If we're being totally honest, 049 is probably one of the best SCP to interact with as while there is a high chance of death, you can still have a reasonable chance of talking him away from just killing you and using you for research. The fact he's a rather charming person helps as well. I say check up SCPs 999 and 343, both are great people, that, or check out the transdimensional vending machine!
I highly recommend if you continue scp content to do it on The Volgun’s channel. A lot of these quickly made animation vids get some of the information wrong. Volgun really immerses you in the world by setting his vids up like a briefing to scp staff. And for each interview cited he has it all acted out like your listening to a recording of the events. Not having the interviews, or hearing him speak, really changes the depiction of his character. I'd recommend _Where the Dragons went,_ _Infinite Ikea,_ _The tunnel monster_ and _The young girl_ with the Sedition interviews.

You wanna know the worst part of SCP-049, he's not trying to kill all diseases... He's trying to kill one specific one, "The Pestilence" or "The Great Dying". He never elaborates enough on what it actually is, as if it should be obvious what it is, leading to the pestilence becoming one of the biggest mysteries in the SCP Foundation Is it a pre-existing disease were already aware of? Is it a collection of symptoms from multiple diseases that 049 misinterpreted as being all part of the same disease? Is it a disease that we've yet to identify with all of us already being infected, and 049 is the only one aware of it? Is it all in his head? Is it something like mental illness, aggression, free will, or death? Is it another anomaly that's been subtly infecting our minds? Or is it something else entirely? There is no way of knowing.
I'm like 90% sure the pestilence 049 is talking about is The Entity from Scp 5000 it's a memetic parasite that's attached to humanity's collective consciousness and feeds off of and is the cause of all pain and fear and when we die our souls are taken by it and tortured by it for all eternity
I also sometimes like to think that he just is deluding himself into believing that there’s a virus and deep down he knows that he’s just using that as an excuse but as we all know there’s no way to know for sure what truly is going on with “the pestilence”.
There's more entries and lore than from this video, and some possibilities I thought of from that included the other parties' fear-of-death, because when talking to 49, one doctor was about to get the 'treatment' but suddenly got better or something, I forget now, but it was seemingly after accepting it.
I listened to the transcript of the interview about Raymond's death, and it almost sounded like 049 was trying to convince himself he had actually helped and healed the good doctor.
I think it's best if he watches an introductory video to the SCP universe next cause there might be some terms he runs into that he won't understand otherwise
I've heard a few rumors on other videos about what the pestilence actually is one of the best ones I heard was that it is hubris because there was one interaction the good doctor had with one of the researchers and he said that he did not see the pestilence in the SCP doctor but then the guy started to become combative and argumentative and suddenly he saw the pestilence in him
The Plague Doctor isn't a "good guy," but I think it's fair to say that he wants to be a hero who can cure people, and *sees himself as* a good guy. If questioned, he will admit that his "treatment" is "not perfect." He just considers what he calls "the pestilence" much worse.
The foundation is neither good nor evil their purpose is simply the keep the masses safe if it means sacrificing some people so be it they believe in the greater good. Very intresting organization.

I may be wrong, but it seems to me the pestilence might be the fear and denial of death. In the stories any time someone accepts their end and goes to greet it 049 acts as if they are either cured or at a lower viral load.
One of the cool theories Ive heard about SCP-049 is the pestilence is free will. Whether it's "correct" or not it's an interesting idea that explains why the undead can be controlled by 049 or just go classic dumb zombie
I believe the rankings are: Safe: Not harmful to humans, and possibly helpful in some cases. Euclid: dangerous if provoked or interacted with in specific circumstances, but otherwise ok. Keter: deadly, and not to be messed with without proper precautions.

To be honest, Volgun's version of this is better. But Volgun also basically set the bar for how you do these. I like to think the Plague Doctor is trying to cure something more abstract. Like, free will, or something. He never specifically says he's trying to cure life, or death, or anything like that. He only ever refers to it in abstract terms, like he isn't ALLOWED or CAPABLE of saying the thing. Given that the SCP universe has a ton of cognito hazards, he literally might not be able to actually SAY what it is. That is the only time he ever gets nervous. Whenever he tries to talk about it.
13:00... like an angel or a god? Awesome that your diving into the foundation. A lot of it is actually really really good fiction....and then there's the heaps of nearby trash fires lmao but it's still worth wading through to find the treasures.
So I know this is almost 2 weeks late and I'm not sure if you've been informed of this or not yet, but I figure it's worth answering your question of "What the hell's a Euclid?" Euclid-class SCPs are things that are potentially dangerous and could potentially escape containment, but it's too hard to say for sure, as it's not inert enough to deserve the Safe class, which means it's incredibly easy to contain, and not active enough to deserve Keter class, which is something that's extremely difficult to contain and usually extremely dangerous if not contained. Most sapient SCPs are classified as Euclid simply because their nature as beings with free will makes it hard to predict whether or not they'll decide to try to leave. But that's the big thing about containment classes. It doesn't actually have very much to do with how dangerous the thing is but rather how hard it is to contain. Also, when they supply children to keep things contained, those children are usually A) not actual parent's children but rather children created using another anomaly, and B) are used to contain something that would likely wipe humanity from the face of the Earth if *not* contained.
I don't think this is the best one to start with personally, and that' just because i don't think 049 does a good job introducing people to this world and the level of craziness it can reach, but it is considered a classic. I think my favorite one for people to start with is "Infinite IKEA" because it just has everything in its story that makes scp lore interesting all put into one short story. That dichotomy has always interested me.

Yeah I agree with the reading but for content and visual wise these take the cake because they stick pretty well with the lore and we’ll give you enough to look at to not lose anyone, which I would say normally people’s attention spans are too short and we shouldn’t need bells and whistles to get into it (which I started with Vulcan) but I do think this is much easier to again make content when like talking about it with a chat and keeping them there to see some kind of representation of them said scp.

This Comment is Correct.
Hell yea my man nux is going down the SCP rabbit hole
"Who are the bad guys?!"
_Yes._
If you are doing scp content, I recommend mr. illustrated. Especially the when day breaks series.
14:34 what did bro mean by saying the ape is related to the black guy😂
I highly recommend you watch this guy more, starting with 682. It's one of the most popular ones.
9:54 I mean there is SCP 008 or otherwise known as the Zombie virus or Zombie Plague
I like the thought of Nux reacting to SCPs
The Vulgun is probably the best channel for exploring the various SCP entries.
Hey Nux I love yours videos keep up the great work! A good scp for a next video would be The Heart Of Darkness SCP
this is my favorite scp to i am so glad nuxanor is watching this
Ah the SCP foundation... welcome to MY wheelhouse Nux...
Do you know...the Yule man?
The Yule man?
THE YULE MAN!
I am lovin this! finally man Nux decided to watch Scp vids. Lets get straight right in and dive into the LORE BABYY!!
There are a lot of monsters and other dangerous things in the SCP foundation.
Knowing you like to analyze the psyches of these characters and think that would be a cool thing
There’s also some really cool SCP animations from Tales from the foundation
Though mainly the first ones
Hahahahahahahahaha yes!!! Drag Nux into the crazy world of SCP!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd wholeheartedly recommend the Volgun series of SCP videos!
