I love finding things on the side of the road and taking it all apart for the copper, brass, aluminum and other metals. I have gotten my husband into going and finding it with me, he just isn't into breaking it down, he would just take it all to the scrap yard like it is if it wasn't for me. I hope to start recording some videos myself, soon. I just have to learn how to make and edit videos and not be shy. Thank you for sharing your videos.
My yard will take all my plastics.. im only few minutes from them so I'm basically there almost everyday.. I go to two yards and they both know me by name.. I'm glad you took the advantage to show people they can make money and show the process.. thank you

Love your Videos, Love your Commitment to God. I work in IT and do scrapping as a Hobby. So I try to microscrap everything. I have learned numerous little things that have helped me out. Keep them coming.
Lately I’ve discovered to skip the step of cutting off plug ends. Instead I use the same method of pliers to hold plug in one hand and dull wire cutters to pinch and roll the brass prongs out and just tears the prong from the copper wire. I don’t necessarily need to cut ends off for my scrapyard, but I like the brass bits.
That’s what’s great about scrapping imo, there really isn’t a wrong way to do something. As long as we stay safe, have fun and recover the metals, that’s the name of the game lol.
Amen. That was a big motor for a food processor. I have been trying to break everything down when tearing things apart. Hope that will help me organize better
Greetings from northern Sweden and a fellow scrapper. Don't we all love Hammer Time😂 Capacitors like that I put with Dirty Aluminium, pays better then shred. Also, I use two yards depending on what material I have, one yard gives me prepared steel price for nuts and bolts, screws and any clean steel so to say. Scrapping for me is Theraputic Escapism and I admit it has put food on the table a few times. I also use my scrap steel weight for fuel in the car, not much to the lbs but it helps. Is there anything in the fan assembly part? See 6:50 after you separate the motor out. The part I question I’ve seen in other engines with aluminum on the edges.
That piece is called an armature or rotor. Some are made with copper (I have a video showing how to remove the copper) this one is steel and aluminum but the only way to remove the aluminum is to melt it from the steel. It’s hardly any weight in aluminum so it wouldn’t be worth the trouble or time to melt it. Thank you for watching bud

I started melting with a wood furnace and a homemade crucible. Didn't know better. I could melt aluminum and get glass malleable. I've learned since then
@scrapitall200 mine was a an old propane tank cut in half I drilled a vent hole in the side that was attached to the hair dryer. I filled it with plaster of Paris it worked great I still have it. I cut wood into small pieces and kept feeding them in. My problem was I melted most every crucible I used. They may work a time or two but I killed a bunch. Now I have a proper foundry and proper crucible. Spent the money to save the time
@scrapitall200 to be honest I've not tried yet.from what I've seen you can expect about 10 burnings with them I bought the furnace but it's not been used so far
The furnace I told you about is a single burner and a 6 kg crucible. I am keeping the tongs it came with. I will send you the furnace the spacer rocks to lift the crucible and the burner and hose n it's my fault I like to have a drink or three after work. I did not plan to buy this foundry though its pretty nice. I wanted a bigger unit. Now I have both
@@timhouser1840 I use two and I love them both. My main pair (I use for almost everything lol) are from harbor freight and they are Doyle brand. I’ve had them just over 3 years and they are still really sharp. The newest ones that I only use to clip insulated wire are Knipex, they are amazing but quite expensive. $40 or so for Knipex Doyle I paid $15
Just with firewood and I used a hair dryer as a blower. You melt the aluminum out of them motors. Steel will last a few burns. Stainless works best. Hit the thrift store for stainless steel pots. Melt and pour the aluminum yourself. Make sure your mold is hot. My friend a steam explosion is not something you will go through twice

Great video, when I do motors, I use a 14" metal chop saw instead of the grinder! Much easier/faster, worth the investment if you do a lot of them!

Right on buddy. I like Okie scrappers homemade waste oil burner he uses ti melt aluminum. Unfortunately in my state they require a permit to use one

What do you do with the copper out of the switches with the silver contacts on them?
I remove the contacts from them, then I add the copper or brass to my collection.
