@@StegoAqua Sherlock's creator didn't really hate him though. He was tired of writing all the Sherlock books and felt that it was holding him back from writing other stories he wanted. Which is why he tried to kill off Sherlock in the Final Problem, but was forced to retcon it due to the public outcry.
Gaygay does seem like he hates Gojo, but man i get why he killed off gojo. Gojo being present just gives the sorcerors a blank cheque on winning. There would be 0 tension, and everyone would see the ending a mile away.
I dont support the way he killed Gojo, i feel like a chapter should have been there to explain Sukuna's dimensional cut, but even a page or two would have sufficed. Gaygay also fucked up a bit by showing Gojo just winning for most of the fight. The early chapters of the fight were peak, because it was balanced.
Ngl, making them citizens of the same Japan was absolutely evening the playing field. It gave Makima a 1 in 125.7 million chance to kill Gojo via rebound, Literally the only way she could kill him.
That, and I'm fairly certain she couldn't even tell if Gojo actually killed her, since Infinite Void overrides the target's senses with an intense influx of literally every bit of information in the universe. Kinda hard to react to being attacked when literally everything is going through your mind.

Honestly, I’ve really been enjoying what death battle has been putting out recently. There’s more emphasis on the story that would lead the two combatants to fight and how the fight would actually play out in character, and I think that’s way more interesting than numbers, scaling, and feats.
Speaking major facts , even if sometimes death battle isn’t accurate or if they leave things out , at this point im there for the animation , not rlly for who would win , and hell if the character I like wins then that’s a plus I guess

I do agree that it's more about the art than the math at this point, and although I've only seen this one and the Goku vs Superman ones I FAR prefer the 2d art, but I'll give cgi some time to cook maybe they just need more experience.

I actually completely agree with the conclusion of the death battle. Looking at the fact, that Hollow purple nullifies, so if I'm not wrong, basically replaces everything it touches with nothing, so basically creates a vacuum in the place of everything it hits could be sees as something different then what counts as a attack, Gojo is so strong that hollow purple probably nullified every trace of Makimas body before she could heal.

Nothing better than seeing Nux get a little spooked that the guy he is dick riding might loose due to finger guns like he didn't just watch the stat breakdown xD I have no dog in this fight but seeing the moment of Nux having a small tinge fear was worth the watch.
You know, even though Gojo easily slaughters her in a fight. I actually believe Makima could plan and seal gojo far more easily than how he originally got sealed. Makima wouldn't fight gojo, she'd play to out smart him. Idk I still think gojo is better though.

1st - Gojo's limitless isnt an exact copy from the Green Baby from JJBA since the baby's stand made you smaller the closer you got, tecnically its does the same but in different ways.
2nd - The fact that what the show does is let the characters fight till Gojo comes is what makes the movie so great since Yuta is the one to beat Geto instead of having to wait for Gojo, all Gojo did in that fight was send Panda and Inumaki as fuel for Yuta's hatred towards Geto.
Here's the secret for the Death Battle formula: They take two characters with similar themes or powers, and compare them to see who would win. Then they animate a fight. Because the two characters are from different universes with different power scaling, it is usually drastically one-sided. So the fight is decided as soon as you know what their power sets are.
I feel like Makima vs. Sukuna would be a fairer fight. Gojo kind of hard counters Makima except for her finger guns.

the biggest problem with the statement "gojo would probably not even need infinite void, just hollow purple" is that hollow purple on its own isnt going to hit makima as she is twice as fast as gojo's fastest speed and people WAY slower than gojo have dodged hollow purple

It wouldnt even kill her, since the damage ges redirected either way. Also Hollow Pirple is not existence erasure. Infinite Void would also not work, the brain death would just be redirected.

