I played enough stalker to know this game will be unplayable at release xD( Hope not) as long we do not get a clear sky 2 I am happy
OG fan here. Still have the cardboard boxs for SoC, CS, and CoP. I have been waiting for this game for YEARS. I followed Survaium, the game the team worked on after STALKER. But that never became the spiritual successor it was supposed to be. I thought STALKER 2 would never happen. And now we are so close. My old ass can not wait.
It must have been really hard to continue this project with everything that has been going on...kudos to the developpers!
I hope the game will get the recognition it deserves

I am pre-ordered & I am excited for it. Despite the setbacks and the leak, I actually think everything about it looks quite good. I have had lots of fun games like Tarkov, Metro, or Chernobylite to tie me over, but to have the OG STALKER return is going to be amazing.
StalkerZ, DayZ search for it, it's literally pure stalker, it doesn't even look like dayz, the fact that it's dayz just allows players to be stalkers in the zone and band together
Btw, the map is the zone from Stalker, 100% original with mutants, anomalys and ALL that shit

@@UnixSolstice Unfortunately yes. People often compare the franchise to Metro and Into the Radius instead of the other way around. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is pretty much the grandfather of those games yet it goes unrecognized and downplayed all the time.

In call of Pripyat you could talk to fellow stalkers and if they were not doing anything at the time, you could pay them to take you to another part of the map.
Along with the guides to travel to another map entirely.
I'd imagine it could work a similar way in this game, seeing as i don't imagine that the developers would want you to just pump from place to place and miss out on the world as it moves along.
In terms of fast travel, most of the standalone stalker mods nowadays have "guides", where they will lead you in some nearby places for a fee. good way to cut going through lengthy roads if you can spare some coins
I mean, not even just mods, that's something brought in from Call of Pripyat. Not just for going between areas, but some groups will let you tag along to a certain area.
Absolutely hype for this game. Been too long now since I was mauled by pigs or blown up by Monolith

The "Scavengers, Trespassers..." meaning of acronym is fan made. And it makes no sense in relation to how the acronym is used in the game itself. Stalkers and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. agents are two different things.
It's not even fan-made, it was made up by their publisher THQ to give reason to the acronym's existence ("to avoid copyright" doesn't sound the best). The devs had some ideas for what the acronym could mean (at least in the russian variant) but as far as I know, none of them are canon as they never left the pages of the dev docs.

I'm very excited for Stalker 2, I'll miss the Eastern European accents when they talked English though, there was something charming about it.
don't even have a pc to run it but i'm still excited to see some streams i grew up playing it.
Im ok with fast travel as long as the game doesn't expect you to use it. I've played a lot of games with fast travel that I've never used.

I hope it can live up to it's hype.
If there's a silver lining to be seen in the vast series of misfortunes that has befallen GSC, it is hopefully that they will take every ounce of their hardships and channel it into the soul of the game and thus create a true work of art. Even if it may be infused with a helping of slavjank we all have come to cherish.

Since its UE5 we can even play this in vr!
There will not be many mods for Stalker 2. And there will be NO mods like Anomaly or Call of Chernobyl, ever. UE5 is not even 10% as good for modding as XRay engine was.

I never played Stalker 1, but I have Metro exodus, so I hope Stalker 2 is like Metro on steroids.
4A Games - developers of the Metro series of games, who left GSC after the release of Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl. These Metro games are similar to Stalker, and not the other way around)
Metro Exodus is like STALKER-lite (in terms of linearity and exploration).

@@ALiberalVeteran Not comparable at all. The Stalker games are open world sandbox games with realistic shooting mechanics and survival elements. Metro is a linear, on rails fps franchise. I played all of both series. I enjoy them both but for different reasons. They are totally different genres.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. doesn't actually mean anything in the universe of the games, other than a title to those who enter the Zone. The acronym was just made up by fans.

No the developers of Metro, 4A Games are originally ex-S.T.A.L.K.E.R. developers that left GSC Game World years ago due to problems within the company at the time.

I'm not all that optimistic about this game, if anything this will look more like Metro. If you want STALKER experience with a new graphics, realism and it's atmosphere you should try Anomaly, GAMMA, EFP and other mods that stay true to the spirit.
I'm not hating or anything just really skeptical of that new release.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was never supposed to be realistic. it was made to be immersive.
"stay true to spirit." S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 does infact, stay true to the spirit due to being made by the same studio that made the original trilogy.
anomaly was made for *veteran* S.T.A.L.K.E.R. players, and the storyline too. It isnt too lore friendly either, same with gamma and efp.
I'll admit, the visuals and graphics looks stunning, though i don't necessarily care about graphics. gameplay and creativity, y'know?
also comparing S.T.A.L.K.E.R. to Metro is fair, though ironically enough, the first Metro was developed by some of the developers of Shadow of Chernobyl.

