    Good tips. I tend to cut the stuck handles off with a bolt cutter. The round tap handles are salable in lots for more than scrap on ETSY, eBay and other sites as craft/art materials. I used to make scrap metal flowers, and other decor items/sculpture from them myself.

    At mile marker 245 with that outside spicket handle or basically any rusted screw that won't come out if you spray just a touch of rustbuster let it sit for a minute and then use what I call the caveman screw gun 90% of the time that screw would come out
    if you put the valve in a vise set your screwdriver in the slot put a little pressure turning counterclockwise and slowly tap on the top of the screwdriver a lot of times that screw will come out
    I also like that you use a lot of hand tools I believe this is great for people that are just starting and then you can move up to more advanced tools as you start to make money
    I believe if you take 10% of your earnings from scrapping and put it to the side you can slowly start building up to better equipment and more efficient equipment
    also I like how you break down the process of taking something apart also by weighing it out to see if it's personally worth your time thanks for another outstanding video🤠

    The type of valves you did we are lucky, only have to remove the handles. It is amazing the price drop if you don't remove them, anywhere from $1 -$1.50 they take off depending where brass is at the time. but the pressure relief valve they want us to remove that spring now. years ago we didn't have to but when i quit and came back to scrapping now that is a requirement to get the best price. they did show me the way they remove it at the yard when they get them in whole by just taking a screwdriver/punch put it in the opening and just hit it with the hammer and that end pops right off releasing that spring when you pop them out backwards. works lot better than wasting time cutting them in half to get them out. . you know if the yard is paying guys to do something they are making more than just covering their wages so anytime i see the yards doing something extra, i figure I can do it at home too and get a better price. I always pay attention to what they have their other employees in the back of the room separating and how they do it.

    Love your videos especially the ones where you deconstruct motors. I've been getting this a lot though: the screws are rusty around the motors (I source most of mine from dryers and washers) if I use the drill the screw refuses to unscrew and makes a hole which doesn't fit any drill bit in my kit (I've got over 100 bits and I've tried them all) how do I deal with a rusty broken screw? Surely you've come across a few over the years. How do you deal with it? What method do you use to extract the stubborn screw? Much appreciated!

    • @scrapitall200
      @scrapitall200  3 місяці тому +1

      I guess it depends on what it is.
      If I can, I will just use the grinder to grind the head off the screw or even use a cold chisel to knock the head off. There is a tool called “easy out screw extractor” they work really well getting broken or stripped screws removed. You can find those on Amazon or auto parts store.