And the damage redirection just transfers the brain death, so it that would hit Gojo too, not his sure-hit itself but the effect it had on Makima.
And also, Makima was already implied to be resistant to infinite information by Quanxi completely thinking she was better off dying than fighting, even while having the Cosmos Fiend that from her knowledge shouldve been able to kill her (she didnt know about the contract, considering Kishibe didnt know).
And Makima also has control over the Cosmos Devil, meaning she could easily have infinite knowlege already/go into a contract with it.
Also, Makima besides her own ability has many devil contracts that can just bypass Infinity due to either spawning in the opponents body or being mental or intangiable attacks.
Also, Makima just outscales and just by that fact it would be very easy to just control him anyways, not to mention even the ethereal chains Nayuta uses can pass trough Infinity cuz they are intangabile and would register under the Six Eyes threat detection.
Its like if Gojo were to be hit with sub-atomic attacks. They would just pass trough as that is beyond what Limitless/Six Eyes manipulate.
Funnily enough, seeing how one of makima's bangs turned someone into an amongus character. One of those would do a lot more than leave a hole on gojo

You seemed confused by Gojo’s math analogy but it’s basically: cursed energy is negative, but Gojo can make it positive, and by combining them it makes 0 (think numbers here, Lapse Blue is -1, Reversal Red is +1. If you add -1+1, you get 0, or hollow purple.)

Btw id like to make a point as to how well gojo is designed character-wise his domain is the only one not connected to who he is but what he is. All the characters
Are somehow related to their domains such as Sukuna is an unrivaled calamity that destroy everything but himself so his domain cuts everything but himself. Hakari is a gambler and anime lover so his domain is an anime casino. Higuruma is a lawyer and takes pride in that fact so his domain is a court trial of only wits no fighting, mahito makes veryone how he want so making them the perfect form he want them to be and his domain lets him have control over anyone in it and is litteraly called "self embodiment of perfection". But gojo is in no way related to his domain exept them both being "the strongest" his technique is manipulating space but his domain is a mental attack, he has no connection to what his domain is besides it being as unbeatable as possible just like him.
Because it's still using an application to infinity, since that's basically what his whole Cursed Technique is based on.

Is funny because if the fight take place in a neutral local with boths the worlds rules, Gojo domain expansion is useles against any character who isn't from JJK verse because they don't have cursed energy but Makima contract won't work either because Gojo is from a diferent Japan, for me Gojo is the strongest but with the rules of this death battle the fight should have finishid in a tied(Denji sliced and cooking Makima body, but is said that the people are dying without stop and they only stopped dying when Denji started eating Makima for the reasons that the video explained) so Gojo will puverized Makima with a purple but he will die because even if Makima dosen't has a body to comeback that dosen't stop her contract with the first ministrer

I think thay specified that Domain Expansion and Hollow Purple specifically doesn't affect Gojo. Their argument is because of that and the fact that Hollow Purple destroys everything to 0, he does have a wincon against Makima while ensuring he bipasses the contract and survives.
Aren't Devils made of negative emotions/ energy? Then his Domain would probably work anyway because that's basically what curse energy Is too.
@@manyharmons4308 devils can get stronger or weaker depending on what exactly a person fears and if a person doesn’t fear the devil then it would become very weak to that pacific person or collective. The only ones that can never be weaken are primal fears.🐱
They already set up rules for the battle to be fair, the power system is equalize and they live in the same Japan. So Makima could get hit with domain expansion because gojo have put normal people in his domain when he was reverse jumping jogo and female groot. And Makima’s contract would work but it wouldn’t continue after she got smushed because she transferred all the damage to one person and not share the damage to many person so the contract would stop working because makima can’t regenerate therefore can’t be damage for the contract to activate or just expire after the last unfortunate person get splattered. Her contract doesn’t kill until she regenerate, it’s transfer the damage she take to another person. That actually pretty interesting, if 0,5s in unlimited void can drop a body and Japan’ population now is 123M+, Makima could actually survive in Gojo’s domain for roughly 2 year and Gojo has too unlimited curse energy that would be torture.
Bang has, in the anime AND manga, been shown to leave marks on the area behind where a target gets hit/have a delay between “cast” and injury/impact, meaning bang does have velocity and can therefore not touch gojo.

