Hey Mystik Seekers! Greek mythology didn’t hold back with these curses, did it? Let me know which story you liked the most and if there's a myth, topic, or story that you want to see next. Thank you for watching the channel! Stay mysical!✨
@@shadowwood549 Yes, Celtic! Native American is also very interesting with so many different ways to go. There's just so many options! Do you have anything in specific in mind for either of those?
@MystikManor Ooh, really hard question. Humm. Well, with native American mythology there's the Thunderbird, associated with storms and lightning. not many channels talk about the Thunderbird. A lot of channels talk about skinwalkers, coyote, and Wendigos a lot. But not so much as the Thunderbird, or Katshituashlu. And Celtic mythology has some fascinating gods and goddesses. Lol. But I would say the Thunderbird, not many talk about the Thunderbird. Lol.
@@shadowwood549 We must think alike! I did a video on the Thunderbird, it's in the Dragons & Mythical Creatures Video. I was thinking Wendigos too but it's a bit overdone. Celtic mythology is extremely interesting and can make for some great videos.
@MystikManor Oh my goodness, we do. We must be on the same brain wave. Lol. Also thank you for reminding me, I forgot that you did Thunderbird in the dragon and creature video. 🤦😂 I knew I heard it from somewhere. 😂 Yes I agree, Celtic mythology is pretty fascinating, not only the gods and goddesses, the horned God be my favorite, but the mythical creatures. Lol. I believe fae too. 🤔
Beauty has always had the power to be either a blessing or a curse depending on whose eye it catches. My heart goes out to those that suffered a similar fate as Medusa.
Absolutely love this topic!💙 I remember learning about some of this in school, but don't remember it being so intense. That curse on Medusa though....😱 They really weren't messing around. Thanks for bringing these stories to life, it's like being transported to another world!
Just caught this as soon as it dropped! Another epic video! Greek mythology never disappoints, and the way you bring these to life is unreal and so beautiful. I’m already looking forward to seeing what you uncover next-your storytelling is always top tier!
I liked the story of Medusa because it has a deep seeded lesson imbedded in it. How fear can be used as a weapon and shield and you can ward off enemies and that very thing your afraid of could be turned to work for your good
Love your videos as usual!!! I loved all the stories, I was familiar with all of them. I have always found some sort of connection with Cassandra’s story and my own. ❤
@witchNwand Medea seems to be a popular choice. I would love to do a dedicated video on Hekate. I’ve tried looking this up several times and everyone says it differently and spells it differently. How do you pronounce Hekate? Is it heh-kah-tay or heh-kah-tee? I really want to do her justice and say it correctly.
@MystikManor The pronunciation makes no difference, nor the spelling. The C in her name is the Roman way of spelling, and the K in her name is the Greek way. It makes no difference to her. Go as you feel led, I'd love to see a video about Mother Hekate. Blessed be 🗝🖤🗝
@@witchNwand Thank you so much for letting me know! That makes me feel a lot better because I spent a good amount of time trying to figure that out. I am definitely going to be doing a video just for her.😊 Thanks again!✨
@shadowwood549 Thank you!💜 Me too. It was really difficult trying to chose which topic to cover. It was between this and the gods and goddesses of the Underworld/ Hades (which I'm still going to do eventually)!
@@MystikManor you are very welcome! ❤️ Ooh, Hades! He's my favorite. Lol. I don't know why in books and movies and TV shows his painted as a villain when actually he isn't. He's pretty chill. Take away the whole kidnapping Persephone part. Lol. Although in some of the story's, they fell in love from afar, and she actually chose to stay. Lol. Still. He's my favorite for many reasons, first and foremost he's loyal to Persephone. Lol. I had to do research on the underworld for one of my books, and it is truly a fascinating place. Lol
Cassandra's story was very interesting. It is still relevant today, women with knowledge or a deep seeded understanding are labeled as insane or just ignorant when most of their observations come true. She is the embodiment of female intuition, which is sadly ignored in so many instances of history or modern tragedies.
