamas and the summer in Northern Idaho where my son lives. I am a retired pilot and own my own plane. I can fly nonstop in 16 hours with autopilot and onboard head/restroom.
This was such a great video !!! We are looking for a winter RV destination. This was exactly what we were looking for. Great information on the area, beauty, hikes.....great job. Thank you so much. I am wanting to try and get a travel nurse position. So we will be working. We are from Western KY, and have never been out that direction. It is hard to know where to go ---- we do not care for big cities. Any further suggestions, we are all ears. I wonder if we have waited too late. It is Sept 2024. We would like to leave out in a couple of weeks. Is it impossible to find some place to stay if you do not have reservations months ahead of time?
I can tell you that the rates continue to climb as AZs population grows. However, it is still in the 100s thru October. Your career means being where the people are and the East Valley fills with retirees every winter. Meaning a need for increases in Medical staffing. Best of luck!
We’ve been to Tortilla Flats and taken the boat tour close to there (the second one in this video). Is there any BLM land in this area? Enjoying your content! Thanks!

We've been there too. Our fruend's band plays there often. It looks like a dive bar, but very high quality menu. 🙂

Great video! Have you ever had problems with Dexter's paws & the cactus? I see he doesn't wear booties. My dog hates boots.

Yes plenty of BLM in the area.😊
Yes. There is BLM land along the trail. We saw only a few RVs here and there on Forest roads. But we don't know the details.
Are you local Arizonians?
We were for 26 years.
Thanks for watching!
Background music is killing the details. Beautiful scenery.
Thanks for watching!