@@illumi9044 I feel like people don't understand how Makima's ability works. Contracts are essentially low-level reality warping powers. Makima does not need to heal from anything, as long as a citizen of Japan exists, any fatal damage she takes will be transferred to them. It's not an ability that she activates or needs brain function to utilize, it's simply just how things work as long as the phenomena is classified as "an attack". To bypass it, you need to work around the contract, not around Makima.

i have my doubts that limitless would work against makima, cosmos devil wasnt even considered when making a plan to stop makima, and wouldnt attempt to put her in the void, arent they practically the same thing? flood their minds with overwhelming amounts of information so they cant do anything?
this season of death battle is easily my favorite and it hasn't even ended.
Also it's very very close it actually comes down to who uses the kill move first, Gojo with Hollow Purple and Makima with her internal death attack, Not "Bang" it doesn't actually put a insta mark on someone it is a blast. example it left a mark on the wall after attacking Power. The internal attack does get through infinity because it attacks on the inside and his regen doesn't work because it just blows up his mind. That's how it works
Don't think that gojo can effortlessly cast infinite void and wins the day cause in Manga it's literally stated that IV only works on people with cursed energy so making them exist in the same universe is actually balancing in gojo's favour as well as makima otherwise makima can no sell IV since she doesn't have any cursed energy.

6:46 - the math isn't actually wrong. If you were to multiply negative cursed energy with positive cursed energy, you'd just get negative cursed energy again. 1 * -1. To get 0, you apply -1 and +1 simultaneously. Normally if you add negative cursed energy to negative cursed energy, you just get more negative cursed energy, such as -1 -1 = -2. This is why it's hard to grasp positive cursed energy, because you're not simply adding two masses of negative cursed energy together.
So what Hollow Purple actually is, is applying Red and Blue without letting them properly combine, but instead acting on the same space. Infinite Expansion *and* Infinite Contraction of space. Because spacetime acts like a supercritical fluid at times, this is essentially churning things within that space out of existence. Big Crunch, Big Rip, would just be a void that corrects itself immediately with empty space as if nothing happened. A hollowing out, if you will. In all likelihood, the energy and mass within that space is infinitely isolated off from the rest of reality, since information can't be created or destroyed. Kinda like what happens to things that fall into a blackhole's singularity. It's going somewhere, just not back here.

Normally you're wondering Who the winner could possibly be, and what BS they pull out their arse to warrant why said person wins...in this scenario there was literally no question about it, as soon as you saw his name, you already knew who the winner was gonna be, without a shadow of a doubt.

Where as if Gojo took her for an actual threat to him from the start, she would of literally died AT THE start. Though, I feel like if she just shot him in the face a couple times she'd win, so, idk if the whole healing thing can be ignored by just blowing their brains out.

She's a sadist who gets off on torturing people and lording over them, so the moment she finds a way to hurt Gojo she's going to abuse it. She doesn't know that he even HAS a healing power, let alone how to stop it, so she doesn't understand that she needs to kill Gojo quickly before he has time to recover. Simply put, Makima only had a ghost of a chance to kill Gojo, and she squandered it by being herself.
The reason why they had to be part of the same Japan is because that's the only to have Gojo fight because Gojo technically leads a secret life, and would be seen as just a normal person, and would be inferior NOT as an advantage to Makima, but rather as a way to make it happen to begin with. Makima might see him as just a normal devil hunter, with how most people are able to see that Gojo is powerful, but to Makima, that means he already works for her, and is already under her.
If she could see the future couldn't she see infinite void before it was cast and wouldn't that kinda have the same effect making her freeze sooner

You guys are sleeping on Makima, she can control everyone she thinks is beneath her (which is most people [actually everyone except for Pochita or at the very least almost everyone except Pochita] *and* is almost immortal (has as many lives as there are people in Japan) + can kill people remotely by proxy just like that. I'm fairly certain that that "anyone she feels superior to" condition has the unspoken requirement that she actually understands how powerful a mark is when she sizes them up. She can't look at someone she knows nothing about and immediately control them or else no one, not even Chainsaw Man, would be "beneath" her since she already views herself as the greatest devil in existence. She has to see them in action and either understand that she could definitely beat them, or else dominate them to remove any doubt on her part.
@@TheAngryXenite it SURELY has some kind of limitation, otherwise why wouldn't she just take over Darkness *BUT* at this point in time we've only been told that Makima can take over whoever she thinks is lesser than her. As long as nothing else hasn't been stated then such limitations don't exist.