Steve Irwin the reincarnation of Odysseus¿ And really with curiosity, Hera actually didn't gift Pandora, curiosity but rather challenged her with it! Interesting turn out for Medea, betrayed her father and brother then becomes the mother of two sons, which she eventually claimed the lives of 😮 what a lost soul! Medusa's story is so tragic I think, it truly shows the false compassion and point of blame the deities have towards humans. Also look at that solidarity, staying loyal to her brother Poseidon. Something that the previous story was opposite! Cassandra is fascinating, I've always been drawn to the God Apollo and so often I feel unheard!
Medusa's story is my favourite. When we were kids we were lead to believe that she was a monster 😢 only to later learn she was wronged by both Poseidon and Athena. Athena tried to make amends. Though I doubt that made a difference to poor Medusa 🤷🏻♀️
Hera's fault, she should had calculated better. Question, as it is more thought. It could be possible hera may planned the curiousity as a fail safe and suspect pandora will open the box. Medusa is my favourite. She wasnt cursed on purpose. Athena transformed medusa as she was violated by Poseidon. It was no punishment to medusa because the truth is, zeus made the law. No god can partake in punishment upon eachother no matter what the crime is or was. Imagine, how different it would be if athena were allowed to punish Poseidon.
Medusa is my all time BECOUSE she was an innocent it was said she was taken in Athena's temple and Athena's gelouse is what made her curse madusa then later felt SORY for her choice and put her on an island
There's no account of Athena feeling sorry for Medusa. The greek writer Pindar even said that Athena created a flute melody based on the cries of Medusa's sisters over her death
I have heard the reason for Athena turning Medusa differently. Athena could not punish Poseidon as it was out of her power. So she turned Medusa into something that could not be hurt again by men. Men then again used her in death. This theory makes sense since she chose to honour her in death.
I always had a problem with Medusa's story. She was a victim of a god who overpowered her and violated her at his whim. Athena should have gone after Poseidon, rather than her devoted priestess.
Yk God told me im Apollo cause my ex was somebody name favored Cassandra so in return I had to solve the Bible to tell ppl its giving them the information about who they once were and that we stuck in a time capsule with spirits which came from other realms. I was first created in Asia but traveled to Egypt died learned incarnation techniques had a son who became the hidden 13th zodaic and he was punished for reincarnation spells. He came as Pythagoras to teach ppl about angels but they call it angles instead.
I prefer Robert Graves's White Goddess and his rendition of the Greek Myths. It's much more interesting than the patriarchal retelling. Medusa was actually raped by Poseidon and hounded to death by other men...it was the fall from matriarchy to patriarchy...this frankly is a disappointing whitewash.
GLAD WE DO NOT BELIEVE IN THIS ANYMORE - IF THERE ARE STILL GODS OUT THERE HOPE THEY ARE SAD FOR WHAT THEY DID TO THE INCENT PEOPLE - AND CAN NOT DO WHAT THEY WANT TO ANY MORE

@corinasucre Thank you!💜 For me, probably Circe.✨
My favourite tale was of Medea because I am a witch and modern day devotee of the Goddess Hekate, but one of her sons.

I loved in this video! It certainly shows the dangers of falling in love with the wrong man! Lol! Beautiful animations!

I love hearing the story of Cassandra, you don't hear about her much.

@carmenross7063 Great choice! Also, I didn't forget, I'm still going to be making the mermaid, djin & aliens videos after the holidays!✨
I empathize with Cassandra most as she was totally innocent!😮😢 I believe Athena was not fair in her discipline of Medusa!😢
Medusa's story is my favourite. When we were kids we were lead to believe that she was a monster 😢 only to later learn she was wronged by both Poseidon and Athena. Athena tried to make amends. Though I doubt that made a difference to poor Medusa 🤷🏻♀️

I find it very hard to find information about Janus the Roman god. I'd like your view on him!
@larryulysse9279 Great suggestion! I will add that to my Roman mythology video. Thank you!

Knowledge tempts and needs to be used unselfishly? Im happy to see the final consequences of Medusa's life was protection. I identify with Cassandra.
I've always found Medusa's story a sad one😔

I wonder why Medusa didn't just live with her sisters. She wouldn't have felt so alone.