Yah but gamma is a mod, if you played the original trilogy they are nothing like gamma, stalker 2 will be the same as trilogy ones, only modding will bring new gamma of S2 later on

Worth mentioning TRUE STALKER and the guys that developed it. It is fcking AMAZING. It borrows ideas from Stalker 2 and it's so great and optimized. Hands down probably the best mod out there. Even compared to different games. U have better graphics and more fps. Just AMAZING.
I like it but backtracking fetch quests and cringe writing kinda ruin it
@@user-is2mj2ig4v If u mean by the fetch quests the ones to "grind" for rubles, I don't do it. They are the same as they we're in CoP for instance. As text, I don't find any problem. There are still some flaws. For example in Chapter 5 in Agroprom with the scientists, some of the texts are bugged. Other than that it's ok. I'm now at C 7.
True Stalker had potential but it just falls flat. How many times do you get knocked out exactly? 25. It's more of an interactive movie than a videogame. It was very neat to get handed guns left and right, but you know what would have been even more neat? To have actual gunfights, apart from the total of 5 gunbattles you have in the game.
Also the story becomes cringey and lazily written halfway through, not the mention that the ending is utterly unsatisfying. The game basically dangles "epic boss fight coming soon" at your face but it never happens. I would suggest playing only through the 6 chapters and after that to drop the game.
I think that BOTH Sony AND Microsoft NEED to step in and offer their support and help to the developers of Stalker 2. They should offer to supply them with servers for the game if needed for any multiplayer and the like and offer ANY help the developers may need to insure the game's successful launch and NO COST to the developers.

I just hope it adds up to the old parts and doesn't follow this fucking evolution of modern gamedevelopment. It's the last game I even have any hopes left. I don't dare to take the term 'expectations' up the table. After tons of disappointments theres no more room for that.
I don't even know when I've played a (new) game the last time that was worth playing leave alone being actually good.
Faulty trash, unfinished shit and scams you name it... If there wouldn't be some good but old games... I could not remember how a good game would look like and feel to play. Just sad. Nowadays it feels like its all about frkn graphics that cook your device that only look nice if you're using the very best of tech for 2000 bucks and more. But you don't want to look at it - you want to play and enjoy it. But those fance graphics and stuff is just there to deceive about the acctual game and gameplay sucking ass. Being all the same crap. No ideas, no fun and just no heart'n soul only produced to make profit. Back in the days 20-40 bucks on the table random game - nice. No regret. Nowadays paying 50 bucks and more and now look at that game is broken or just horrible. But yeah... customers don't mind - most of em are braindead zombies and than you wonder games become even worse... with all those zombies eating trash and rating it a 5 Star menu anyways.
Just please be an acctual good game S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 ... I beg you... no more lies, no more deceptions. A fun, stable, good game. Worth wearing the name of a great series. Bring a light into this god forsaken darkness.
This will be a new story that does not require going through the first parts, because the result of the first parts will create the world of Stalker 2

After 300+ hours on stalker gamma and some ironman shit i must say i fucked up uptade and had to delete whole gamma 125 gb and now im kinda sad cuz stalker 2 will come in like 1/3 months🤧🥲 and yes i expect stalker 2 to be better than gamma or atleast mod friendly sou ours modders can change the shit out of this new unreal engine 5 game cuz i too expect top tier graphic

Removing the Russian voice acting is a big L from the developers. Haven't people learned yet? Don't bring your real world politics into our entertainment. They are alienating their audience from the francize with crap like that. I hope they make the game mod friendly, because I'm still skeptical if STALKER 2 will be able to compete with mods like STALKER Anomaly GAMMA.
It will still have ukrianian voice acting luckily. The english is jarring.
stalker anomaly will never have a proper open world or AAA cutscenes. Also Stalker 2 will have A-Life 2.0
@@Caes3r_ When you say "proper" open world, then Stalker 2 will absolutely not have that either, because you will eventually run into barriers.
If you are referring to the world map divided into sectors, I don't see that being a problem. The GAMMA modpack actually adds a nice transition for traveling into a new areas.
I couldn't care less for AAA cutscenes in video games. I will watch a movie if I want non-interactive entertainment. Stalker 2 vanilla will probably not be as good as Stalker Anomaly modded. That's all I'm saying.