Although, I disagree with your assumption it must be about physical strength. Makima can take over people as long as she thinks they're lesser than her, in whatever way. Strength is the simplest way to take them over, so Makima used it in her fight but that's not the only thing. And I don't think Makima would think like this of herself, she isn't that arrogant. And she lived in Hell with the most OP Devil as her sister, so at the very least there's one Devil that's not beneath her. But she could control her, if Makima thought "Yeah, sis, you're OP *but* you are much more stupid than me hence I take control over you, lmao". I do agree she must *know* something about her victim before she takes them over, tho.

actually nayuta(reborn makima) who is a little kid, was able to control THE WAR DEVIL into having a dog's mind, AS SOON as she saw them, and she didn't really know they were a devil just they smelt bad, and the war devil was dating her big brother therefore breaking one of nayuta rules.
mind you the war devil can remember things that are conceptually erased from all existence and minds.
I think that making them part of the same japan and letting BANG! Break through limitless is to be as charitable as possible. They want to give as many advantages to makima as possible to show how gojo would win regardless.

There's also other factors like gojo's teleportation and perception via the six eyes, and an argument as to weither gojo would open a domain first. But yeah, that is definitely a possible win-con

I will say they've at least tried to maintain them being in character, and being the control devil comes with a measure of sadism and narcissism, she sees herself as the best and wants to prove her superiority over him before she kills him.

One thing i noticed is gojo figured out that his powers aren't gonna kill her permanently if he doesn't isolate her otherwise she'll basically say no to his limitless and keep coming back that's where his domain expansion came into play... It isolated her from japan and he didn't hold back either unleashing hollow purple to put a stop to her.... That's why it was as close as it was but also that quick.
why should this work? we assume that the gojo infinity domain works, why shouldn't the superiority of makima which works on anyone who is a lower being? Only the chainsaw man was an exception because of the saw devil.
Secondly, you cannot undo the actual death, reversing gojo will not bypass this hex
Third, the devil of darkness is as strong as the accumulated fear of darkness. I think it will win against infinity in the domain clash.
If anything, making them citizens of the same Japan actually skewed the battle even more in Gojo’s favor, because it meant Makima would be aware of who Gojo is, and therefore unable to control him like they mentioned

It more so a invisible bullet. It does have a Mass and Velocity as when she shot Power a Crater was made on the wall behind her.
Also in order for her “Bang” to push back Chainsaw Man wouldn’t that mean that it would have weight to it or a huge velocity to push back anything.

From what ive seen, the bang attack operates similar to a DE as in the attack doesn’t exist until it lands. So there’s still a force that would break the wall behind power and push chainsaw man into space, but the force doesn’t actually happen until it hits

Im like 80% sure Gojo beats Makima, but the way it was depicted by death battle is just confusing and inconsistent. Sure he can survive having his brain stabbed an can regenerate a limb, but if he was pasted the way Power was, reverse curse technique isnt helping with that (Thats only if bang can bypass infinity).
Gojo is immune to his own infinite void, if thats what you meant by incapacitation.

not only that, gojo literally endured an onslaught of sukuna's domain-amped slash attacks from head to toe multiple times while healing on a faster rate. a weaker sukuna's domain leveled a city yet gojo endured a stronger version of it.

@@seanpinette9741 the thing is bang doesnt matter even if its not projectile. gojo already endured an onslaught of shrine's cleave and dismantle which spawns on his body from head to toe (he wasnt even expecting it). one basic dismantle can slice a building in half. thats already more damage than what makima has shown to do with bang yet gojo endured a stronger onslaught of it along with cleave. bang isnt doing anything to gojo even if he gets hit.

Domain expansions are copied 1:1 from Fate’s Reality Marbles.
Not quite. Reality marbles are potentially an inspiration, but they don't work the same. Reality marbles create an entirely new reality separate from the real world. Domains on the other hand use a barrier to cut out a space within the real world and are imbued with the person's technique. Both have benefits that the other lack. Reality marbles are infinite within the inside, and the only way out is to either kill your opponent or wait till they run out of mana. Domains boost the user's power and give them a sure hit attack that cannot miss unless the opponent uses some technique like Simple Domain or Domain Amplification, however, unlike Reality Marbles, the domain is not infinite within, so if your opponent is strong enough, they can break out of it, which is a problem since using Domain Expansion leaves you without your cursed technique for a short time after it is dispelled, which for some sorcerers is essentially a death sentence. Gojo and Sukuna are the exceptions, since they use their own energy to destroy and recreate the part of their brains that are responsible for controlling the Cursed Techniques, however, repeatedly doing so isn't good for the body.
Also, although I also thought of Reality Marbles the first time I saw Domain Expansion, the idea of creating a separate reality isn't exactly hard to come up with. It's too simple of an idea to call it a copycat unless it worked exactly the same.

@ahmadadnan4773 no, their surehit effects cancelled each other at first clash, but since sukuna's domain expands beyond gojo's barrier, hes able to break it from the outside. when gojo's barrier broke, the surehit immediately slashed his neck.
Death battle is complete bullshit, you can't kill Makima without deleting the entire population of japan. Love it when one fighter gets to use all his abilities and Makima only gets to use her most basic ones.

The reason he was able to win is due to infinite void. Domains allow the user to guarantee that their attacks make contact, even by canceling out abilities that would normally do so(which we see it do to Gojo's infinity). So in theory, it should cancel out Makima's ability to deflect the damage onto another person while she's inside the domain.

@@mcmarkmarkson7115 it doesn’t outright ignore abilities, only ones that block/deflect because attacks within the domain are guaranteed to hit, so theoretically it might cancel that ability out if it’s considered to be deflecting damage, which I believe is what Death Battle was going for since he killed her within the Domain.
Also, saying “Gojo lost twice but Makima never had” is a weak argument. Superman has lost plenty of times, but he’d slap Homelander around regardless. These characters aren’t always winning because they’re incapable of losing, it’s because no one in their own universe can beat them. This doesn’t work when talking about characters from different series fighting each other.

Whether or not this would be true is dependent on how that ability works, and I guess I'll find out later tonight or tomorrow.

I think this battle is entirely based on Makima's perception of Gojo, because her powers are based on her own impressions of others, so no matter how powerful Gojo is, he will obey Makima if she thinks he's inferior than her
Makima still had to subdue Reze like Death Battle said. Makima can't just blindly enthrall everyone, she has to get a feel for the other person. Makima also has to know the individual, period, as she cannot control random citizens she's never met, this is a plot point too as she still needs to get names and meet individuals. The specifics is part of the reason she's not omnipotent, and loses in some instances within her own verse.

Yes, he DID have to use Domain Expansion to secure the kill, due to there being a mach 202 speed difference (which is about 154,682 mph, for those curious) between them. So yes, he COULD kill her with Hollow Purple alone, but he would have to hit her with it first. Domain Expansion ensures that that happens.
Actually Makima has contract with the Cosmic devil who has the exact same ability as Gojo's domain so Gojo might lose if he use it.

One of the only things they got wrong is the ending, Hollow Purple doesn't destroy matter, it crushes it. She would still be braindead, but not actually dead, so Gojo probably finds a way to seal her away or use up her lives.

@MrSlayerkid117 One of the characters in the manga, if I remember correctly it was Gojo, says that it just crushes mass/matter. That's why Sukuna and Hanami survived it, because even cursed energy would be useless if it truly did erase all matter.
@randomyoutuber2633 when I checked, it says erases. Sukuna tried to block and ended up moving out of the way. Hanami also moved at the last second. But that's part of why Toji has such a clean wound. I know statements of crushes. Everything in its path also exists, but that's not necessarily saying it actually crushes more, so it beats all before it.

Courage vs Scooby Doo is where it's at, blows this episode of Death Battle out of the Water. Way more fun and evenly matched. Though I find it hilarious that you say they're sucking off Gojo only for you to barely 5 minutes later go on about how Gojo's powers are the coolest and his world is built around him. While not wrong, kind of bad to do that right after what ya said.

It mentions he isn't AWARE of the contract, so the problem is, Gojo didn't KNOW that killing Makima kills other people too. He would've probably just thought she had a healing factor.

I’ve always thought Gojos creation was inspired from Nagito Komaeda from Donganronpa even if it’s just a tad bit… they aren’t 100% similar of course and Nagito has no crazy powers like Gojo but the scenes when Gojo looks like he’s losing his mind it reminds me of Nagito….
